Blackie stretched and leaped onto the fence surrounding his yard. He looked over to the next one, hoping to see his friend Heather, but she wasn't there. Shrugging his lithe, black shoulders, he settled down to enjoy a nice afternoon nap in the hot sun.

Aurora was watching the cats through the enterance of the Queen;s den. She got up and shook the moss of her pelt her stomach looked as huge as ever. She purred walking out of the cave. She waited until most of the cats had eaten before walking over to the fresh kill pile and grabbing a small mouse. ~~~ Jaywing sniffed the air. He smelt the tow-leg dens near. He took a step closer his tail whipping from side to side as he caught the scent of a mouse. He krept up on it and pounced trapping it between his legs. He then bit down on its neck killing it right away. |

Blackie lifted his head at the sound of a dying mouse's squeal. He noticed a tom with a mouse in his mouth. Must be a newcomer. He thought, jumping down to the outside of his fence. "Hey!" he meowed, "I'm Blackie, I live here. You new around these parts?" he asked curiously. Maybe he'll be one of those Forest Cats. He wondered.

Jaywing took a step back,"Kitty-pet!" he said dropping his mouse," No...I have lived around here for a long time...My hole life now that I think about it. I live in the forest." He said backing up. He was about to turn around and run but he remembered his mouse and how starving his clan must be and with new kits coming...

Blackie looked at the cat in surprise. "You are a forest cat? You don't look as scary as the stories say you are. Do you really eat cats?" he meowed, a thousand and one questions waiting to be asked. "Are you going to eat that?" he mewed, pointing to the dead and limp mouse.

Blackie hissed, his lips curling, "Well, I was born a Kittypet and us Kittypets never said we liked the food and we aren't weak at all! Besides, those are old stories, I never said I believe them!" his fur rose at his hackles, his muscles bunched in preperation to fight.

Jaywing laughed,"I don't want to hurt you so it would be best if you go without trying to fight. Plus I have to leave we have queens that need food." He turned aroudn and started to walk away. |

Blackie followed, "Queens? Isn't that what you call an expecting she-cat? Is the mouse tasty?" he meowed. He realized that he had never learned the cat's name. "What's your name?" he asked. The sky was darkening, turning the forest black his pelt blending in with the shadows.

"Like I said, Blackie." He meowed, looking around. "Where are we?" he asked nervously. "My housefolk get worried if I'm not home by sundown. He shivered, not from cold but from fright. This was the first time he had ever been in the forest.

"We are almost to my clan. The might not be to happy that you followed me here." Jaywing said. He started to walk a little faster as they reached the enterance. He walked in and dropped the mouse in the fresh-kill pile. Aurorafang sniffed the air. Her pelt bristled as she smelt Blackie. She took a step back hidding in the shdows of the Queen's den. |

Otterbreeze stuck her head out of the nursery. "Who is that Jaywing?" she asked, not hostile. She stepped out and picked a small sparrow from the Fresh-kill pile. "He's not clan thought." she meowed. Blackie looked around curiously at the camp. "So this is your home?" he asked Jaywing. "It's a pretty nice place." He shrank back slightly under the gaze of the bristling she-cat. |

Leafstorm padded up to BLackie. "I see you found a friend Jaywing," she purred, amused. "He can stay for the night, show him a nest in the Warrior's den." she meowed. BLackie nodded, grateful for Jaywing. "Who's that?" he hissed under his breath to Jaywing, looking at Leafstorm with guarded curiousity. |

Jaywing laughed," That is our deputy. Her name is Leafstrom." He said leading Blackie towards the warrior's den. He left Blackie there and walked back out to find some moss to make Blackie a bed. Aurorafang layed down. She kept a stern eye on Blackie. She put her head down on the ground and felt a pain in her stomach. She screamed as the pain came again," Get the medicine cat! Hurry!" She told Otterbreeze. |

Otterbreeze hurried out of the den for Sapphirewind and realized that Sapphirewind had gone collecting herbs. (Only because eklipse doesn't seem to be on, if you are, I will edit) She ran back to Auroraclaw and crouched down beside her. "Help!" she wailed. Blackie settled down in the soft nest and fell asleep, only to awake at the sound of a cat in pain. |
