((Somewhere in California? I dunno. I just get that feelin. XD)) The crouded streets gave way to empty ones as a small figure walked alone. Lanen didnt know when or whereshe noticed this, but she liked it. It was quiet. No one shouting. Barely a breeze. She could talk to herself all she wanted and no one would care. She started quoting lines and acting out scenes from books she had read when she was a child. From 'Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn' to'Skulduggery Pleasant', whatever she got the urge to say, she said. "'Mr. Pleasant, you're a skeleton.'" She said in a girls voice. It deepened and obtained an Irish brouge. "Ah yes, back to the crux of the thing. Yes. I am, as you say, a skeleton. I have been one for a few years now...." Her head turned and she blinked. Where was she? Lanen looked around. Old, beaten houses, stores, and hotels loomed over her. She grinned and turned a full circle. "Well, might as well look for stuff in these old things..." She closed her eyes and turned a quick circle with her arm extended, pointing. When she opened her eyes and looked, the girl looked at the run down hotel infront of her and blinked. "Aw. Poor thing," She crooned, running her fingers along the door posts as she carefully stepped inside. "Seems like people've forgotten 'bout you too."

“It’s all gone.” Ellen growled. She had been traveling nonstop for the past few days, and was just finally coming to a new city. She kept her gaze steadily ahead of her as she stalked the streets. In her right hand, she held an iron whale harpoon. It was stained with dry blood and it looked rather old. Ellie actually deeply resented whale harpooning, despite the fact she had the harpoon in her possession. The wind picked up and Ellie began quickening her pace until she was sprinting nimbly through the abandoned streets. She twirled the harpoon like a baton carefully, her eyes darting from one side to the other. Ellie skidded to an abrupt halt, she was nearly in the heart of the city. She raised her head and glared up at the sun before turning her gaze back to the buildings that seemed to engulf her. Picking out a random building, Ellie silently dashed into its shadows. She stood there for a moment, taking in the sight of the run-down place. The ground was checkered with, large, scarlet and orange checkers and the wall was painted a deep red colour, similar to the checkers yet more inviting, and the paint was chipping off. Ellie sighed as she began exploring the hotel, watching the scattered furniture as if she expected a nameless terror to jump out from behind one. It was a rather eerie sight, furniture tossed about and the beautiful architecture in ruin. Not long after she had began making her way through the hotel, Ellie heard a loud scream. ‘What the hell..?’ she thought to herself in confusion as she began making her way towards the direction of the scream. Ellie made an effort to prevent from making a noise, carefully placing each step. She stopped once she turned the corner of one of the long halls. Farther down the ‘tunnel’ was a dim light flickering on and off. ‘What are you so scared of? It’s just a light.’ she scorned herself, even though the dim light did add quite the eerie effect to the, already creepy enough, backdrop. ‘Just keep going..’ she thought again, quickly making her way under the light and back into the shadows. ooc; that's all I can do right now cause I gotta go to bed.

(( The city I’m guessing is either Las Vegas or New York city, is one of those two? *looks longingly at the plate of brownies* Oh and sorry for taking long to post too XD i haven't roleplayed at all in a while, so it may take a while for me to post... )) Jacoby’s breath wreathed out almost like fog as the sweet dripped down his face. He closed his eyes tightly as he was walking right next to a road that almost seemed it was the middle of nowhere, the hot sun pouring it’s violent heat down on him. His clothes stuck uncomfortably to his body as he continued on. “Why… do these cities have to be… so far apart?” He panted out to himself, before glancing at his watch. It was only mid day, thankfully, so he had plenty more time to walk before it got dark. He blinked and let out a loud sigh of relief as he spotted the dim shapes of buildings climb up into the sky in the distance, the buildings getting larger with every step he took. “About time…” He grumbled to himself, wishing he had actually grabbed a few extra bottle of water from the last big town he was at before he’d left. He doubted there wouldn’t be water in such a big city, that would just be stupid. “Water better be cold here at least.” He chuckled as he kicked up dust with each footstep. “Hello, I’m mister alligator, are you as bored as me?” Reverend said in a weird voice as he played with this alligator head he’d found in the bar he’d walked into. The building was practically falling down, and crappy as anything, but he saw a fan and beer, so he had to stop in here. He glanced down at the grossly blood stained axe that sat on the table next to him, and he couldn’t help but shudder slightly. At least I’d rather be bored then have to wrestle my way through a hoard of zombies. He thought to himself, realizing just how thankful he was now for the dull, empty day so far. He turned his head slightly as the sound of a scream that sounded not too far off reached his ears, just loud enough for him to catch, and he blinked with worry. Maybe this city isn't as abandoned as it appears...

