"I wonder where Holly is," she said in a curious voice. Holly was a flammulated owl, with a red ribbon tied around her foot. Josh walked into the cafeteria, still smiling to himself.

Charlotte's ears were ringing as one of the lady scooped some of the stuff onto her plate. Josh mumbled, "I'll be back," into the woman's ear and slipped into the kitchen.

Josh slipped back out of the kitchen, a plate in his hand. He walked up to one of the women again. "I'll have one scoop, please." The woman stared at him for a moment, then obeyed. Charlotte stopped, and stared at him. Josh looked at her from under his shaggy bangs. "Just curious," he said in a toneless voice.
