"What is up with you today?" Katrina murmured as she unhooked his shoulder strap. She leaned over his chest to unhook the other strap, consciously aware of how far apart their mouths were. What's up with me today? she thought irritably. With a slight dip to her brows that signalled a vague sense of confusion, Katrina unhooked Zakeru and slid the harness off of him.
Before either of them could have a chance to say anything while they were still so close, Katrina pulled away. She didn't trust herself for another minute to be closer to the boy, scared of what she might do. She worked on folding up the glider by kneeling down on the ground instead. Her fingers fumbled over the rods and she let out a huff of anxious frustration.
With a snap, she closed the last rod and the glider folded shut. "There," she said, but she stayed crouched, suddenly scared to face Zakeru again. What the hell...
