Taylor nodded to Skye, but noticed the sad, regrettful look on her face. She glanced at her again, hoping to get eye contact. "You don't have to stay with us if you don't want to." She said softly, not wanting to ruin another's life here. She felt that maybe Cain could be a great leader, but the Darklands were not for her. She preferred greenery and bright blue skies over the lands the Darks inhabited.

Maks looked up at Cain, his eyes still bearing sorrow after his new wound. "Maksis, but most call me Maks," He told the boy. He liked the way this kid had power over most here. How he could influence their decisions with the twist of words. He hoped to learn a lot from Cain and of course Xier.

Shadow looked back at the young boy who was stumbling along after him. He realized that they would never reach the Light Hatchery in enough time with the pace they were going. He turned around and padded back to the boy and stretched down onto his forepaws and exposed his back. He lifted his wings. "Climb on," He said gruffly. He had never let anyone ride him except for Taylor, but he had to choose.

Whenever someone gives me crap about something, saying I'm not good enough, I leave quietly, get better, then come back and shove it in their faces. Jess came to a stop and lifted his head to look at the people, mainly Taylor and Cain. They seemed to be somewhat in charge here. They were both talking about different places. He sighed, looking over at Cain. "If I go with you will I finally be able to go somewhere dark and quiet?" he asked, his voice showing exhaustion. Even if this was all a hallucination, he wished it could at least be a dark one. He hated this place.
