Ooc:// I'm ready.
Though, I'm not sure why you laughed about the no random ferret thing, but didn't laugh about me literally typing something along these lines: "an eevee tail popped out of her butt"...
Either way, I'm glad that I amuse you. XD

A figure emerged from the shadowy shrubbery, violet ears and an ivory tail giving away his identity. Ace paced over to the lakeside, a place he had declared his home away from home. It was his territory, not like anyone would invade seeing as he'd used the scent gland in the tip of his tail to make the entire area reek.
He peered up to the eerie clouds above, a crackle of thunder sounding in the near distance. A storm was fast approaching. Ace shrugged it off, as he had become used to the unpredictable weather patterns. He simply receded back into his burrow, a natural cave formation that sat beside the water's edge. He tossed several sticks that he had previously gathered into a pit with some dry grass and produced an antique lighter from behind a jagged rock. His golden eyes briefly scanned over the ob ject; it was his father's old lighter, the only tie to his family that remained.
The flames grew in intensity and danced, casting light on the walls of the cavern. Ace wore his typical grin, glad to remember that he had everything he needed. A place to stay, food to eat... Food to eat... His stomach bellowed, notifying him that it was time to refuel. He glanced over to his stockpile of fruit. Empty... Someone or something had raided his stash. The boy sighed, realizing that he would have to restock soon.

Test tubes and beakers lay sprawled across a black counter top in a dimly lit room. Sidney stood still as a statue, holding one vial over another. He began to pour the chemical into the other mysterious substance, biting his lip in deep concentration. This looked quite hilarious paired with the ridiculous goggles that sat over top of his glasses.
A single drop of the chemical dangled down, falling reluctantly into the other vial. Sidney backed off in shock when there was fizzing, which turned to bubbling, which turned into a huge mess that the maid would surely have to clean up. He grinned, plucking the goggles from his face and rinsing his hands.
He entered the vast, extravagant living room and clicked on the enormous television.
"Poke-Humans have been sighted frequently lately. Where did these creatures come from? What are they like?" The face of a news reported flashed on the screen, wearing a fake and exaggerated smile. Several blurry images of what they called "Poke- humans" were displayed, piquing Sidney's interest.
"Oh, what it'd be like to have one of those around. I could interrgoate them, take a blood sample, so many possibilities!" His eyes glimmered with delight. He snatched his wallet from a table and set off to purchase some Poke balls. He bought five, noticing that they were rather large and clunky and heading home to stow them away in a back pack.
He took about several steps into the empty, silent woods before his leg got wrapped in briars and he was sent tumbling forward.
I\'m back.

Cami silently chuckled to himself as he put the final touches on his 'new home'. Granted, it was just another hole in the dirt held up by sticks. He was new to the whole making homes thing, and still needed a lot more work on it. It didn't help that this was his fourth new home in the last week, seeing how all the others had collapsed on him. The boy's eyes gleamed at his pathetic excuse for a hole, but hey, it was the best he could do at the moment.
It wasn't a moment later before Cami found his nose twitching. What was that smell? It was so familiar... and yet, so good. Berries? Aw yes! The dirt covered furret boy followed his nose to a half-full berry bush and a grin instantly exploded on his face. He picked up a berry delicately in his hand and popped it in his mouth, not even taking a second to consider if it was poisonous or not. That kind of thing was never the first thought to cross his mind.
After a couple moments, he was still standing. Welp, those weren't bad berries apparently. Or the effects had yet to take place. He would probably go into some hallucinogenic attack later, but he would manage. He always did! Without even considering the other poke humans in the area, Cami picked more berries and stashed them in his pocket. He hated the idea of leaving his food in a single place for fear he'd forget where it was. But, with his pockets full, he scampered back into the tall grass, slowly waiting for the storm to come and pass.

"Jason Eridan Bates!"
