Cujo lowered her head so she could look Lunus in the eye. "No, you're not. Listen to me when I say this... I don't really care what you call yourself. It's not the titles... The reputation... Not even the appearance. No one should care about anything but your personality. If they do, they better get right in the head." She sat down quietly, her fur bristling from the cold water. "If you ask me, which you aren't, you're just about the only cat I'd ever met with a heart like yours. Actually, you're so unlike everyone else that it makes you stand out like a primrose in a field of thorns. You're my friend, Lunus, don't think of yourself as anything less than what you are." |

Shadow didn't seem to hear him as her eyes closed and she thought of life with Fisher before they both died. When her eyes opened her nose was pressed to Piroshki's and she was smiling. Quickly she moved her head and put it under her paws in embarrassment.

Piroshki shuffled uncomfortably on his paws, embarrassment burning his pelt. "You remind me of a friend of mine...." Piroshki sighed. "Looks, personality, all. Her name was Winter, da... Winter." His gaze became distant, as if he was replaying the memories in his mind. Then he snapped back to reality, "But she shares much of the same fate as Fisher. She has passed on to a better place."
Lunus narrowed his eyes, "Then what the heck are answers for, then, if nothing is to be understood?"

Lunus tilted his head, "You learn about phylosphy?" he asked, amused. He shook his head, "You surprise me, Cujo, you really do. Ah, but I suppose I have never met a cat like you before." He stood up, stretched, then purred against Cujo and padded away further down stream, just taking a little walk. He eyed the water wearily though....

Cujo looked down into the water again, squinting to see her reflection in the dark. Behind her lake-bound twin, she could see each of the stars, twinkling among the ripples. Just above her head rested a crescent, and her reflection seemed to wear it with pride. She had been taught that the moon was a symbol of trust and hope, and was to bring luck to all who gaze upon it's crescent. It's full form, however, brought bad luck and death. She felt lucky that death would not befall her just yet. |

"Well," Piroshki shrugged. "She HAD a tail... Back when we were kits, though, it got bit off by a bull massive." He looked away, swishing his own tail. "But da, just like you. It's veird to meet someone in ze Afterlife zat looks and acts like ze one you loved dearly in ze living life." He sighed sadly and rested his head on his paws.
Lunus looked up at the sky and noticed the crescent moon. He blinked at it, the moon reflecting in his eyes. The moon's glow made it seem as if his pelt had an eire silver glow to it too. Her looked down in the river again.

Without thinking, Cujo dove into the water. She let the cool water rush through her fur, then came up to breathe. She paddled casually down with the current, taking in the sights. She was actually searching for Lunus, but if she didn't find him. she could still look at the scenery. |

Lunus sat down by the water's edge and continued to look up at the moon. Why did his heart ache so bad? Why did he feel lonely despite Cujo's comforting words? He sighed. He had changed so much ever since he met Cujo. How did he ever agree with himself to come close to her? He shook his fur, knowing that Cujo will be his only friend ever. Smiling at thet hought, he actually did feel a bit happy about having a friend. About having someone who could understand you. Eh, but that won't stop him from still trying to commit suicide, that crazy fuzzball.
Piroshki blushed and his eyes widened. He waved his tail gently and placed it on her shoulder. "They're watching us, Shadow." the Russian cat said. "Both of them."
