"You jerk," Destery said loudly, looking up at the wall. He glanced around, then ran around the building, hopping onto the lid of the dumpster and then climbing up onto the building. He looked around, hoping to see Josh again so he wouldn't have to run around looking for him, and then chased after, annoyed now. Did Josh not tire or something?

Severin gave her a dirty look, then blinked, barking twice. I walked right into that, didn't I? he thought, sitting down and growling a little. Charlotte was probably thinking that he was lying, but he really wasn't. He just didn't like tight clothes...much. They made him feel claustrophobic when it was hot outside.

"Okay," Charlotte said, chuckling a little bit. "I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere, m'kay?" She rolled her eyes, turning her back on him and started to walk away. She frowned, trying to figure out what sort of clothing Severin wore, until she realized she could care less.

Josh, breathing harsh from being so out of shape (he doesn't actually run that often), lost his footing and slipped, sliding down the side of roof a little ways. He finally gave up, hugging his knees to his chest as he struggled to breath. His eyes stayed focused on the skyline beyond him.

Severin sighed, crawling into an alleyway and lying down. It's not like he wanted to be seen. He was sort of hoping that Charlotte wouldn't bring him back something stupid to wear, and then he thought, I shouldn't care. As long as she gets me something. I'll probably look like a gay, though.

Destery stopped dead, then walked over to Josh, standing behind him and crossing his arms over his chest. Eventually, he sighed, sitting down next to him and staring. "When I was a human," he started quietly, looking at the sky as well. "I remember that my throat started to burn whenever I ran a lot... It feels exactly the same when I'm thirsty, and I guess that's why I can remember that."

{ Because she's scanning a whole bunch of my childhood pictures, and I asked if she could scan my three, and she said no because she was too busy D: }

"Humanity," Josh said, swallowing weakly. "I think that's something I should remember." He frowned, eyes flickering to Destery for a moment. "I don't remember much from my childhood and human memories. I made myself forget it a long time ago." He set his head on his knees and sighed.

Charlotte pushed open the door to what looked like an expensive clothing store. Inside the air carried the scent of different fabrics, humans, and a very obnoxious perfume. She walked up to the counter, where a distinctly geeky looking boy was working. She smiled seductively and said, "Hi. I'm looking for men's clothing. Could you show me where it is?" 

Acting dipsy was something she had practiced well. She stuck out one hip and swirled a strand of hair with one finger. She boy, obviously uncomfortable, started to stutter, turn red, and walk in one direction. She smiled and followed. 

( o___o Ha. )

"Neither do I," Destery said, hugging his legs to his body. "but, I do remember what I can link to my vampire life. And..." He looked at Josh, blinking at him. "I didn't make myself forget. That's, like, impossible. I just forgot over time. My humanity isn't all that important to me anymore. It's not like I can get it back."

( I'm gonna leave Severin alone till Charlotte gets back. ^^ )

"Humanity," Josh mumbled again. "Sometimes I wonder if that's something you can actually lose, or something you just start ignoring." He frowned and sighed. "Everyone was human once..."

Charlotte grabbed a pair of boxers, jeans, socks and shoes {Notice the no shirt XD}. She set them on the counter, waiting for the boy to ring it all in. "T-that'll be $200.98." he stuttered, looking at her nervously. Now was her time to act. 

"Oh," she said, maintaining her dumb blonde act. "I forgot something at the back of the store. Could you go grab it?" The boy nodded, dashing to go look for what she had left.

Charlotte scooped up the bag of stuff with Severin's clothes in it, and strolled out of the store without paying. She walked back to where she had told him to wait, looking annoyed. "Where'd he go?"

Destery chuckled, letting his hair fall over his face. "Are you referring to when people ask others if they're even human?" he asked, grinning at Josh. "Because, I really get a kick out of that. Of course, they're human." He sighed, hugging his legs a little tighter. "Sorry. I hate talking so negatively." he mumbled.

A low growl came from the alleyway, and Severin stepped out, ears pressed against his head again. He'd noted the annoyance in Charlotte's voice, and he himself was annoyed because of it. He padded over to where Charlotte was standing, staring at her.

Charlotte tossed the clothes at him, crossing her arms over her chest. "You know, I saved your life, and then went to get you clothes." She hissed, glaring at him. "The least you could do is show some damn appreciation." She nodded towards the clothes with a disgusted look. "Enjoy them; they're shoplifted."

She spun around, and started to stalk away, hurt and annoyed that he was still being a jerk to her after she saved his life and stole clothes for him.

Josh smiled faintly, but it slipped off his face. "You get it from hanging around me," he said flatly, blinking slowly.

