Zane looked curiously at the animal. She examined it up and down and looked to Volsung. "How did you kill this animal? It has no bullet holes or arrows in it. And there are two strange-looking marks on its neck." She pointed at the two holes which had been made by Volsung's large canine teeth.

"I...used a trap." He said, a little panic coming over him. He surely knew she would freak out if she knew the real way he had killed it. He kept on quietly cutting the meat, then made a fire. This would hopefully mask the smell of him on it.

Zane looked at Volsung suspiciously before sitting down on the couch. He was covering something up, and she wanted to know what it was.
"Why was your hand glowing when you touched me earlier? It was strange, but it felt warm." Zane swallowed, and looked to Volsung, waiting for his answer.

"I have no idea. It was certainly strange.I have never seen such a thing." Volsung said. He was cooking the meat, it was almost ready.
"I have a question for you..." Volsung said, looking at her with his blue cat eyes. |

Zane looked to Volsung again, taking in what he said.
When he stated that he had a question to ask her, she grinned. "I have an answer." She laughed lightly, happy that she could still manage sarcasm around complete strangers.

Zane frowned, pausing for a moment. Then she became angry. She shifted to her tiger form, her clothes ripping off of her, and started circling Volsung.
"If you so much as twitch, you will be a dead man. Why did you ask me that question. What side are you on in the war? Good or bad? Did the bad side send you to kill me? Speak now!" Zane's voice was the same as it was in her human form.

"Im not on either side."He said, startled at her sudden aggression. He did not want to test her, but his saber fangs began to grow. "What do you mean 'The bad shifters send me?'? Your the first person I have seen in ten years!"He said. Volsung look at the tiger. "I ask because it could explain the light earlier." Volsung reached down calmly and rotated the deer carcass.

Zane sat down, but she was still on edge. Her yellow, tiger-eyes stared up at Volsung. "I'm sorry for making accusations, but when you're like me, you need to be extremely careful." She would've shifted back, but she didn't have any clothes to change into. "Um... I'm seriously sorry, Volsung."
She sighed and layed down, curling her tail around her body. "So I take it you're a shifter, too. It's good that you haven't taken a side. I'm just avoiding the whole war together, but it seems like it follows me wherever I go."

"Its okay. And yes,i am a shifter."He said. He slowly began to shift, until his pure white pelt had formed along with his two saber teeth." That is why I live in such a remote part of the world. Like I said before, I have not seen another person in this area for ten years. I think the War is stupid. They should all get along."
He took a bite out of the meat. "Im..sorry for scaring you like that earlier. That roar came from me."Volsung said apologetically. |

Zane nodded. "I knew that whatever roared wasn't a natural creature." She walked over to the meat and took a bite also, swallowing it slowly. She took several more bites until she had her fill, rolling over onto her back, her white belly fur exposed to Volsung, and sighed.
"So, about the glowing hand thing. You healed my wounds. That was amazing. I wonder if you could do it again."

"I have no idea. It felt strange, like a tingling feeling." Volsung said, taking a few bites then resting his head. "How did you happen to get that form?" He asked, curious. He had never talked to another shifter.

Zane looked around nervously. "I was.... Born with it. Yes." She lied. Only one other shifter in the world- Volsung, but she didn't know- had the ability to shift into more than one animal like her. It would completely give it away if she told Volsung that she just was able to shift into this form normally.
She looked at the ground, trying not to let Volsung see her eyes.

"As was I."He said. "I come from an ancient clan of warriors who were all of my same species. I do believe I am the last one. My clan numbered very few before the war." Volsung sighed. He knew she was hiding something, but he was not worried about it.
"Many do not believe that we are still around, but I have proof." He lifted up his head, revealing a big tattoo on his neck. |

Zane, feeling a bit akward in her tiger form, decided to ask Volsung straightforward.
"That's cool. Do you have any clothes I can borrow. My other ones are completely destroyed," she said, nudging the pile of dirty, ripped clothes on the ground beside the couch.
Though Zane's face didn't get red at all, she was thoroughly embarassed.

"Um...yes."He said. He walked into the cabin, and went into a room. He got some clothes and a light coat for her. "Take these. Ill be out here."He said with a smile.

Zane shifted back into her human form, and put the clothes on, which were a pair of jeans, a green shirt, and a light brown coat. She came back out of the room that she had went into, and found Volsung. "Thanks."