[[don't single Grayvs out pressure doesn't bode will with her productive-ness. D: and wow everyone in this roleplay is crazy. well maybe not Ellen. Saney-sane Stuart needs to get out of dodge. also, Bellagio I think? Brownie please.]] There was a sputter, and a jolt. The motorcycle slowly rumbled to a stop and started making a noise that sounded quite like it was dying. And after a moment of panicked movement from the motorcycles driver, it did, right on Las Vegas Boulevard. Faintly swearing, Stuart fumbled with the ignition. The irritating screeching as the ignition turned, made Stuart look up nervously, and he inwardly chastised himself for wearing a helmet. At this point, wouldn't it be better to crash and smash his brains all over the road? He shoved the visor up on his helmet, eyes roaming wildly over the empty street. The bike wouldn't start. Desperately, he tried again. It couldn't be out of gas already, could it? For a moment, he hoped that that was the only problem, not something wrong with the fuel pump... he didn't know if he'd be able to scrounge something up to fix it.
He finally gave up, the thought of going on foot made his stomach twist, but sitting out here trying to get the stupid thing to start was only going to result in a horrifying death. Stuart pulled his helmet off, set it down next to the curb, and stepped away from the bike. It was a 750 Honda Magna... he hated to leave it here. Maybe there was a chance it just needed gas... Where was the last gas station? He thought he could see one, up ahead, but couldn't be sure. Despite how unsure he was, and his growing unease, he adjusted the straps on his backpack and started walking, his hands clasping his crow bar tightly, as he cautiously walked down the street.
The scream made him jump, and he swore explosively as he wheeled around and stared at the building the scream had come from. It might have been his imagination, but he thought he saw the the shadow of someone enter the building. Was someone in trouble? He stood, debating silently. That scream was sure to get the attention of everything within a five mile radius, as dead quiet as this city was. Should he go in with the off-chance of finding someone and then getting eaten, or go on his way and pretend he hadn't heard anything? A part of him told him going in would be the stupidest thing he could ever do, but he found his feet moving without him, around cars and debris, Until he was staring at the depreciating fountain with growing dread.
The hotel looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn't tell you the name. Quite famous, from what he could remember... and too big. How could he find anyone in such a place? It was most likely the first ransacked for supplies, too. And who knows who could be living there... surely, he should be more afraid of the flesh-eating zombies... But it was the living and breathing people that made him the most nervous. He half turned, getting ready to go look for a gas station, but stopped. If there was a chance... the smallest chance to find someone out here who wasn't completely bonkers and completely alive... wasn't it worth it?
In resignation, he quickly headed for the hotels once glorious entrance. He was going to be sorely disappointed.

As Rin continued to raid the cupboards for food, Spazz wandered shakily around the room. Eventually he came to an almost hidden back room. It had a large steel door, with many bolt locks. Most-likely the freezer. Reaching out with an unstable hand, Spazz began undoing the locks. There had to be something in there. It was bolted shut still, after all. The door opened with a loud, echoey creak. Rin looked up from the cupboard she was digging through. "Hey! What are you doing? Making more noise?" She asked, curious as how this guy was still alive, being how noisy he was. Spazz's strained voice could be heard from the back of the kitchen. "Im just looking around..." He said, sounding unsure. Rin shrugged and went about her business. Spazz peered cautiously in the freezer. Due to the power being out for quite some time, it was no longer cold in the room, and it was dark. Very dark. 'You shouldn't go in there... Just lock the door. Leave this mystery be...' The voices chimed in Spazz's head. He attempted to get them to quiet down by shaking his head, but they only seemed to get louder. This caused him to pressure his head, to get the throbbing to stop. "Ugh. Cant you guys just leave me alone? You're constantly giving me bad advice..." He muttered aloud to himself. The voices chuckled. 'No dear boy.' They said with a honey-sweet tone. 'We don't give you bad advice. You just don't listen, correctly that is. But there is something not right about this. Just be a good boy, and shut the door...' They continued. With a heaving sigh, Spazz shut the door and bolted it shut once again. The voices did seem a bit desperate this time. After finding a few good snacks, Rin stalked around the kitchen, arms full, looking for a bag to put them in. Her last bag had been torn to shreds by hungry zombies. Clearly they would eat anything, including cheese-its (Which had been in Rin's last bag.) to feed themselves when no fresh meat was around. After a few minutes of searching though, she found nothing but garbage bags. "It will have to do..." She muttered to herself, flinging the snacks she carried into a garbage bag, before slinging it over her shoulder like Santa Claus. Spazz returned, jumping at every small noise he made when he accidentally kicked something on the ground. Because of the voice's warning, he had put himself on extra guard, just to be sure. In fact, when he stopped moving, he caught the noise of more people approaching. In fact, there was quite a few of them. "Shhh! They're coming... Oh, geez.... They're coming..." He began muttering, backing away, towards the freezer. "Who?" Rin asked, but Spazz was already hiding amongst the shadows. The girl srugged and smelled the air. She could detect a few people coming their way. "I told you you got people's attention!" She hissed back at the boy.
