Sykona glanced over at the dragon who introduced himself as Deathstar and looked him over before speaking. She had to admit, she was rather impressed that he was able to catch up to her. She was usually very careful about covering her trail. The dragoness gave him a small amused smile and answered his question. "My name is Sykona, and I am heading no where in particular." Sykona normally did not give out her name so carelessly, but something told her that this one time would be alright.

She halted and tasted the air with her violet forked tongue. Her pupils thinned as she took in the foul scent of humans, but she remained calm. Being a prideful dragon, she would not let such a lowly creature such as a human cause her fear. "Such irritating little pests, aren't they? First they litter the ground with their odorous corpses and now they interrupt my stroll through the forest." Her eyes narrowed at the direction of the human scent. She was in no mood to confront a human, not even to toy with them.

(Lol. Yeah. I'm actually fixing to go to bed now. ^_^; I didn't even realize the time.)

As Deathstar took off into the darkness of the trees, Sykona gave a slight smile. It wasn't too often that she ran across a dragon that could keep her attention, for she could become bored quite easily. But it seems as if this other black dragon was different, and he left a rather good impression. Especially when he bowed to her in respect. She gave a slight chuckle and continued on with her walk, her long tail swaying behind her. "Perhaps I will go to the cliffs. The skies will be clear tonight, so the view of the stars should be very beautiful from there." Pleased with this idea, Sykona headed that direction and quickened her pace to a trot so that she would make it there in time to see the sunset.

As Sykona layed on the cliff side, watching the sun disappear in the horizon and the sky explode into shades of fire, she noticed a small pink dot running through a clearing in the forest. Her long ear flicked forward and her pupils thinned as she tried to get a better look, but from her height it was hard to see anything that far away, even for her. Spreading her wings, she jumped from the ledge and gracefully glided over the location like a hawk. As she neared, the scent finally hit her. The dot was a human. Without a sound, Sykona landed in a dark area of the forest that was close by and made her way toward where she last saw the human.

Soon she heard small, running footsteps and the human suddenly entered her path. Sykona, stunned by what she saw, halted and stared. The human was only a hatchling, maybe 4 or 5 years old in their time. She had long and messy golden blonde hair and the biggest and brightest blue eyes that she had ever seen on a human. Then, unexpectedly, the girl ran over to Sykona and hid behind her right leg, hugging her and sobbing. Before Sykona could even begin to wonder what was wrong with this child, an ugly man also ran into the trail that she was on, holding a branch with a look of rage. That look melted into an ex
pression of fear when he realized he was standing in front of a full grown dragoness. Putting two and two together of what was going on, Sykona narrowed her eyes and roared in rage. She knew that humans were cruel creatures, butshe never would have guessed that they would mistreat their own young. In a quick motion, she swatted the man with her wing, slamming him against a large tree and breaking almost every bone in his body.

She then pushed the little girl onto her back with her snout and then trotted off towards her cave, not even bothering to eat the deceased man. It made her sick to even think about devouring such a foul human. As she walked, she could feel the little girl wrapping her arms a little tighter around the base of her neck and sobbing, letting out everything that she had been holding in. This was enough to make even the proud and strong dragoness shed a tear of her own.
