Taylor scrambled up to her ashen gray paws as a white shape hurtled toward her. She leaped to her right and the outstretched claws of the snowy beast missed her by a few inches. With a snarl, she threw herself at the beast and pinned herself onto his back. The lumbering shape fell onto his back, crushing her and forcing the breath out of her. She snarled before turning her tone into a slight whimper. The white bear pulled itself off of her and Taylor watched as his form shifted. Those emerald green eyes grew to fit the body of what was now a young boy. Taylor pushed herself to her paws and closed her eyes, finding it easier to shift when she could not see anything around her. She blinked once more and glanced down, finding her transformation was complete.

Maksis, her brother, was sweating as he walked over to her. She gave him a cold look before turning around and pushing through the ferns of the woods. "That was a dirty move you pulled on me." She said and she could almost feel her twin roll his eyes. "No, it wasn't. You just made a horrible move." He said and Taylor rounded on him. "You could have seriously hurt me." She said and saw hurt in Maksis's eyes. He glanced down at his hands quickly and chewed on his lip nervously. "I'm sorry." He said and Taylor sighed, walking back to him.

"Nah, it's okay. We best get to that stupid school now." Taylor said and Maksis nodded.

Liam sighed when he heard his brothers voice. He turned around and it was like looking into a mirror. Both he and his brother were tall. Both had short, messy, spiked up black hair. They both had lean, yet muscular builds. They both had a deep tan that showed their Native American ancestry. But looking into Lyle's eyes was like looking into their mothers. While Liam had chocolate-brown eyes, Lyle's were a dark green.

"So are you going to be different this year?" Lyle asked, sticking his hands into the pockets of his low-slung, faded jeans. He was wearing a gray, plaid, button down shirt, his favorite jeans, and a pair of black DC shoes.

Liam raised one eyesbrow. Not bothering to say out loud what they were both thinking, Why? Like his twin, Liam was wearing faded jeans, but his shoes were white, and he was wearing a dark blue plaid shirt.

Lyle rolled his eyes, "well, it's a new place." he pointed out, the two had only been there for a day now, "nobody knows what we are, or about our past. We can start new here. Forget everything. Be whatever we want to be."

"And what if they find out? What then? Besides, just because im not becoming a new me, doesnt mean im not using this as a new start." Liam said quietly, "nobody knows about my past, nobody will stare, nobody will whisper. And thats good enough for me."

Lyle shook his head, "man, we need to get you some friends." he said, giving his brother a gentle punch on the arm. Liam flashed a smiled, but didnt answer. Lyle knew deep down, that Liam was right. He could run from his past, but he couldnt escape it. He and Liam had a past that nobody could bury, even if they tried. But he could, however, pretend it never happened and move on....

[Yep. It's at school basically. It's boarding. o.o Boys in the east wing, girls in the west wing, main building houses cla.ssrooms. There are two floors, top with the dining hall, common room and library. Bottom has six cla.ssrooms.

Period 1 - English - Mr. Vaughan

Period 2 - History - Mrs. Andrews

Period 3 - Math – Mr. Smith

Period 4 – Drama – Mr. Johnson

LUNCH

Period 5 – Music – Ms. Abernathy

Period 6 – Free time – No teacher

'Period one with Mr. Vaughan,' Wynter muttered with a slump of her shoulders. Hefting the small bookbag she used as a temporary backpack the tall girl shuffled with the crowd into the large lobby of the boarding school. 

Lined with marble and fancy hangings, this was more wealth than Wynter had seen in her entire lifetime. 'Bigger en’ the forest I ‘ad at the farm,’ she said with a note of awe in her slow voice, temporarily slipping into the farmer’s cant she had grown up with.

Stumbling slightly as she was bumped by someone’s errant elbow the girl painfully made her way to the large door that dominated the other end of the lobby, which led to the cla.ssrooms.

Pausing to take a look around her Wynter chewed on a strand of white hair thoughtfully as her sharp gaze looked around the school and her new home till she graduated. ‘I cann—can’t wait to see the rest of this place.’ She corrected herself quickly; though out of reflex.

Tugging the hair from her mouth Wynter sent a scorching gaze at the boy who had bumped her. ‘Ungrateful,’ she sniffed disdainfully.

Taylor peeked around the edge of the tree she was standing behind. Some of the other students were already heading into the school and none were looking that way. Taylor hefted her brown messenger bag that she used as a backpack from the bushes and pulled the strap onto her shoulder. Maksis slid his own bag on and Taylor fell back behind the tree. A few kids had gazed into the forest on this side of the school. Taylor let out a small breath as Maksis gave the okay. She sucked in another breath as fear took her. She did not want to be here and would much rather be out in the forest than stuck in a fancy-schmancy building all day.

