[[Lol, alright. It's probably going to be a failpost since I feel a bit out of it today and I haven't posted for these two in a while XD]] "Elliot, Jasper." Jess' head snapped up when he heard his name being called. His eyes narrowed slightly. He didn't like anyone but his Grandfather calling him by full first name. It was like trampling on sacred ground to him. It was something only his Grandfather had the right to do. Even his parents called him by his nickname. This would probably be the last time he heard it, though. Most professors would call him by his last name anyways. If anyone would be less formal with him, which he doubted anyone would, the would probably use his nickname. He strode up to the sorting hat with the confidence that only a to-be Slytherin could have. He had barely gotten onto the chair (curse his shortness) before the hat was placed on his head. Without a second's hesitation the hat called out "Slytherin!", causing him to smirk in a knowing manner. He slid off the chair awkwardly and went over to his new table, sliding into an open spot. --------------------- Alex watched the new Slytherin make his way to his table. He couldn't help but frown, even if he had known it was coming. Everything about that boy had screamed Slytherin. Still, he didn't have much time to dwell on it, as his name was the next to be called. "Gunner, Alexander." Alex walked up to the front nervously. It felt like all eyes were on him and they probably were. He was never much of a front-of-the-crowd kind of guy. He reached the front and sat up on the chair. He was taller than Jess, so it was easier to get onto it. The sorting hat was placed on his head and he closed his eyes, swallowing at the dryness in his throat caused by his anticipation. The sorting hat seemed to be thinking over him. It was an odd feeling and Alex rubbed his shoes together nervously, a strange habit he'd picked up somewhere. It helped calm his nerves and gave him something to do. He was slightly worried that the sorting hat might reject him altogether. Even if it had never happened before, there was a first for everything. He'd hate to have to go back home. Even if he was just a half-blood, he still had wizard parents that he'd hate to disappoint. They'd seemed so proud when they had dropped him off at the station. "Ravenclaw!" The sorting hat's voice cut through Alex's thoughts like a dagger, causing him to jolt violently. It was pulled off of him and he looked around, slightly confused, until the professor nudged him lightly on the shoulder in the direction of the Ravenclaw table. He went over to it, stumbling once at the bottom of the stairs, and sat down shyly. He was pat on the back by an older Ravenclaw that gave him an encouraging look. Alex smiled gratefully before turning his attention back to the dwindling group of new students.

((Did no one see my post about Feyth wanting to be an animangus? >.<)) "Thatch, Corrine!" Cori looked up abruptly as her name had been called, the girl previously not paying attention and tying her shoe. She stumbled forwards and a girl behind her giggled, to which Cori reminded herself to ignore, nervously walking up on stage and sitting on a stool. Pressure on her head and an intrusion of her thoughts alerted her that the hat was on her head, and it began to ramble on as she felt it sorting through her memories. Her terrifyed green eyes looked over by Wes, desperate for support from an already-sorted friend, wondering if the hat always felt like this. It began to clear up, as the hat had almost made it's decision, Cori deciding to listen. "Ah, decided to pay attention now, Corrine?" The gruff voice of the hat adressed her, a few giggles from some of the kids as Cori's face reddened, remembering that the hat knew if she was listening. "Whether or not you had been listening, the choice is somewhat clear. Though you could be useful in a powerful house like Slytherin, your heart leads to... GRYFFINDOR." It announced proudly, the pressure lifting off of her head and the girl rushing over to Dusk, sitting next to her only friend in her house so far. Cori's eyes darted over to Wes at the Ravenclaw table, smiling and giving a short wave to him as she tried to express how happy she was that the hat sorted her into Gryffindor.

((Well, we sorta went on without you because we thought you dropped out. xD Sorry .3.)) Kylie was watching as the people were sorted into their houses: Slytherin, Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Griffindor, Ravenclaw. One house after another. She barely could hear the names being called, the houses they were sorted into, or even the cheering of each house. She only noticed the people walking towards their tables. "Turner, Kylie," A rather harsh voice called. No one stepped up to the stool. Again, the voice called Kylie's name. Yet, again, no one walked to the stool. Kylie was off, staring at the ceiling which she now noticed was the night sky, but without all the effects of it. A small nudge in her ribs caught the young girl's attention. A voice saying it was her turn made Kylie's heart drop. A small figure walked to the stool and sat down, awaiting for what the wretched old hat would say about her. Then as soon as the hat was placed on her head, only Kylie could hear a small voice in her ear. Hmmm.... Another 'different' one, eh? You seem dangerous, yet awefully clever. Ravenclaw seems appropriate, but I sence some evil in you... Kylie's face flushed as she heard the words of the old hat. She looked down at her toes, which were tapping against the side of the stool. And the voice continued. You could be someone brave, or someone just absoluetly normal... But again, you aren't normal... You're not even human... What's amazing is your not the only non-human in this place... "Guess it will have to be... RAVENCLAW!" Kylie's face brightened up as she heard her favorite house called. She practically threw the horrid hat off of her head and shoved it onto the stool. A wide smile burst onto her face as she walked to her house table, smiling and waving at Sai, in the Slytherin house only a table away, and sat down next to a boy she didn't know: Alex.

