"Oh I'm sorry." Aaron quickly apologized, he didn't want to make more enemies than he already had. "I should look where I am going. Nice to meet you, anyway." he smiled at her hoping she wasn't mad. It was hard not to push past someone in the busy hallways.

Teresa's blinked, taken aback by his apology. She'd expected him to fight back somehow. She could use a good argument to shed some stress.
As soon as he had spoken, though, she'd felt a tiny pang of guilt at snapping out so suddenly. She didn't really want to make too many enemies on her first day of high school.
And she'd already landed herself in an awkward position within a minute of being inside the school building. Swallow her pride and apologize, or be even more rude and just let it go?

"Stop." She found herself saying. "Just... don't aplogize. It wasn't your fault." She gave him an apologetic look, silently cursing her bluntness.

"I'm Aaron. You new?" he could tell by the way she was acting that she was new, not knowing how to act around people she didn't know. No one that wasn't new would be mean one minute then seriously sorry the next. He started to walk again, motioning her to follow, since a couple high school students were getting mad at them for slowing down the traffic of the hallway.

"Um." Was it that obvious? Teresa followed after Aaron, falling into step beside him and trying to keep up; her stride was smaller than his.
She nodded at his question. "I moved here last week. I like it here. It's open and clean. There aren't too many cars." On her roadtrip here, she'd seen enough of the horrible gas-spewing machines, and was glad to discover that the area she was moving to was slightly more bearable than other towns she had pa.ssed.

"Kind of." he replied with a laugh. "I moved here not long ago too. About a month ago. This is my third day of this school." he walked slower so that Teresa could keep up easier. ((sorry my brain is dead))

Ash walked into the high scool. It seemed so different then what she was used to. She glanced around. It seemed crowded. She spotted Teresa and walked that way. She usually liked being alone, but in this new place, she felt better being near soemone she knew, even if Teresa was only 14.

Teresa glanced at him when he slowed down slightly. Her eyes narrowed just slightly but she ignored it, looking forward again and shifting her bag slightly, not noticing that Ash was coming her way.
"I was supposed to come on the first day but I chickened out." She said honestly. "I've never really been to a place like this before. I got a private tutor where I used to live." She clamped her mouth shut, realizing that she had wandered into a dangerous topic; her old life.
She was already braced for questions that would have to come eventually, and she had a good way of answering them. Sort of.
She suddenly remembered that she had a set schedule for the day. Right. I have physical education. "Which way is the gym? It's my first cla.ss."

Seeing that Teresa didn't want to talk about her previous life he didn't ask any questions, not wanting to pry. He could tell by the way she changed subjects. "Just follow me, that's my first cla.ss too." Aaron saw a girl about seventeen walk up to him and Teresa. He stopped, wandering what she wanted.

Teresa turned curiously when Aaron stopped, and her eyes widened when she saw Ash. It was a relief to see someone that she knew and had grown up with, and she felt comfort wash through her, even if she didn't know her that well; Ash was three years older than her and tended to isolate herself.
"Hey, Ash." She said with a small grin.

"You know her? I thought you were new?" Aaron said, then he noticed Ash and how she was acting. "You're new too, aren't you Ash? You grew up together, not really knowing eachother but still knew of eachother." he could see the story plain on their faces, he could tell things by the way people act, just like he does with the animals. Like he always says 'if you only listen and open your eyes you will understand so much more" some people teased him that he paid too much attention to the little things in life and not so much on the big things.

Teresa saw Ash's ex
pression and her smile faded. Instead she nodded with understanding, her hazel eyes looking a bit edgy. It was all strange to her; the machines, the people, the routines. "It will get better. We have to do this." She whispered.
Aaron's voice interrupted her, and she hesitated before nodding. He was more perceptive than she was comfortable with.
Maybe I shouldn't stay too close to him. She frowned slightly, her ex
pression hardening. He'll notice something. She glanced at him.

"No one's going to hurt you, no one will find out about your past." Aaron said, trying to as.sure the jumpy girl. He could tell she was afraid but he didn't know of what, he knew it was somehow connected to her past...He needed more time to think, more time to think about the facts and try to get them straight before he knew too much about a person.

Teresa took a step back, startled by his words. Did he find out already? Her eyes narrowed in a halfhearted glare, but she didn't speak for a moment.
"I'm going to cla.ss." She said after a moment, her voice holding traces of wariness. She turned and walked off in the direction they had been going. She could already see the gym doors; getting there wouldn't be a problem anymore.
She wasn't sure what to think of Aaron. He seemed like a normal person, but he made her uncomfortable with his perceptiveness.
Then again, it wasn't like anything would happen if he found out. She doubted he would tell anyone.

"You notice a lot," Ash said, "Im Ash," She glanced around again. She didnt care if people found ou about her past, or if they wopuld hurt her. She didnt like this place because it was strange. Ash nodded to Teresa.

"I'm Aaron. I have to go, see you at lunch?" Aaron followed Teresa from a distance to the gym, he could tell she needed time alone so he didn't catch up with her. There was something about her past she didn't want him to know, something big. Aaron was not one to pry though so he decided to put the conversation out of his mind, if she wanted to tell him what was going on she will and at her own time. If she doesn't then it's none of his business.
