Zane slammed his fist against the table, glaring at the wooden surface angrily. "Isn't there something you can do?", he asked softly after a while, "Some way you could skirt around that tradition? But than the countries would be merged, and this would become a civil war..."

((I think it'd be funny if the two kings were friends and grew up together, and Selene's father *I forgot his name* started the war because Selene's mother died... Or something outlandish lie that. XD))