[[I read it. I don't think it takes that long, though, seeing as James, Sirius, and Peter all did it within their time at Hogwarts. I'd say no one should be an animagus before fourth year, though... I was actually kinda hoping Alex could be a tiger animagus some time around fifth year... ^^;]]

((Kylie's already a werewolf so she doesn't want to be an Animagus. xDD And yes, I agree that it should be around 4-5 year before they start to be able to become like a half/full one. xD))

[[Aw geez! Why'd you have to say half? XD Now I have a mental image of Alex running around Hogsmeade with tiger ears and a tail! >A<;;]] Alex turned to the new girl giving her a shy smile. "Kylie, was it?" he said, "I guess we'll be in the same house then." He gave a nervous laugh, unsure if what else to say. He held out his hand for her to shake. Although he hadn't met her on the train, there was no sense in not being friendly. They were practically family now. Well, at least that was how Alex saw it.

((Sorry. xDD That would pretty hilarious though. xDD)) Kylie was clapping wildly for Cori when she heard her name. She turned to face the boy she was sitting next to. "Yeah, that's right! You're... Alex?" Kylie asked, shaking the boy's hand happily. She was always up for new friends, no matter who they were. She beamed brightly at Alex, hiding her unnaturally long canines expertly. She paused and let go of Alex's hand, feeling weird for shaking it for so long. She paused and laughed lightly. "I didn't meet you on the train..." She said with a small smile. "It's good to meet you now, though," She added with a small laugh.

[[True XD But I'm a bit sick of cat-boys at the moment, so right now it's just annoying =_= *imagines a guy in a white suit chasing Alex with a magic net* The things I will think about at three in the morning... XDD]] Alex smiled at her again, this time feeling a little more confident. He knew people who would chew someone out just for saying "hello". He was glad this girl wasn't like that. "Correct. Alex Gunner." he answered. "The train ride was kindof... weird for me, so I'm not surprised I didn't see you." Once his hand was released, he rested it on the table and used it to prop his chin up. He glanced at the empty trays in front of them, wishing they were filled with food. His stomach grumbled and he frowned. He hadn't eaten all day. As usual his chocolate frogs had gotten away from him and he was sure that Jess kid had stolen his Bertie Bot's Every Flavor beans. He sighed, hoping the sorting would be done with quick;y.

((It's only midnight here. :3 And I get whacky more around 5:30. xDD)) "Wel, it's nice to meet you, Alex Gunner," Kylie said with a grin. "And I fell aseep on the train..." She admitted bashfully. It was her goal to stay up and watch the greenery pa.ss by to her new destination, but that never happened. Kylie noticed how the boy next to her looked at the empty plates, only making her realize how hungry she was too. She licked her lips in anticipation. From her sibling's memories and stories, the food here was supposed to be amazing. Kylie shook the thought from her head and resurfaced to the real world. "So... Why was your train ride wierd?" She asked Alex curiously, trying to get her mind off of her grumbling stomach.

[[Lol, I find time differences amazing. I don't know why, though XD]] Alex flicked his gaze back to Kylie, lifting his chin off his hand slightly. He realized he had been drooling slightly at the thought of food and made a disgusted sound. "Ugh, sorry." he muttered, wiping his mouth on his sleeve. He frowned in frustration. How stupid did you have to be to start drooling without realizing it? It kind of contradicted the whole Ravenclaw thing. He shook his head slightly before turning his full attention to Kylie. "See that pink haired Slytherin?" he asked, pointing subtly to Jess, "I ended up sitting with him for most of the trip and invited another one in as well. Wes came in also and Cori ended up having to save us both." He gave a nervous laugh. "I really did think that kid would eat me alive."

((How many of us are in gryfindor?)) Dusk felt the desk rumble as Cori sat down and she stared blindly at the wall, glad that Cori hadn't wondered why she w*censored*taring at the wall instead of her. Her sensitive ears picked up the sounds of the last name being called and he was sorted into Hufflepuff. She sighed, it was over. She pushed her shot hair out of her eyes, not that it mattered, and then listened intently as the Headmaster spoke a few words-more like a well-rehearsed speech- to the first-years and the other kids coming back...

[[Look, Feyth, although it's not my position to say, I don't think anyone should have started training to be an animagus before this RP started. Past all the glamor of being able to transform into an animal, the process itself is difficult and dangerous. I really doubt anyone under the age of eleven would be able to even start the process. James and the others did it in three years and accomplished it in their fifth year. This is a Harry Potter RolePlay so I really don't think we should try to bend Rowling's ideas just for the sake of transforming into an animal a few years early. Other than that, I've gotta wait for Kink to post XD]]

((Nice guys. xD I still hold a pretty clear position on that if you're character is going to be an Animaus, they should be able to do it in their 4th or 5th year of Hogwarts. :3)) Kylie laughed slightly at Alex's reaction to his own drooling, probably for the food that wasn't here yet. Her eyes followed his pointed hand to the boy with pink hair, and she smiled. "The pink hair seems much more happier than the way you describe him," She said with a small laugh. "It's amazing... A boy -A dude!- with pink hair. I thought I'd never see the day..." Kylie laughed at her own stupid joke, not caring how big of an idiot she seemed to be. Kylie looked down, only to realize her biggest dream came true: Food. It appeared out of nowhere, plates of the most delicious looking food she'd ever seen. She stretched her neck so she could see the rest of the table, and it was filled with food also. Kylie's face beamed as she filled her plate with chicken wings, mashed potatoes, and some greens. It was important for her to eat her vegatables, that's what her mom taught her.