Jason groaned upon hearing his name, his awful, full name being yelled from his horrid step mother's voice. It was so grating and irritating, and he was still in bed. Talk about hearing nails on a chalk board. Obviously, new mummy didn't get the whole don't-ever-wake-Jason-up-unless-you're-giving-him-a-coffee rule in the house. His dad got that rule just fine, and respected it! He guessed there were only a few adults around who respected his wishes anymore. God, what an issue nowadays.
Slowly, the boy rolled himself out of bed, reveling in the warmth of the sheets while he could. Sure, it might have been afternoon and everything, but it was always time for sleep or a nap in his opinion. Just like it was always time for a coffee or tea. With a heavy sigh, BB pulled on a pair of seemingly clean pants and his hoodie, clothes his parents didn't necessarily like him wearing. They weren't proper and rich looking, like everything else he owned. He liked doing the little things to make his parents angry.
"Jason, you know today is the final day to make your decision."
"I know, Cindy," BB snapped at his step mother, grabbing a cup from the cupboard. He filled it with coffee and stared at the short woman coolly from across the kitchen. She raised a defined eyebrow at him and tapped her expensive shoe against the tile. It was a stare down, just waiting for dad to come in. Of course, he wouldn't until dinner. He was in his office, doing more business management with the whole pokeball sales or something. He didn't even know. Father's business wasn't ever something he was interested in.
"Jason, listen to your mother!"
BB heard his dad's muffled voice came from his office upstairs. "Step mother," he muttered under his breath, just loud enough for the woman to hear. Her fake smile haltered but quickly went back to place. "I'm going." He snapped, grabbing his wallet and bag off of the counter. It felt heavy already, and when he looked inside, there were 4 pokeballs already inside with a note from step mummy. He crumpled it without reading and just tossed it on the ground before he left the house.
"And we're off on an adventure," He muttered sarcastically as he walked down the drive towards the closest town possible.

Laina stood in her recently-discovered home; a small dug-out area under a cliff. A small cave, virtually. She had brought a mirror from her previous home- a real home, from which she'd fled due to her unusual pokemon features. She stared in it curiously, *censored* out the movements of her ears.
One twitched, the other twitched. They both stood up, as if she were alert and listening, then they laid back as if she were embarrassed or sad. Her bushy eevee tail was swishing all the while when she was doing such things, creating a swept spot on the ground on which she sat. She never really had been interested in pokemon before all of this happened. The things were gone. She didn't know the reason that they were gone, but they were gone nonetheless. She'd accepted that fact and lived a normal life as a naive, fun-loving village girl.
But, now, thanks to her new attributes, she'd developed a new curiosity for the creatures. Why could they be stored in pokeballs? Could she be stored in a pokeball, now? She sure hoped not. She didn't know what it was like inside of the spherical objects, but being forced into one against her will sounded just as bad as being kidnapped to her.
She wished that she could go back to her old life. Sure, it wasn't the best life, but it was a life nonetheless. Now, Alaina had nothing. She was stuck in the forest, cowering from society, unable to make a move to find out what exactly had happened to her.
She sighed, and played with a few strands of her chestnut brown hair, fantasizing of the day that she could know of everything that went on around her.
~~~~~~~~~~
Her bags were packed. Her emotions were in check. Cecilia was ready to go. She held the same solemn ex pression that she'd always had on her face. Today was the tenth anniversary of her brother's diagnosis of cancer. She didn't cry about it anymore. She never really cried at all when he died. She hadn't shown any emotion. It was as if, when Maximus died, Cecilia's emotions died along with him.
She pushed the thoughts away as she grabbed her pokeballs and headed for the door. Her parents knew of her departure, but Cecilia didn't say goodbye. It wasn't like she wasn't going to return. She'd come back as soon as she could.
She thought that, maybe, if she could find one of those pokemon-human hybrid people, they'd help her out a little with this whole depressing situation. She'd been sitting in a pool of emotionless horror for years, and she couldn't crawl out. Until now. She had footholds in the sinking sand, and was making progress towards the surface of the pit.
She decided not to waste money on a plane or train or bus. She'd walk, just like the elders talked about when they mentioned their own pokemon journeys. Cecilia would walk. She would save what money she had for a place to stay on rainy nights.
