Drakine glanced at the man and narrowed her eyes as he bow changed into something spear-like. Shifting her feet, she threw it and the flaming spear landed in front of the man; the fire swirled around the metal chair. Her eyes slowly turned gold as she stalked over. Scales rippled over her skin.

The man's concentration broke and he let out a gasp. He swore under his breath and glared at the stalking Drakine. His anger broke the hold on his powers that was restraining him. He closed his eyes and healed the rest of his wounds. He laughed at Drakine. He raised his hand and watched as Drakine was lifted off of the ground in his unbreakable hold.

((telekenesis.))

Drakine squirmed in the unseeable force. She left out a shriek of frusteration as she shifted into her dragon form. Her golden eyes narrowed dangerously as she continued to squirm. "Lemme kill that cheatin' lying b*st*rd," she growled after letting out an extremely foul curse.

Drake's eyes widened. He pointed his hands up, palms out and touching each other for full force. Dangerous ice daggers flew out of his hands and were aimed at the man, but they bounced harmlessly off of an invisible shield he was holding up. The man looked at Drake. Drake built a spear and screamed at him as he ran at the man. "Let her go!" When he got close, he threw the spear. It pierced the shield, but it slowed as it neared. Drake shrieked and ran at the man. The man used one hand to hold Drakine in the air and he used the other to pick Drake up. He was examining both of them, the ripple of scales on Drakine, and the ice shards flowing from Drake's hands. He didn't notice Storm creeping up behind him.

Static sparks flew out of Storm's hands as he saw Drake and Drakine being lifted up into the air. He stealthily walked up to the man, a lightning bolt in his hands. He felt like Zeus. Grimacing, he walked behind the man. The shield had only been protecting his front. He raised the bolt and dug it into his back. The result was instantaneous. Storm leaped back as electricity coursed through the man's body, burning and devouring his insides. The man slumped down, dead. Storm turned away, not wanting to see it or smell it.

Drake fell out of the air with a heavy thump. "Ow." He complained before jumping up to check on Drakine. "Are you okay?" He asked her.

Drakine landed with a heavy thump and one of her wings crumpled awkwardly beneath her. Flailing her other, she managed to get to her paws. Furling her injuried wing against her side and grumbled an "I'm fine" to Drake as she shifted back to her human form. Her black eyes burned with frusteration. Then she turned around and stalked back off.

Drake looked at her hopelessly as she stalked away from him. He walked over to the man. Glancing up, he saw that Storm had his hands wrapped around his knees. He was crying. Ignoring the man, Drake walked over to him. "Storm. That man deserved to die." He said. "If you hadn't killed him, he would have killed me and Drakine." Storm looked up. "I know, but I don't want to be a murderer." Drake leaned down next to him. "You're NOT a murderer. You are Storm, savior and a hero." He pat Storm on the shoulder, stood up, and lent a hand.

Storm took Drake's hand and wiped the tears from his eyes. He nodded to Drake. "It's okay." As Drake started to walk away, he grabbed his arm. "I forgive you." He said in a whisper. Drake nodded and walked back to Drakine. "Drakine? Are you really okay? I'm sorry he hurt you." He said, not knowing what else to say.

Drakine glanced at Drake. This time, humiliation took the place of frusteration as her eyes shone with it. "I'm fine," she growled, putting a little force behind what she said. She kept her mouth closed when she wanted to say she wanted to draw and quarter him; like the French did before their Revolution.

Drake realized what was wrong. Drakine was embar*censored*ed. He put his arms around her. "I'm just glad he didn't hurt you. I don't know what I would do without you." He said, hoping to calm her frustration. "Don't worry. You'll get your revenge on the other b*st*rds when the war comes." He chuckled before he gave her a slight kiss on the cheek.

Drakine sighed and calmed down slightly. Though she was still mad. "Then I hope that war comes swiftly. I need to break some mortal heads together," she said, a small smile curving her lips.

Drake chuckled into her shoulder. "I think I do, too." He said, letting go of her reluctantly. He turned back to the mess of the man's body. "I'll clean this up." He told Drakine while trying to hold back the bile that was rising in his throat. The smell was filling the room and Drake knew he had to get the body out quick. A thought came to him then. He walked over to the man and let a large layering of ice cover the man's body. The smell was still there, but gradually, it faded. He picked the ice block up and slung it over his shoulders. Walking out of the room, he opened the door and found himself in the gym again. He didn't know what else to do until he remembered the cliff. He could probably throw him off of there.

Drakine nodded. The smell of death not really affecting her so much. She turned back to the targets and continued to practice her accuracy.

The weight on Drake's back was surprisingly light. The man was scrawny to begin with so Drake hauled him out of the school, trying not to get caught. No one was outside, for it was still raining. He eventually made it through the forest and onto the edge of the cliff. There, he set his burden down and stretched his arms. He didn't realize how close to the edge he was until the ice block tipped over the edge. Drake reached out to grab it, his natural instincts only realizing that he was falling over the edge. He cried out as the world rushed toward him. Fear and exhilaration taking over, Drake began to change. He looked around in surprise to see blue-tinged feathers growing out of his back. Frost enveloped his body and wings grew in place of his arms. Drake cried, a sharp, piercing noise, escaping his beak. He pumped his new, strong wings and watched as snow fell below him. He flew back to the top of the cliff and stumbled onto it, unsteady in this unfamiliar form. He looked down, examining himself. The only thought that came to his mind was that he was now a phoenix. He looked down at himself, a small la
yer of snow was falling from his outstretched wings. He shook out his wings, hail forming from them. He calmed himself, already knowing how his powers work, and changed back into a human. Then he ran back down to the secret training room to tell Drakine.

"Drakine!" He yelled. "Drakine! I have a new power!" He walked up to her, a huge smile plastered on his face.

Drakine looked up from the fireball she had created in her hands. She saw a smile on Drake's face. "Really? What is it?" she asked, unenthusiastically.

Drakine sighed and shook her head as she let the fireball disinigrate. Going up to the rack, she took a sword that held the right balance she liked. Rolling it around her hand, she twisted her wrist at the steel blade intercepted one of Drake's blows. "You still don't understand me yet," she said.

"I don't think I ever will." Drake said, desperation creeping into his voice. He drew his sword back, and struck in a wide arch, knowing she would block him again. "I would like to though." He said. "I want to know what you're thinking all the time. When your mad, sad, angry, or happy. I think I like it when your happy the most." He said, drawing closer to her. A question sparked in his mind. "Do you think you understand me?" He asked.

Drakine blocked it again, this time, she held the sword more like a dagger. Her head tilted. "In time you will learn most of those things. As for you; I am still looking in on your world. Seeing it, but not yet fulling understanding," she said as she bent her arm, allowing Drake to step closer.
