Haida looked up at Riker with bright amber eyes, staying silent, as always. She turned her head for a breif moment, seeing movement out of the corner of her eye. Seeing that it was oonly Steel, she turned her attention back to Riker. Copper bolted to Izzy. "Are you alright, pup?" He asked, a hint of concern in his voice. |

Copper nodded. "Go to Angel right away," He instructed, then he padded over toward Sakura. She was so pretty... he let a small smile show, then got rid of it before he came close enough to her for her to notice it. "Hi, Sakura," He said, "What are you doing?" (I'm going to get some action into this. >:D) A patrol of enemy wolves caught the scent of a wolf pack. One of them, a light gray and white one, led them toward the scent-Valley Pack. After walking a while, they spotted a pup through the trees. One wolf signaled to the other five wolves to grab the pup. A black wolf with white paws shot out from behind the trees and grabbed Oscar. |

Sola yelped. "Ebils!!!" she shouted. Riker's head jerked up. He growled. Running to the patrol, he tackled the black and white wolf with Oscar. He took the pup with force from the other wolf's jaw. But the other wolf snarled and made a signal to his packmates. They all charged on Riker, the lone wolf in the battle, and he felt Oscar being taken away. Snarling, Riker slashed through the wolves, and saw a single one running off with a bundle of pup in his mouth. Riker sprinted behind this wolf, in for the chase. He was on his tail.

Sakura walked quietly over to Sola and Riker to find that a wolf that wasn't in their pack was running off with one of the pack's pups. Sakura charged forward, her legs carrying her as fast as they allowed. She cought up to the wolf and tackled it. The wolf was thrown to the ground and the pup rolled out of his mouth. She growled at the wolf menacingly. Haru watched from a distance as Sakura tackled the wolf who tried to steal the pup. He smiled lightly. She's so young, yet she's a good warrior. I wonder what happened, he thought to himself.

Riker grabbed the pup and turned to leave. He ran and ran, but another wolf confronted him. It was large and muscular. Riker snarled. The large wolf thrusted his body at Riker, having the obvious size advantage. But Riker was small and swift. He maneuvered through the wolf's legs, and the wolf was confused. He kept trying to get to Riker to no avail. Ah, such great stupid oafs. Riker thought. He darted out beneath the wolf soon, and sprinted towards his camp. The rest of the patrol caught up to him and tackled him at once. He grunted, but couldn't easily get out of this one. But he managed with an idea. Sliding the pup underneath a wolf, Riker was able to get out himself. None of the wovles saw the maneuver. Riker was low, and tried to flatten himself even more. Then he leapt and headbutted most wolves out of the way like bowling pins and landed flat on his paws. Shocked, the other wolves didn't do anything. Riker took the oppertunity and grabbed Oscar and fled to camp.

Sakura ran after Riker and said, "You're welcome." She looked at the pup and smiled. "Why were those wolves near our territory? We've marked our scent all over the dang trees," she said, clearly frustrated. ((Fail.))

"Because they've always been out for us." Riker growled. He dropped the pup in the Medicine Den, then went for Sola and plopped her in, too. Riker finally got Izzy and put her in. "Now they won't have as much a chance to steal the pups.." he mumbled.

((Sakura somewhat likes Riker.)) "That's a good idea. So what happened to make them want to steal the pups? I mean, who just goes around stealing pups?" Sakura shook her head. "It's so stupid." Her tail swished from side to side and then resumed it's normal position.

"That's how that pack is. They steal our members and loners so they can recruit them on their side. And if you reject to join.. then they kill you. It's also how we have a tiny sliver of land compared to their territory. They just want more and more. Lend 'em a paw, they'll take your whole leg." Riker explained, using the metaphor at the end. (Ooh la la.)

"Oh. Well, I'm going to get back some of that territory some day. And soon, they'll be the ones with a sliver of land. Give 'em a taste of their own medicine." Sakura smiled lightly. She looked around to make sure that there were none of the rival pack listening in.

(And Copper likes Sakura. (Sorry, i just had to add that :D.)) Copper bolted over to Riker and Sakura. "Thank you so much." He bowed his head in respect for the other fighters. He could fight just as well, but he considered them higher ranked. "You probably saved Oscar's life." Haida stepped over to the wolves. "Is everyone Okay? If not, you should go see Angel." She scented the air. The rivals were gone. Thank goodness it had only been a short fight. |
