"Shifters?" Wynter asked as blankly as she could manage. "What d'you mean by that? Are you looney or somewhat?" Letting her hands slip off her ears she gave him a searching look. "I wouldn't go 'round spouting cow crap like that," she murmured gently in his ear.

Pushing her chair back she stood and lifted an eyebrow at him. "Someone might take you for a freak."

"Don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what I'm talking about." Liam said, corssing his arms across his chest, "I know you do, I can tell. I should have warned you, it's damn near impossible to lie to me." his voice was quiet enough so he knew that Wynter was the only one whou could hear him.

Adrian motioned to the albino girl. He'd been about to answer before the bell cut him off, but he continued once the racket had stopped.
"She had them," he said quietly.

How would a normal person be reacting to hearing about shifters? He wasn't such a great actor, but it shouldn't have been so difficult to just pretend to be normal. So normal people would.. be trying to stay far away from these weird people, right? Weird people who he should've *censored*umed were lying to him, maybe. So now he had to avoid Taylor and Maksis and those two others who he didn't know. And.. albino girl had definitely reacted unnaturally to the sound of the bell ringing, and now seemed to be getting interrogated by another boy. Adrian wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he certainly didn't want to stick around. He headed for the door, sort of neglecting his offer to stick with Taylor and Maksis. Only the first day of school and he'd come to the conclusion that the only way to stay safe was to isolate himself.

“Well, if I know exactly what you’re talking about,” Wynter began, her green eyes glittering with a sudden malice. “Then I suppose I am lying. But what if I’m not lying and I don’t know what you’re trying to tell me? Or better yet, suppose I’m lying now about the fact that I was lying about not understanding you, which would mean I was telling the truth.”

Giving him an angelic smile she brushed past him and padded out of the room, an aura of superiority hovering around her.

Walking a bit more swiftly once she left the cla-ssroom Wynter caught up to Adrian. “Do you know what he was talking about?” she whispered in her best confused tone. She may not like the spotlight, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t lie or act well.

Taylor watched as Adrian hurried past her to leave the room. She met Maksis's eyes and found that he had watched the boy leave, too. With a slight nod, Maksis motioned for Taylor to follow him. She knew what he wanted. He wanted to be sure this kid did not tell anyone about their secret.

The bell had left a dull ring in Taylor's ears and she shook her head slightly with annoyance. She had heard tidbits of what the others had said and guessed that the boy that had talked to Wynter was one of them. Gauging Wynter's reaction, she was definitely a shifter, too. "What the hell." She muttered to herself, thoroughly confused that there were so many shifters in one place at one time.

She spotted Adrian among the crowd and tapped him lightly on the shoulder before striding next to him. "Hey, I thought we were going to stick together." She said, giving him a slight smile. "I'm really not that bad a person." She said softly.

Maksis stood and watched Taylor leave the room. He only hoped she would not screw this up. She had already given them away as shifters. This was not the first time it had happened. He surpressed a sigh and walked up to Wynter, wincing when the bell rang. The boy next to her seemed to be interrogating her and she was looking pretty mad. He pushed his hands between them. "Hey guys. We're all the same here, okay? Just a few kids trying to get through school. Why don't we get to second block before we're late?" He suggested.

Liam glared after Wynter. How the hell had she managed to confuse him so much and lie to him all at the same time? He knwe by her heation that she definately wasnt a normal human, her ears had been hurt just as bad as his by the sharp ring of the bell. He slid out the door and Lyle stood beside him.

"were not alone." Liam said under his breath to Lyle, "and some of these kids know more than they are telling." His face was stone cold as he watched Wynter.

"Dude, you need to learn how to be nice." Lyle said, shaking his head, "what ever you said, obviously made her really mad."

"Hey," Wynter murmured in a muted tone to Taylor, giving her a tight smile. Liam had really angered her and she could feel the need to channel this madness. But it was probably better if she waited till lunch to do so.

No need to attack Taylor or Adrian. They did nothing. It was that...Liam.

Stiffling a shudder of anger at the thought of the obnoxious and nosey boy she turned her attention to the secene outside the large windows. Gazing out at the softly rolling green hills and clouds as thick as cotton candy floating in the sky she could feel her anger drain out slowly, bit by bit.

Adrian didn't have a chance to say anything to the white-haired girl before Taylor showed up. It was probably for the best. Now he didn't have to make up any more about being a concerned, clueless student. He could just act like Taylor's presence prohibited him from discussing the incident any further- which, if he was a concerned, clueless student, it would have.

"No, no, I didn't think you were," Adrian replied to Taylor quickly, managing a smile, before shifting his attention briefly to the white-haired girl to drag her attention back to the conversation at hand.
"Sorry, what's your name? I'm Adrian."
The girl still looked upset, so maybe it was up to him and Taylor to cheer her up. That wouldn't be the wosrt thing. If he couldn't escape completely, then at least he could melt into a group where he hopefully wouldn't be expected to really deal with the issue of shifters any more. It'd be easier to escape scrutiny if the people around him were all distracted by each other.

"Hmmm?" Wynter hummed in confusion, looking up at Adrian. "Oh, I'm Wynter. Please, don't ask about the name. But really, I'm named after some actress named Sarah Wynter. I blame my mother, really," she muttered, stuffing her hands into the pockets of her black jeans.

"And do you still need the Advil?" Wynter asked curiously, sending a look down at the shouldbag that hung from her shoulder. She hoped the Advil bottle was still in there. Chances were that she had forgotten to stuff it in the bag when she had rushed from the room, away from Liam.

Taylor glanced sideways at Wynter and she grit her teeth as her headache got worse. "I'd greatly appreciate some now, thanks." She said, then scolded herself for being so formal. She decided faintly that she hated school, but not many thoughts were pa.ssing through her muddled brain right now.

So these two seemed like fast friends. Or previous friends, as the case was, but Adrian didn't quite pick up on that yet. They were already talking, which was definitely.. good? Right? Adrian couldn't be sure of what he wanted to happen here, because there was just so little he knew about these strangers.

Wynter had reacted incredibly strangely to the bell ringing. He couldn't forget that, so he couldn't quite trust her fully. However, even if she was a shifter, then she was clearly just as committed to keeping up the guise of a normal person as he was. That would have been good for him. And Taylor seemed to be either supremely careless, which he doubted, or honestly concerned with the safety of other shifters, concerned enough to risk her own secret for their sake. If that was the case, then her actions struck him as a little naive, but incredibly well-intentioned. On second thought, it might not completely ruin him to be *censored*ociated with these people.

"Can I ask about the hair, then?" He piped up, glancing towards Wynter as she handed the bottle of Advil over to Taylor.
"I thought you were just an albino, but now I can see that your eyes are green. What gives?"
He hadn't even thought of it until now, but was odd hair color at all indicative of a shifter..? He dismissed the thought. She probably just bleached it or something. And some humans were naturally born with white hair, right? It was just rare.