Severin snarled when Charlotte threw the clothes she'd gotten at him, and pretty much ignored anything else she said. He snatched the clothes up in his jaws, still growling as he walked back into the darkness of the alleyway. He shifted, dressed quickly, and hurried after Charlotte, grabbing her shoulder. "Thank you," he said almost breathlessly. "and sorry for being so...um, hostile. It's hard to keep up being apathetic as a wolf. I'm actually a very angry person, and as a wolf, it shows."

"No, I don't think so," Destery said, smiling at Josh to see if he'd smile again. His smile had slipped away so easily. "I start talking so negatively when I talk about my past. It's not my favorite subject, to be honest." He sighed, spreading his legs out in front of him and staring at his lap. He couldn't tell for sure if he really was being negative because he was around Josh, but he knew that he did act pessimistic when he talked about his past. But, not always. He managed to keep it down sometimes.

Charlotte stopped, and, not entirely forgiving him, only said, "Uh-huh. It shows." She brushed his hand off her shoulder, giving him a cool look. "Your welcome," she said, turning her face away from him to pause for a moment, licking the last of the blood off her lips with a shiver of pleasure. That was soon replaced with guilt, and then disgust.

Josh only shrugged, trying not to look into his own past too much. He wanted to forget it, and leave it forgotten. He changed the subject almost completely. "I haven't figured out a way to kill myself yet," he said, staring past Destery with a distant ex
pression. "Jumping off buildings, knives, even guns...nothing seems to work. I haven't tried wood yet; I heard that works, says humans..." 

"I know it shows," Severin said, brushing his hair out of his face. He thought about asking her why she hadn't gotten him a shirt, but instead, decided just to be a grateful little bastard and pretend he didn't mind. "And, I'm sorry. Er, again." he added, brow furrowing. "You're pissed, aren't you?"

Destery practically jumped up, pouncing on Josh, grabbing the collar of his shirt, and sitting his lap. "Don't try and kill yourself, jeez!" he shouted, shaking him. "You suicidal bastard, don't you know that people will notice? And, I mean," He sighed, loosening his grip. "everything dies. Death will eventually come to vampires, too." He dropped his hands and looked away, still sitting in Josh's lap.

"No," she said quietly, not looking at him. "Not mad. Just..." She paused, blinking away tears. "Disgusted with myself. Disappointed. A little..." she paused again. "Guilty. Ashamed." She frowned, turning to look at him. She had to stop herself from cringing when she wondered what he would think if she told him that she had enjoyed sucking the life out of him. She told herself in a faint voice. And he'd never speak to me again because he'd be completely weirded out. Werewolf blood! Who would have thought!

There was a long, awkward pause between the two vampires. "Get off, you big oaf," he grumbled. "I never said I'd kill myself now. I'm just waiting until...the right time. When I've decided I've had enough of immortality." Memories singed him, and he almost considered recoiling physically from the pain. He wasn't experimenting before, he had been trying to kill himself. But that was a long time ago, and he had a very good reason for it.

Jason poked his head out his front door, eyes wider than the fullmoon. He could hear his heart thundering wildly in his chest, threatening to burst at any moment. For a minute he just stood there, shaking, until he dared step out of his house an onto the sidewalk.

Those emotions are too complex. Severin thought, half joking. Really, he just wanted to walk away and go to sleep somewhere, preferably his own bed. He hated dealing with other's problems. He hated it. It's not like he didn't have his own problems, and when people made it out like they had such a horrible life, he wanted to punch them in the face. Most people didn't know how good they had it, and they always took their good life for granted.

"Disgusted, disappointed, guilty, ashamed." Severin repeated, tilting his head a bit. "It sounds a bit like someone used you for sex or something."

Destery blinked, then grinned at Josh. His ex
pression sort of read, "No, you like it," which was what he would have said, if not for what they were talking about. "But, you've tried to before," he said, raising an eyebrow. "You're still suicidal. And, jeez, can't you just wait till the world blows up or something? It's only a matter of time before that happens. So, instead of wanting to kill yourself, look forward to watching people writhe in agony." He gave Josh a toothy grin, revealing his canines. "That's always fun, no?"

( ...Destery's a sadist. ) 

Charlotte raised her eyebrows at him, clearly unimpressed. "Actually, no." She said in a tight voice, trying to rein in her emotions. After a minute or two, when she thought she had gotten a hold on herself, she said quietly, "Want to know the truth?"

"Not really, no," Josh said in an emotionless tone, almost considering shoving Destery off of him. "They scream too much and it makes me want to puke." He paused for a minute, giving him a stern look before he said, "And really, Destery, got off of me before I have to throw you off a skyscraper."

Jason, looking pale and jittery like someone who had just saw their aunt get smashed to bits by a train or something, dashed across the street. He followed his nose, worming in and out of allyways in search of where Severin's scent was leading him.
