Taij flew at a quick speed, not bothering too look at anything in front of her. Because of this, she bumped into some other bird. "Er... Sorry." She ducked under the bird- a hawk perhaps- and landed at the river. She kept her distance, she hated water.

lexie could now hover, but not very well, so she could not stay off the ground for long. she started experimenting on different positions of her tail, tips of her wings and her legs. she soon found out that to go forwards she had to tuck her legs in, bend the tips of her wings down and lift up her tail, and how to glide- spread your wings wide, tuck your legs into your feathers and use weight and tail directions for steering. lexie wanted to have her go at gliding from her home tree to a tree next to it. she jumped from the tree and successfully glided through the air. she hadnt found out how to land yet, so she crash landed. lexie was overjoyed! "yes yes yes!" she screeched, aand fell over backwards with laughter.

Shadow nodded an,'It's fine.',to the bird and glided down to land on a tree for a rest. She gripped a tree branch and folded her wings to her sides.

Lexie got up when she saw taij bump into another bird. "ha!" she cried out, enjoying this entertainment. "looks like you need to have flying lessons!" she shouted over, and chuckled.

"Featherweight, eh?" Lexie called over, grinning at all times. "Looks like I take after you, always doing stuff and quarrelling with this same, annoying bird." Lexie shreaked loudly and looked at the floor. "you better watch where your going little Birdy, you might forget how to fly and come falling to your death." Lexie ruffled her feathers and got ready for another flight. She jumped from the tree and glided closer to Taij. This time she slowly flapped her wings and she stayed in the air for longer. She clumsily landed on a branch near Taij.

Taij was still unimpressed. "Still needs work. Here, land like this." She boosted herself into the sky, then she aimed for a branch close to Lexie. She slowly descended, then spread her wings and held out her claws. She flapped her wings once or twice for a steady landing. "Take your time, or you could break the poor branch."

Lexie sarcastically frowned. "poor branchy, did I hurt chu?" she said, petting the branch with her right wing. "oh, and I don't need landing lessons from I puny little feather-bag like you" Lexie jumped from the branch and over to the lake, now going to try and catch a fish. That is what fish eagles survive on, well you can kinda tell from their name. She swooped low over the lakes rim and stared at the slimy bodies of Fish just swimming around.

"Look out, young one." A deep voice said from the sky far above the quarreling birds. With outstretched talons, the Kite hit the water softly. As Darious arose from the surface, a sparkling, silver fish hanging from his claws. He landed on the ground next to the Fish Eagle, dropping the fish at her feet. Darious grinned at Lexie, showing off how superior he was. Darious bested most birds, and almost every other creature, in many respects.
"Next time, act before you think." He winked at the adolescent Fish Eagle. Along with many other mottoes, this was something he lived by. He knew this wasn't something Taij would like, but he loved it when she didn't like something he said. It made her much more... Attractive. "How do you like that one, sweetheart?" He called over his shoulder at Taij. He laughed lightly, quietly.

Taij glared at Darious. "Are you trying to promote me?" Taij was good at masking her emotions, one of the best at it. "I beg your pardon, but teasing me is not going to get you anywhere." Taij saw a small squirrel in a tree across the river. She lifted off the branch, gliding silently towards the tree. She did not look down, with her fear of water. She quickly held her talons out infront of her and scooped up the squirrel in mid flight. She wheeled around the tree back to the branch she was on before, then grabbed the squirrel in her beak by the tail. She turned her head to the side, then banged the squirrel against the tree to paralyze it. She lay it on the thick branch. "Of course, beggars like you wouldn't know how to hunt the right way.
