Dravius blinked slowly, and then, litle by little, his breaths loweed, his pupils enlargened, and he stopped shaking. Then he clenched his jaw and dropped his head into his arms. He was breathing hard, coughing and shaking with fear. He was slick with sweat, and looked at Trinity with eyes not unlike a cornered animals, darting around.

"There's no time for apologies," Jash rasped. "This is not your fault, this is those guys' fault. Right now, I'm concerned about my life and getting out of here." Larine nodded weakly in agreement to Jash's words. She staggered as she walked towards her brother, unsteady on her legs, full of exhaustion. Larine took another gasping breath. Her lungs filled with air, which felt like burning fire. "We must grab whoever we can and go," she wheezed.

Trinity looked around. There was her, Alex, Dravius, Larine, and Jash. That was five altogether, not a bad number. She looked around at the others stuck in cages, scared, some unchanged, and others freakish, hiding. "I think we should-" she was interrupted by the noise of footsteps approaching at a fast speed and the sound of angry voices. "-Run," she finished. |

Jash sucked in some air, and looked around frantically for an exit. Nothing so far. Thoughts of panic whirled around in his head, flitting around like flies. "There's got to be somewhere, there has got to be somewhere," the teenager muttered in a low tone to himself. Larine grabbed Jash by the arm, with sharp, red claws. Her blue eyes flashed, and she whispered urgently in his ear. "Don't think right now. Just run for the hills already! No time to think." Larine then rushed forward, trying to pull Jash away with her. Jash shrugged off her tight grasp as if she was just an insignificant insect, and ran ahead of her. Larine sighed, then followed behind Jash. Why couldn't he accept that no matter what age she was, she was his equal?

Alex led the way. He turned around to hurry the siblings impatiently. "There's a door I know of," he said quietly. "It's right...." He ran down a hallway full of cages. People all looked at them, rattling the doors of the cages, their eyes looking pleadingly at them. We need to come back and free them... he thought. He finally stopped at the door that led to freedom. Footsteps were not far behind. "Here," he said. "This is the exit..." |

Dravius got to his feet, looking around suspiciously. With a start, he trotted after Alex, feet making virtually no noise as he followed suspiciously. He kept up easily, and his breathing didn't change as he ran, red eyes glittering in the dim flourecent lights. "Where will we go?" He asked quietly, his voice worried. "There is a town about ten miles away." He stated, lips moving quickly. As they reached the door, he stopped and blinked twice, looking at the formidale metal way to freedom.

The footsteps were growing louder with each pas.sing minute that they stood. Larine thought that she could now hear urgent shouts of their captors. The girl held her breath. What to do if we go past the door? Jash noticed Larine's thoughtful expres.sion. He groaned, when now he could hear the shouts of alarm. Jash grabbed Larine by the shoulder. "We need to go," he announced. Noises were growing even closer. Jash's heart thumped against his chest rapidly... "Now."

Trinity swung open the door, and ran fast. Faster than she remembered ever running before. She knew that if she were caught, she'd be brought back to that awful, horrid place again. Another thing she knew was how good it felt to be free again. She didn't think about her new appearance, or her gained freakish abilities; she thought about how she was enjoying the gr*censored* under her feet and the trees... Ah, the building was located in some forest. This probably meant that the group was far from home. Trinity's running, however didn't slow down by a fraction. She hoped that the others were running too. Beside her she could hear Alex's heavy breathing. Good...