With a painful thud Kyuron fell to the ground. Her fondness of high vantage points did not pair well with her overall lack of balance. Pushing herself off the ground she walked away from the wrathful tree that had thrown her from its branches.
She had always listened to the stories of pokemon with fasination. Tales of mystical creatures that once graced the side of man. When she had become a gijinka she had fled into the forest in panic, unsure of how she would be recieved.
Since then she had been wandering. She hardly ever stayed in one spot long enough to get a feel for an area, and as a result she never found much food. This was a fact that her snarlling stomache would not let her forget. Every chance she could she filled her pockets with berries that she had found, and every time she fell they were mashed into an uappeasing pulp. Moving with any briskness she was fine, but when trying to make slow movements she often fell, unaccustomed to her new feet, that she never got a feel for.
Ace's ears twitched, trying to zone in on the sound that had just hit him. Was it thunder? No, thunder boomed and crackled. This was a thud, for sure. His eyes glinted, gazing toward the great outdoors. He moved with caution toward the exit of his cave, creeping up silent as a mouse. He feared humans being around, though he felt that no human would want to capture him once they smelled the awful stench he could secrete.
He chuckled under his breath when he noticed a clumsy little vulpix girl, wandering along aimlessly. His personality only permitted him to watch from a distance, as he was born a loner. However, he feared for her safety. She looked like a pretty cool Poke-person that humans would enjoy having. He was rather envious of her multiple tails. Why did he only get one?
Ace scaled a tree a decent distance from the vulpix girl, not wanting to attract her attention. But then he recalled that it was stormy out. 'Is it really a good idea to be in this tree now?' And the second that though crossed his mind, lighting zapped a tree that was just too close for comfort.
Ace's heart skipped a beat, and he scrambled out of his perch and onto the much safer ground. Rain began to strike his skin in a slight drizzle. His cover was blown anyway, so why leave the poor girl out in the storm.
"Hey!" He called to her, hoping th rain would cleanse the area of his odor. He came a little closer. "You need a place to stay?"
~~~~~~
Sidney struggled free from the briars that had entangled him. He sighed in embarassment, glad that nobody saw that. Frightened by the sound of thunder, he debated on whether to go back home or take cover here, in the woods.
Deciding reluctantly that it just wasn't time to call it quits yet, Sidney sought out temporary shelter. The storm would pass quickly.... Hopefully. Gentle rain drops dampened his skin, urging him to take cover asap. He glanced around, but he could see no refuge.
And then it caught his eyes. There was a small cave- like area beneath a cliff that looked suitable to hide in. He grinned with relief, scuttling into the shelter without taking the proper time to inspect in. Had he looked around thoroughly, surely he'd have noticed the other presence that inhabited this structure.
Finally he glanced over and his colorless gray eyes met her, Sidney staggering backward in surprise. It was a bit too dark for him to realize that she was part Pokemon, especially with his glasses being speckled with rain.
"I'm sorry." He apologized, simultaneously wiping the water from his glasses and then replacing them. He snagged his hat from his head and shook it off. "Umm, do you mind if I stay here for just a while?" Part of him was wondering the reason that she was here, but he felt it would be too rude to ask.
I\'m back.

Sora dragged her feet through the woods. She hadn't been expecting anything special today, as no day has been that exciting for her. She looked around, trying to find a place to stay. Sora had just gotten in a fight with a few stupid pokemon about territory. As stubborn as she is, Sora lost the fight and began to savage for a new temporary home. It was rare to se even a regular Pikachu, so she couldn't just stay with another Pikachu. When Sora began to feel a slight drizzle turn into a heavy rain storm she growled. "Could this day get any better?!" she hissed, letting a large wave of lightning into the sky. Her rosy cheeks released a few more small waves of lightning.
