Zane looked from Selene to his father as a servant came to get her than left. He shrugged, knowing that she'd probably be fine. "What is it, father?", he asked, sitting down once again.

Selene hesittanly followed the servent up to "her" room. ~ "Zane, I'm not going to lecture you in the affairs of love, but do you even realise the danger you are putting every one in?" King Arzyn asked, his tone remained calm and unscolding as he spoke... He let out a low sigh and looked Zane in the face once again, awaiting his son's answer. |

"Father, don't bother. I know you're about to tell me not to love her, to let her go, to never speak to her again, but I could never do that.", Zane said, looking after Selene, "And if you try to capture her, or harm a hair on her head, I swear to yo that I won't hesitate to run away with her, and I will destroy anything in my way to do so."

"I was not going to tell you to do any of that." He replied, his tone stern and a little harsh. "I know you love her, I was going to tell you that if you goon with your plan as it is now, it may be a long while before you two tak or see eachother again... Or you two run away from here... Run as far away as you can... But even then you two might not be able to marry...." Hecontinued to say, his tone regaining it's normality. "it is up to you my son... You're brother vanished... Half of me expected you to do so too if you found love...." He sighed... |

"If we run away, she will not be safe.", Zane said softly, "It breaks my heart to see her go, but I would have no reason to live if she were killed in our flight."

He sighed ten looked at the sky. "The sun will be setting in a littlewhile..." He muttered absently, a smll smile playing on his face. |

The Ball room was decorated perfectly for the occasion, the chandeliers dimly lighting the room, tables with white linen cloths and vases filled with beautiful red roses. The peachy walls danced with shadows as the small band of musicians played an elegant waltz. Zane entered the room clothed in a fine tunic that was a deep blue, silver embrodery weaving across it. HE looked around for his father and Selene, not imideatly setting his eyes on the two. |
