((Alrighty.))
After what seemed like hours of struggling, a brown-haired girl wearing tattered clothing washed up on the shore of an unfamiliar beach. She had cuts and scrapes all over her- they most likely came from the rough rocks in the quick-currented river. As she washed up on shore, she tried to get up, but she couldn't even keep her head up due to fatigue. Just by looking at her, you could tell that she'd been struggling for quite a while in the river.
Managing to pull her body out of the water and onto the shore, she finally succumbed into the darkness. She'd passed out.

((Is this in like a warm summer or in the middle of winter?)) A tall, black-haired boy walked along the side of a river. He was looking for food, but his gut had told him to keep on down the river. As he neared a bend, something caught his eye. His eyes widened. A girl lay on the edge. He quickly jumped down to her. "Miss, are you okay?" He said. No response. He put his hand on her stomach. Suddenly, his hand felt weird. He looked at it. It shined with white light. |

Zane, the girl, tried her best to move. All she could manage was to grab the boy's hand, which was on her stomach, just as she felt a warmth. Opening one eye, Zane saw the blinding white light coming from both her cuts and the boy's hand. And in a matter of seconds, all of her cuts were gone.
She couldn't bring herself to move. The white light on her stomach felt so warm compared to the cool river she'd just been in. Plus, she couldn't move much more if she wanted to.
((Um... it'll take place in the fall. The trees shall be pretty colors. <3))

Volsung, the boy, did not know what was happening. He felt he should leave his hand their, as she had grabbed it, but he could tell hypothermia was going to set in. "Its okay, Miss.I got you." He said,putting his other hand around her, lifting her up. He carried her up the bank to the edge, the started off toward his cabin. When he reached the cabin, he kicked open the door. He rushed toward the couch,then gently layed the girl down.

Though Zane knew she was being carried, she wasn't jostled at all as the boy carried her. She felt terrible. She couldn't even thank the boy for helping her.
When she was layed on the couch, she winced slightly, but not much. Though her wounds were healed, traces of pain rung through her bones. She must have been thrown against a rock. Luckily, though, no bones were broken.
"Thankyou." Zane finally spoke. Her voice sounded like her throat was dry, but she was far from dry. In fact, the girl was still dripping water from the river everywhere; she was waterlogged.

Volsung, the boy, looked at the girl. "You are very welcome. May I ask you, how did you get here?" He said. This was a very remote area, and she was the first person he had seen in Ten years. Volsung had came to this area to escape the war. He light a fire in the fireplace. His eyes instantly adjusted. They were very cat-like. He wondered about the light that had just came from his hand.

Zane put her hands over her stomach, and winced as she sat up, holding onto the side of the couch for support. She watched Volsung's cat-like eyes with much curiosity.
"I fell into the river." She didn't want to add any more details as to how she got into the river, due to her being not quite sure if Volsung was a shifter or a human.
"What's your name? I need to know your name so that I can properly thank you." She stared at Volsung with her deep brown eyes, which reflected the flames in the fire.

Zane swallowed heavily as she realized exactly how lucky she was. She would have died if she didn't stop here. It scared her.
When Volsung said that he had to go hung, Zane bit her lip and said, "Come back safe."
Though it was a phrase that she only used with close friends and family, she felt that Volsung was worth using the phrase. After all, he had basically saved her. If she would've been left on the river bank, anything could've happened to her.
Then her mind wondered back to the glowing that had occured earlier. She shivered, chills appearing on her arms. She wished that she could get out of those clothes and shift into a more warm form. Like the form of a wolf or tiger; anything with thick fur would do. However, shifting would have to wait until Volsung left, and then she couldn't stay in that form for long. What would Volsung do if he came back to his home and found a tiger or wolf laying on his couch where Zane once was?
Zane didn't want to know what would happen.

Volsung closed the door behind him, then went down into the riverbed. He made sure Zane could not see him. Slowly, his bones started to crack, his teeth grew. His hands became paws, fur grew all over his body. The fur was striped. He looked almost like a tiger, until his canine teeth kept on growing. The were massive. He roared, eager to hunt.
Volsung silently stalked a group of Roe Deer. He got as close as he would dare, then sprang forward. His huge fangs sank into the unsuspecting deer. A quick, clean kill. He slowly returned to his human form. After a quick check around, he skinned the deer. Volsung lifted it up on his shoulders and began the long journey back to the house. |

As soon as Volsung was gone, Zane stripped off her clothes so that they wouldn't get tangled around her during the transformation, threw the tattered, dirty clothes in a corner of the room, and shifted into a comfortable form.
Her bones readjusted and her muscles moved. Fur sprouted from her skin until the transformation was complete; she was not a siberian tiger. She got up onto the couch, sighing as the springs creaked in protest under her weight. She was at least twice as big as her human form, and she really shouldn't have been on a couch, but, hey, she'd almost drowned. She deserved to sleep.
Finding a comfortable position on the couch, Zane closed her eyes and drifted off into dreamland.

As Volsung neared the house, he smelt something different. Something not human. He shifted once more and roared. Whatever it was, he knew it would hear him. He sat a couple of feet away from the house, just in case. His huge cat eyes would not move. The scent of blood also made him more on edge.

Zane woke, startled out of her sleep. Her large yellow eyes were wide with a mixture of aggression and fear. And then it struck her. What on heavens and earth would be roaring that loud. Nothing lived in this part of the world that could roar like that.
Switching back into her human form, Zane slipped her tattered clothes on and hid in the bathroom. Whatever had just roared was something that was powerful; something that she didn't want to face right now. If she was in better shape, she might have challenged the creature, but all she wanted was to find a safe place to hide.
Curling up in a ball in the bathtub, Zane covered her eyes, trying to convince herself that more bad shifters weren't after her.

Zane uncovered her eyes, and scrambled out of the bath tub, running to Volsung and clinging to him. Her face was terrified, but she was glad that he was unharmed.
"There was.... A thing outside. It roared. I ran and hid and... and..." She started shaking, remembering the roars of the bad shifters that attacked her home. Tears formed in her eyes, but they didn't fall down her cheeks.

"It must have been a bear.."Volsung said. He had not meant to scare her. "Everything will be all right. I killed this deer, so we will feast tonight." Volsung took the deer around to the other side of the cabin and began to cut slices. Two huge holes marked on its neck showed where he had put the finishing bite. He got a clean knife and began to prepare it to cook.