Not minutes later was Sora totally soaked. She crossed her arms and kept walking. She shivered about every few minutes, and would shake most of the water out of her hair. Her ears twitched as she heard someone near by. After finally taking cover from the rain under a tree, Sora sat down and ringed out her hair. She used her electricity to heat her up before she could catch a cold.

Axel walked along one of his many imaginary paths in the woods. His hand were stuffed in his pockets and the flame on his tail flickered as he waved it back and forth. He had just finished a fight with a pokemon and won. There was a slight smirk on his face from his victory. It boosted his self-confidence, and encouraged him to get in another fight. Though, sometimes Axel can get a bit too cocky in battle. Even though he hasn't lost one since his became half pokemon, it doesn't mean he can't loose. That was something Axel didn't yet understand.
When he felt the little droplets of rain his his face he sighed. "Again?" He groaned. As the rain got stringer, Axel got a little bit weaker. THere was a sizzling sound as the water hit the flame on his tail. It grew smaller and Axel knew it was time to get some shelter.
Axel found a small indent in a large rock, just big enough to keep him dry. He sighed in relief as he started a fire and warmed himself up.

Laina was looking through an old dresser that she'd brought into the cave once. It was a small piece of furniture- only about the size of an average cardboard box, but it was made out of sturdy maple wood and had gold decorations on it. The gold wasn't real, of course. Still, it had clothes in it that she could wear. She was looking for a change of clothes and was half-way taking her shirt off when she heard a voice behind her.
She nearly jumped out of her own skin, ears flipping at the sound of a person in her little home. She hadn't talked to anyone in over a week. She thought that she was hearing things at first, but that suspicion was dismissed when she turned around to see a man standing there, glasses shimmering with rain, black hair wet and shining.
Didn't speak for a moment. Then, when she did open her mouth, the first thing that came out was a question. "Y-you want to stay with me?" Her brows raised in disbelief. Surely, he could see what she was. Logic hadn't kicked in yet, and she didn't know that he, in fact, could not see her for what she was. She was a gijinka. Something that was either coveted or hated. Sometimes both.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Cecilia, after a long journey, stopped in the forest for a break. Her feet ached slightly, but it was a numb pain to her. She didn't mind it. It made her realize that she had made progress today. Progress towards moving on. She wanted to heal- she really did. But it was easier said than done.
Much like finding a human-pokemon hybrid. Easier said than done.
She'd heard of sightings in this particular area, so she began her search by a river. She didn't find anything at first, and the sky relentlessly showered her with raindrops. She was soaking wet by the time she found trees dense enough to really protect her from the rain.
She then found a large patch of tall grass that covered an area that she didn't want to cross. Deciding that it was best to stop journeying for a while, she sat down under a tree with a particularly interesting formation of branches to prevent rain from falling onto her head. She wouldn't catch a bad sickness.
Maybe a minor cold, but that would be all. Cecilia had always had a good immune system.
"I'll go if you don't feel comfortable with me around, I mean, I don't wanna intrude or anything." That was probably the most Sidney had spoken to another being in weeks, though he did have a slight tendency to mutter a few things to himself here and there. His gaze shifted to the rainy scene outside. He did not want to go out there.
Sidney hatched a little plan as he recalled something. "How about this? You let me stay for just a while, just until the storm passes, and I give you this." The boy shuffled through his back pack and revealed a candy bar. "It's no ordinary chocolate bar. It's imported, made from the finest cocoa and handcrafted for perfection." He held it out to her, wearing an encouraging grin.
He surveyed her form casually as he stood there, holding out the bar. He wanted to know if she was someone he knew, though she didn't seem familiar. However, the more he looked at her, the more unusual she seemed. There was something different about this one, that much he knew. But he couldn't put his finger on exactly what her difference was.
Sora heard the noise again. Finally a regular human was walking along before ducking under the trees like Sora. Her ears twitched again as she realized she was leaning forward so much that the rain was hitting her face. She shook her head, getting most of the water off her face, before squinting her eyes. Sora decided to investigate. You know that saying, curiosity killed the cat? Well it would be more suited to Sora if you changed cat to Pikachu.
