 Kara slept soundly until she heard footsteps padding up to her. She groaned and turned over only to have a small puppy jump on her. The small animal barked and pawed at her face until she woke up. Grumbling Kara got out of bed and stretched. She looked at the clock and read the emerald green numbers, 3:00 am.

 "Why do you always wake me up so early?" she asked the small Australian Shepherd at her feet. In response he circled her legs until he stopped and barked at her again. "Alright Azul, I'll feed you." she chuckled. It took a couple of minutes for Kara's eyes to adjust to the blinding light that flashed on when she flicked a switch. She grabbed the brown dog food out of the top mahogany cabinet and poured it into a small blue dish. 

 Azul ran to the bowl and gobbled down the food as if it was his last meal. Turning to the refrigerator she opened the door and sifted through the food. At last she found leftover pancakes and she set them in the microwave. When the machine dinged Kara enjoyed her breakfast as she watched her dog chomp on what was left of his.

With a sigh, Ashlee dragged herself out of bed. She walked to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Her eyes looked sleepy and her long, black hair was in disarray. WIth a sigh. She began to brush through it, and was interupted bya soft growling sound. She looked sideways to see Liam standing in the doorway, still in his wolf for, "aw does the puppy wanna go outside?" she teased in a baby voice, "does he? Oh the good puppy is gonna have to beg! Some on Liam, beg!" she taunted. Liam's growl became louder, so Ashlee walked over and opened the door, and Liam bolted out with a jubilant bark. Ashlee giggled and went back to doing her hair. Once it was finished, she fed Snowy and applied her makeup. THen she looked through her drawers for something to wear, and decided on some dark-rinse, ripped up flare jeans, a purple tank-top, and a purple-plaid jacked for over the top.((my favorite outfit XD))

Liam ran up and down the halls, trying to burn off some built up energy. He stopped after his third lap of the dormitory, panting slightly. He sat down on his haunches and looked around. The place seemed deserted. . .

Kara finished eating and put her syrup covered plate in the sink. Azul jumped up by the door and dragged his navy blue leash over to her. He barked dropping the leash at her feet. His tail thumped on the ground wildly as Kara attached the leash to the matching collar around his neck. He bolted for the door once the leash was securely attached. She chuckled before looking down at her light blue pajamas with little monkeys on them.

“Wait here while I get changed.” She told her loyal pet. He looked up at her and turned his head to the side, his ears flopping down as he did so. He whined when she closed the door to her bedroom. She quickly put on a violet chemisette and charcoal jeans before entering the kitchen again. Picking up the leash she exited the dorm room heading out to the grounds.

The two of them walked around for a bit before Azul sat next to a tall pine tree. He sniffed around before doing his business.  When he was finished Kara took a small bag out of her pocket and scooped up what Azul left behind before continuing the walk. The grounds were quite except for a couple of birds chirping and squirrels quarreling. The returned to the dorm and stopped by a garbage can to get rid of the extra baggage.

    Sara awoke again to the sound of sausages sizzling on a skillet. The smell of cooked meat filled the air. She reached for Reese, but noticed she was gone. She opened her eyes and spotted Dessen's figure leaning over the stove. She smiled and got up out of her bed.

    Reese begged pitifully, waiting for a sausage to fall from the skillet. "Ah, alright, already," Dessen said throwing down a sausage. Reese let out a small yip and gobbled up the sausage like it was the last thing she would ever eat. Reese walked over to Sara and rubbed her leg, wanting attention. With every step Reese took, a jingle came from the I.D. tags attached to her collar.

    Spike was on Dessen's bed, silently sleeping. Dessen finished the cooking and sat the meal on the small dining room table. "Come and get it before I eat it all!" He was dead serious about eating it all. Sara ran to the table and piled her plate full of food.

A few minutes later, the food was gone and the two of them were full. "We need to get ready for school," Dessen said, reminding Sara.

"We do," she said pulling a strand of platinum blonde hair behind her ear. She ran to a small changing room and slipped on some ripped up blue jean shorts and a cute t-shirt. She walked out of the room and into the bathroom.

Her blue eyes examined her face in the mirror as she brushed her hair. She pulled a drawer out, rummaged through it, and pulled out a headband. The headband was red with white polka dots. She put it on her head, still leaving her bangs free to flow about.

When she came back into the room, Dessen was already ready. He was wearing a pair of dark jeans that complemented his dark skin tone and black hair, and a dark purple t-shirt.

Dessen had filled a two dog bowls with some dog food before exiting the kitchen. "You ready," he asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," she said walking towards the door and opening it.

Kara entered her dorm and unhooked the leash from Azul's collar. He ran around as Kara filled his water dish with crisp clean water. Azul knew that his master was going to leave so her tugged on her jeans. When he got her attention he walked over to the cabinet that concealed his treats. She put one in a small hallow toy and threw it across the room. She left swiftly as Azul chased the red toy.

"Be good." she told him as he got to work. She walked down the hall humming on of her favorite songs. She looked around at the dull building. The fluorescent lights above her head buzzed softly. "Almost there." she muttered turning the corner. What she saw when she turned puzzled her. A girl was standing in the hallway and a wolf was growling at her.

"You must be a student." Sara could barely tell, but his thoughts were human. Dessen walked into the hallway and saw a huge wolf growling at his little sister.

"Back off," he said menacingly. He snapped his fingers and his hands were engulfed in flames. Dessen was extremely protective of his little sister, she was the only thing he had. Sara turned around and glared at Dessen.

"He's a student, idiot." She turned around to Liam and smiled. "Hi, I'm Sara."

Kara cautiously walked over to the group. So the girl’s name was Sara and the guy can manipulate flames. She took note of the abilities in her head as she neared. The male seemed protective of the girl. Kara started to get nervous as she neared the three. She was never really a talker but more of an observer however she could hold a decent conversation with someone if she needed to. 

“Um… hi I’m Kara. I’m new here.” She said in a small voice. She wondered if they even heard her. She started to get cold which happened every time she was nervous or scared. Her one friend used to call her cold blooded because of this but their relationship did not last very long. Kara heard a bark coming from the end of the hall. She turned around to see Azul stumbling along the hallway to get to her. When he reached her she picked him up. "This is Azul, he is my pet and my best friend."

"Yes, I can read minds." She turned around to Dessen and let out a giggle. "You don't scare him, Dess."

"Well, I wasn't planning to scare him. I was planning on protecting you from a huge wolf." The fire on Dessen's hands went out.

"This is Dessen, my big brother," she said poking Dessen in the chest.

Liam dipped his head, nice to meet you. He thought, am I really scary enough for him to need to protect you? he asked. His ears perked up and he turned his head in time to see his sister walking toward him.

"Liam!" she said angrily, "what are you doing!" she stopped and placed her hands on her hips, "I could hear you growling from down the hall, do you want to get kicked out of another school because you can't be nice?" she asked.

That's my sister Ashlee. Liam thought, She can read minds too.

"Yeah, I can," Ashlee said, rolling her eyes, "even though he doesnt seem to have one." she added as an afterthought.

Sara giggled a bit. "I don't think you're all that scary, I think you're kinda cute as a wolf." A girl came walking out of the hallway. She looked kinda mad.

"Ha, nice to meet you, Ashlee. I'm Sara, this is Dessen," she said pointing to herself and then to Dessen. "I can read minds and he is a fire elemental." Sara's blue eyes looked at Ashlee and then to Liam.
