"The truth. If they don't bu it then yay for us but if we don't tell them the truth their just going to find out some other way and when they do I kind of don't want to feel their wraith." He whispered back.

Paige just kept her eye forward and continued walking. He body was on auto-pilot from the shock. She wasn't even the one who was getting...tested on she guessed and she was freaked out. Her body kept moving and just followed the others while her brain could think for a little bit.

"Wimp," said Alec, flashing him an evil grin before turning serious again. "Honestly, Kasey," he muttered, "we are so dead if They find out she's with us. We have to tell them, but where can we when we're monitored twenty-four seven?"

Kirsty looked at Paige. "You OK? Do you know what the heck's going on?" she asked in a low voice. Her eyes looked a little feverish and her cheeks were red, contrasting sharply with her other-wise still-pale skin.

((Grr sorry I was gone))

"I don't know block the cameras. We've done it before plus I don't thing they can hear us through the cameras." He didn't know what to do but they had to tell them. "I don't want to find out first hand what the girls will do to us to get us to tell them the truth. Their brutle." He looked over his shoulders at the girls.

"Uh..yeah. I'm fine. I'm great. I'm...hungrey." She said as she thought about it. She hadn't eaten for about 2 hours which is about the longest time she's gone with out eating for a long time. She can eat a lot and very frequently too. It's a wonder she isn't gaining weight. She must have a fast matabolizm or something I mean she's only about 5 feet tall and about 75 pounds.

"Huh," muttered Alec. "And if we use our powers we could very well be...um...disposed of." His eyes darkened, deep in thought as he wracked his brains. "C'mon...think!" he mumbled to himself. Glancing at Kasey, he managed a grin. "What a mess, hey?" he commented wryly. "What a dangerous, stupid mess."

"OK..." Kirsty let a small grin flash through. "Random. But seriously do you know what the heck's on with this place?" She added, shivering slightly as they turned a corner, heading toward the dining room where the borders ate dinner and breakfast.

((YAY! How was it?))

"Indeed." Kasey said thinking about what they should do. He thought about what he said and couldn't help but chuckle a bit at himself, "Ha. I said "'Indeed'" As they rounded the corner  he saw at the end of the hall the dining room where they always ate. The room had a faded floral carpet underneath the long dark oak wood table and the matching chairs to protect the tiled floor from being scratched. The walls were covered in roman style pictures on slightly shimering gold wallpaper.

Paige could smell the food cooking in the next room from all the way down the hall and through the doors. She couldn't help the smile that came to her lips as the scent of beef stew in the kitchen. The cooks here actually cooked decent food unlike all the schools Paige had been kicked out of.

The group chose a table at the far corner with just enough seats for everyone and sat down.

“OK. We’re sitting down, no-one’s about, I’ve got myself under control, now spill!” Kirsty demanded, eying the others warily. She wasn’t sure if she actually wanted to know what the horrific thing that had happened to her was about, but mentally she told herself it couldn’t be that bad...could it?

Alec glanced at Kasey and a flicker of a small flitted briefly through his eyes.

“Kasey will tell you. I’ll demonstrate,” he offered, kicking his friend lightly under the table. He didn’t want to spill – he knew of Kirsty’s old crush on him and thought about how everything would go down the drain if he revealed that Kirsty had been injected with super-human genes and probably would gain super powers.

Kasey glared at Alec when he kicked him in the shin, "Fine then." He said turning back to the girls. "Well you know that needle that those people stuck into your arm? Well uh...they kind of injected you with some stuff that will eventually give you powers." He said this all very slowly both because he wasn't sure if Kirsty would get what he was saying and because he wasn't sure how to word it with out freaking her out completly again. He hoped that she wouldn't ask about Alec him and how they knew about what was going to happen inside the chaple so he tryed to pick a new topic that would hopefuly make them forget about this conversation for the moment. "So what prank should we pull next? I have a box full of thumb tacks." He forced a mischevious smile onto his lips.

Paige couldn't help but smile when Alec kicked Kasey underneath the table. She could tell by the way Kasey bit his bottom lip trying not yell at Alec. By the time Kasey had finished explaining Paige was near starving and the room was filling up. The room became louder with the chatter of others as they talked to one another. The people were no diffrent from the kids at normal schools. They talked about meaningless things like, "How was your movie date last night." and "Who are you taking to the dance?" It was always the same kind of banter. She rolled her eyes. If were up to her she wouldn't even be going to the dance but since it's mandetory and Kirsty was forcing her too she kind of had no choice. Maybe she could turn invisable and throw punch at random people or trip them on the dance floor.

Her pale eyes were very wide and she blinked. “Oh,” she repeated. “That’s. Um.”

What the hell?! She was silently screaming. What is going on here?!

            “Um...do you guys have powers? How do you know all of this?” she asked. It was then that the wave of dread and fear hit her, and her hands curled slowly into tight fists.

            “Ah...” Alec mumbled. “We’ve been experimented on too?” he said uncomfortably, looking at Kasey for support. “Like I can, uh, kinda control ice?”

He made a mini snow-man to prove his case.

Kasey snaped his fngers to create a small flame on the top of his index finger. He covered it with his other hand to make the flame go away.

"I feel kind of special right now." Paige said with a smile of sorts on her lips, "Good thing I wasn't tested on because I hate needles." Her hands were in her lap as her skimmed the rest of the group. She had known that Kasey had powers but had no idea that he got them from being experimented on. She just figured powers ran in the fmily and thats why they both had them. Aparently not.

"You don't have a power, Paige?" asked Kirsty curiously. Her back was itching suspiciously - she scratched it absentmindedly.

Alec looked at Paige questionly. He knew she had a power - but he'd thought she'd been tested on like the others.

Paige shook her head, "Nope." she said. She turned to Kirsty and put up an invisable hand making sure no one was watching them. She made it reapear again and put it back in her lap.

Kasey had known that Paige wasn't tested on but he didn't think much of it.