She slowly approached the girl from behind and was soon standing under the same tree. Sora peeked around the trunk to she the girl's face. "What are you doing here?" Sora asked, looking down at the girl from behind.
It had began to drizzle, Kyuron's attention was grabbed by the sound of another person. At first her heart skipped a beat at the sudden call and she was about to run, but when she looked closely she saw the ears and the large looming tail.
"You need a place to stay?"
She was somewhat distrustful, disliking interaction with strangers. However, the rain not only soaked whatever fur she had, it also sapped her strength. She knew that she should take any chance she could to avoid getting caught in such weather. She was also caught by curiosity. She knew that other Gijinka existed, however, she had never interacted with one.
"Right this way." Ace said, gesturing toward his cave. The rain grew more intense with every moment that passed. Ace began to walk briskly toward the shelter, eager to get out of the wet weather.
He siddled up by the fire that was still alight, pleased by the warmth it provided. He waited for his guest to come and settle down.
Laina was utterly startled. Her naive brain told her that he didn't mind what he was- that he'd accepted her. She was far too naive for the modern day world. Though, at times, her naivety was a bit cute. Other times, it was just a bit annoying and difficult to deal with. Most of the time, she didn't even get dirty jokes.
Her brown eyes stayed on the human, and, as he pulled out a chocolate bar, she rushed forward, so glad to see actual chocolate. Her ears and tail sprung around as she came up to the boy, reaching for the chocolate bar.
"Oh my gosh, give it, give it! Please! You can stay!" Her voice wasn't loud, but excited. She hadn't had chocolate in years. And this, according to the boy, was no ordinary chocolate bar. It wasn't like it held any extra value to her because of that. The man could've offered her a single Hershey's Chocolate Kiss, and she would've been just as happy.
To Laina, chocolate was chocolate.
~~~~~~~~~~
Cecilia was just about to doze off when she heard a voice near her. She jolted awake, jumping up, her stance defensive, fists raised, legs slightly spread apart to give her a good grip on the ground. Every muscle in her body was as tight as a stretched rubber band. When she saw that it was only a girl- she didn't see the pikachu features at first- she relaxed slightly.
Then, when she spotted the yellow ears and the slightly swishing lightning-bolt-shaped tail, her jaw nearly dropped to the floor. She'd thought that they would be harder to find than this. Sure, earlier, she'd had an optimistic view, but the rain had killed whatever remnants of a good mood she'd had. All she had left now was negativity.
But, just seeing this pokehuman made her heart flare a bit with hope.
She reached down into her bag, digging for a pokeball. Wait- she paused. She'd heard of the people who were older than her speaking of having to weaken the pokemon before they all went extinct. Would she have to do that with this girl?
She sure hoped not. Cecilia wasn't one to throw the first punch, and she particularly hated injuring others who'd done no wrong to her. While she was brutal at times, and seemed to have a heart made of frozen metal- cold and rock-hard-, she did have a moral compass of sorts.

Kyuron was glad to be out of the rain, despite loving its sound an appearance. Her tails were wet and heavy, hanging downward. The cave had somewhat of a musky oder to it, though it was all but choked out by the scent of rain. She assumed that this den had once belonged to an animal, and did not find it worth mentioning. The fire seemed to brighten with her presence, as if happy to see her. She seated herself as close to it as she possibly could.
"Thank you" As she reached into her pocket she said "Would you like some be-" and stopped as her hand retrieved nothing but sweet smelling mush. "Never mind"
After a pause she said, "have you seen others around here? Gijinka."

Sora flinched when the girl quickly bolted up. Her fists went from raised to digging in her bag. What could this girl possibly be doing? And at a time like this? Sora thought she was going to have to fight this human. "What cha' looking for?" Sora asked curiously. She had no idea of what to think of this situation. It was odd and unnatural for Sora. She stepped closer, wondering what this girl would do. Her rosy cheeks beginning to create sparks. She wasn't starting as fight. Sora make lightning with many of her emotions.

