Katherine could hear noises outside her booth and got up to investigate. She slid the door open a few inches and peeked out, seeing a boy her age outside. "Who are you?" she asked, opening the door a bit wider. Her gray eyes watched the boy questioningly, with an age-old wisdom in them.

Alex stopped walking when he heard a voice near him and spun around to face it. "Oh," he said softly, seeing that she was talking to him, "I'm Alex Gunner." he said. She surprised him enough to make him forget about the others. He took a step towards her. "Um, and who are you?" he questioned. The way she was peeking out of the door seemed a bit weird.

Katherine blushed and opened the door fully, realizing it must look odd for her to be peeking out of her booth. "I'm Katherine Summers, a 1st year at Hogwarts. I heard some noise outside, is everything alright?" Her voice was soft and low, almost unhearable to some people.

(( Lol ok. I think I know where my mouse is so I'll go get it :3 )) Alex smiled, he was used to shy people and could easily hear them as long as people weren't making a racket. "Nice to meet you, Katherine! I'm a first year, too!" he exclaimed. "And yeah. Everyone's being their weird selves, but we're all fine." He smiled at her. She seemed nice enough. He looked into the compartment behind her. Empty. She was just like him, she didn't know anyone either. "Umm, mind if I join you?" he asked, trying to be friendly. |

Katherine blushed an even deeper red, unused to people being kind to her. They were usually intimidated by her eyes, which her father always said held a wisdom far beyond her years. "Umm...sure..." she managed to get out, moving to the side so Alex could get in. "What do you think about magic so far?" she asked, trying to be friendly.

Cori looked a bit puzzled, since there was a girl talking to Alex directly across from her compartment, then looked up at the boy who hadn't introduced himself. "Oh, I guess that leaves you and me. If you want, you cans it with Alex, I mean, we would still be across the hall from each other." She left him with that, wanting to introduce herself to the new face. Poking her head into the compartment, she smiled. "Hello, I'm Cori. Alex already knows me, I mean, we've known each other for so long." The last part, she added sarcastically, referencing to her act earlier on in the Slytherin booth. "We should open our doors so we can talk. In the section 'cross from this one is Kylie and Sai, and me, of course, so we could talk."

Alex stepped into the compartment and sat down. He saw he blush and it was making him feel a bit awkward. Her eyes also seemed a little bit strange but, hell, he'd just gotten out of sharing a compartment with a pink-haired to-be Slytherin. Nothing was going to phase him. He stared up at her when she asked him the question. "Well, I grew up with it, so it's pretty much the norm for me..." he frowned. "Are you new to the whole magic thing?"

Katherine shook her head, "I've been dying to go to Hogwarts for years. Been practicing as well. I already know some of the basic spells." She wasn't trying to brag, but Katherine had the habit of stating the facts, which many people took as bragging or boasting.

His parents had wanted to go to Hogwarts and actually learn so they had forbidden practicing spells. He'd still done so behind their backs, but he hadn't gotten too far. |

"Well, it's like I always say, everyone has a shot just not everyone takes it." He smiled at her again. "I'm sure you'll do great, whatever you want to do." He leaned back in his seat and handed her one of his Chocolate Frogs. "Here, maybe you'll have better luck than I do." He stuck his tongue out and rubbed the back of his head in embaras-sment. |

Katherine grinned again and took the chocolate frog, smiling at the sweetness that exploded in her mouth when she bit it. "Oh, look!" she said excitedly, pointing to her card. "It's Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts!"

She hadn't given the from any time to jump before she ate it. Amazing. He turned his attention to his own Chocolate Frog and, ready to pounce on it, opened the box. The frog lunged out before he could move. It jumped onto the seat in front of him and he lunged, crashing into the seat in an attempt to catch it. It dodged and jumped out of the compartment, leaping away as Alex stared at it go in wonder. He sighed, still slumped against the seat. "And there it goes... like always." he said sadly. He didn't even bother to check which card he got. The frog mattered more to him then the card. |

Sai looked up and jumped at the same time as his name was said, dropping the large ring he had been clutching. Thudding to the floor, the green and silver Slytherin crest leered up at Wes. Lin swiped it up and bowed to Wes, speaking a few words in Japanese befre remembering and switching to english. "Nice to meet. I am Lin Saikan, but you may call me Sai or Sai-san." He sat down and studied the boy's face, exploring the scars and packmarks with his eyes, thinking to himself how wonderful it would be to draw, with the complexities and the mussed hair. Sai decieded it would be better to get to know him before drawing him, so he smiled and said slowly, "You are not London, no?" Sai didn't exactly know how to ask where he was from, so decided instead to go with the almost impossible to understand english, intead of spouting gibberish at the poor boy. Looking down into his bag, which was actually magic, he saw the piles of candy his mother had managed to fit into the expander, and sighed. He wondered how his mother would send him letters, as Sake wouldn't be able to fly all the way to London from Japan. He sighed and bent over his drawing of Kylie, his dark hair shadowing his face, but he really wasn't thinking about the art. He was dreading all the fast talking teachers and getting sorted, because if he didn't end up in Slytherin, his father would be extremely displeased. He had lied a bit when he had said that his father was a muggle. Yukio Lin was a powerful force in Japan, and had been a student in Hogwarts long ago. Squeezing the heavy ring in his hand, he felt the silver snake's fangs dig into his palm, and he stared down, thinking hard.

Randie returned to the compartment she was at before.Her cat,Snake,hadn't left yet and wasn't going to be left there.She just sat down in the same place before,twas better than hanging with a to-be Gryffindoor.So instead of bugging Jess she went back to petting Snake.