Maksis walked out of the covering of the trees and Taylor followed suit. They moved their pace to a slight jog and slowed only when the neared the front steps of the school. The hustle of students and other bodies pressing in on Maksis as the kids huddled to get through the doors did not bother Maksis, but he could tell that his sister was feeling anxious. He caught her arm and pulled her closer to him and he could almost feel the relief and comfort coming off of her in waves.

He pushed his way through the crowd and found an open space that was less populated. "Do you have the cla$s sheet?" Maksis asked and Taylor nodded while unclipping her bag. She pulled out a crumpled piece of paper and handed it to Maksis. He unfolded it. "English with Mr. Vaughan." He said and frowned. "I have no idea where this is." He said and Taylor shrugged.

"Let's ask someone." She said and Maksis raised an eyebrow. "You think anyone else here is going to know where anything is?" He asked and Taylor shrugged. "It's worth a shot." She said and cast her sights out to her student bodies. Her gaze rested on a white-haired girl, probably her age. "Come one. Let's ask her. She seems to know what she's doing." Taylor said and Maksis grinned. "No one here looks like they know what they're doing." He said and Taylor resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at him. She had, in fact, picked the girl randomly, but she would never admit that to Maksis.

Lyle walked through the doors of the school with Liam at his side. English... He had no clue where he was going, but he didn't care. Going to cl*censored* was never the first thing on the top of his list. He glanced at his brother, who had his iPod earbuds in, with the volume up to max. He could faintly hear the song Animals, by Neon Trees. He stated walking down the halls and stopped at the door that said, 'Mr. Vaughan' right beside it. The two walked in and Lyle sat in a desk right in the middle of the clas.sroom, that way he could easily talk to everyone.

Liam glanced around the room before sitting at a desk in the back corner. He sat down in the chair and leaned back, folding his arms. He watched the door to wait for the teacher to walk in, but didnt turn down the music blaring from his iPod. ((fail XD))

Turning around to check the time on the large clock that sat centered on the wall above the double doors Wynter came face to face with two people her age. They seemed to be brother and sister, perhaps even twins, for the similarity of their faces was apparent.

'Oh, hello,' she said a bit awkwardly, feeling the rest of the student body attempt to push her in the opposite direction. Fighting against it as best she could Wynter managed to stay in the same spot, though barely so.

'Do you need help?' she asked curiously, sending a cursory glance down towards the ratty paper she clutched in one pale hand. Blinking her large green eyes she tilted her head and waited for them to answer.

Taylor felt the uncomfortable press of of other people around her as they drew closer to the girl. The white-haired girl had striking green eyes that were similar to those of Maksis. "Yes, we do need help. I'm Taylor and this is my brother Maksis. We're supposed to be in English with Mr. Vaughan, but we have no idea where his room is." Taylor said and Maksis opened his mouth to finish her sentence. "Do you have any idea where the room is?" He asked. The two looked at her hopefully.

I could rip your eyes out Aki thought to herself as a bully walked away. She was beating herself up in a figurative sense as she debated whether or not to destroy the boy on the spot. Obviously, she was only a girl with black hair and innocent looking silver eyes. Her eyes were wide and her lips were fully. Her body was skinny but curvy and the dress that was clothing her made her seem like an angel, the truth, she was hard-headed and cocky, but nobody seemed to know much about her.

Bullies teased Aki because they thought it right. What did they know, they thought she was weak, they thought she was vulnerable, she certainly looked the part. The girl turned away. This form was a facade, a false front, if you will, it was not her favorite, but it blended well and it made her seem less than she really was. "I'm going to kill them." She swore as she started to walk towards the first period. 

Books were scattered around Aki, spines ripped, pages torn, books flipped and bent. She held back tears. They were her prized possesions, her stronghold. Books were things she could escape to when she had no one else. Why were they ruined. She gathered them up and straightened them. She didn't care that she was going to be late, she didn't care much about anything except for saving her 'babies' as she called them. When at last, Aki walked into the homeroom, she was greeted by a thin balding man in his late 40's

"Akilina Morosa, do tell" He paused for a moment to consult his list on whether he had called on the right person, "Why you are late and what a pronoun is." Aki chewed her lip thoughtfully for a moment and then sat down at a desk. 

"Bullies" Was her simple answer and then she thought about the other one. "A pronoun is used when you do not want to  say one thing over and over again. For example: you could say: Mary went to the store and Mary bought grapes. Then Mary went home and Mary ate the grapes. Instead, you would say: Mary went to the store and she bought grapes. Then she went home and ate them." Aki said. It sounded as if she had recited something from a textbook, which she probably had, she had read so many things. 

The teacher smiled and walked off to patronize another student. Aki breathed a sigh of relief, half because she had gotten the answer right, and the other part because the teacher seemed nice. On the other hand, although she was doing well now, she knew that math was going to ruin her day. Luckily, she didn't have it for a one more period. It was after history. She sighed and lay down her head on her desk...