Ace considered her question for several moments, ears flattening in deep concentration.
"In these parts, no, I haven't seen them. But they are here... You see that big hill over there?" He pointed for clarification "That's where my village is. Or, was anyway, before what we called "The Plague" hit."
He paused for a few seconds, recollecting his memories. "One day, a young boy sprouted fangs and his tongue became forked. It all went downhill after that. They started to quarantine everybody who morphed in the belief that it was some contagious disease, but it just kept happening."
Ace narrowed his yellow stare. "Before long, they began to exile the so- called "infected" and we all just went off on our own paths. I haven't seen anyone from the village since."
He sighed, a grin returning to his face. "But enough about me... What's your story?"
~~~~
Sidney chuckled, releasing his grip on the chocolate. This girl was so child- like, and he found it a rather refreshing trait.
He pushed his glasses up his nose bridge, taking a seat on the floor. It was still too dark for his below average vision to detect her Pokemon characteristics. He curiously glanced around, taking in what his eyes could see clearly. He noticed several pieces of furniture and couldn't help but wonder why she had established a home here. Was she poor? Was she in hiding? He wanted to know. Perhaps he could provide help if he knew the problem.
"If you don't mind me asking, what are doing living in this little cavern?"
Laina grinned as the chocolate fell into her hands, her rapidly swishing eevee tail slowing to a gentle sway. Her ears laid back a bit, though they were still alert. She was so happy now. This guy had no clue. She felt like the bar of chocolate was too much reimbursement for one night's stay in her little cavern.
She unwrapped the chocolate from its casing and took a small bite, not wanting to down it all in one sitting. Her eyes closed in rapturous pleasure as the candy melted on her tongue. Jeez, that was good. She closed the candy bar again, resisting the urge to take another bite.
His question didn't catch her off guard. She'd expected some sort of questions from this guy. Well, might as well answer them. After all, she was under the impression that she knew of her eevee features- her oddness.
"My family didn't want me at home anymore, so I came here," she said, grinning, tucking the chocolate away into a nearby hiding spot in the walls of the cave-like area. There, it would stay cool, and it wouldn't melt, hidden from the sun.
"What're you doing out in the woods?" Her head tilted to the side.
A question for a question, an answer for an answer.
~~~~~~~~~~
Cecilia was almost outraged by the normality of this situation. Despite the girl's pikachu features, it was as if she was completely normal. It was absurd! It almost made her feel bad about wanting to capture this thing in a pokeball.
The question caught her off guard. She'd expected the girl to run, at least, or to step back, or something. Cecilia was an intimidating person at times, due to her constant straight face and serious demeanor. It would be more scary than funny if she were to say a joke.
"I was looking for my camera," she said, easily covering her search for the pokeballs with a lie. The static in the girl's cheeks caught her eye, but she wasn't afraid. "I came out here looking for people like you- pokehumans." Well, it was half of the truth. She was looking only at Sora, now. "I came here to see what's going on. Do some self-directed research. I thought it was time to figure out what was fact and what was fiction. The news has been spreading this story all over the place."

Sidney was rather upset by the fact that this girl's own parents forced her out of her home. He contemplated about what their issue with her was. She wasn't rude and she wasn't very old, certainly not old enough to be out on her own. So what about her made them get rid of her?
"I guess it is a bit unusual for someone like me to just be wandering around out here." Sidney admitted. In fact, he spent the majority of his time in his private lab, creating concoctions and conducting experiments.
"But I do have a reason... You've heard stories of those creatures called Pokemon, right? The ones that have gone extinct?" He started, hoping she had some sort of clue about what he was discussing. "Well guess what? They're back!" He exclaimed with excitement. "....Kind of, anyway. For some reason or another they're DNA is meshed in with certain humans. It's perplexing, really..." He put a finger to his chin as he trailed off.
"So, long story short I'm out here to find one. No luck yet though, I suppose they're not that common.... Have you by chance seen any around?" The rain outside began to slow to a lazy drizzle.
I\'m back.
