I'd love to know the truth. Severin thought sarcastically, his lips pressing into a thin line. Instead of giving Charlotte his usual cruel sarcasm, he bit his tongue and decided against it. "Yeah, I want to know," he said, sounding a bit like he was demanding an explanation out of her. Really, he didn't want to know. For the most part, he didn't give a damn about other people's problems.

Destery chuckled. "Please do," he said, grabbing Josh's collar again. "as soon as I hit the ground, I'd be up and running. Not too long after, you'd be on the ground. We'll make it a cycle." He laughed, then whispered, "I'll skewer you on that space needle or whatever."

Charlotte bit her lip, cringing against Severin's cold glare. He was right; he WAS an angry person. And a very stuck-up, selfish, pessimistic rude person too. Her nerves melted away, leaving nothing but annoyance again. "Alright," she said, straightening. "Because you think this has nothg at all to do with you, and that I'm just being a whiney brat, here it is,"

She sucked in a deep breath, suddenly unsure. She mumbled, "Your blood tasted better than anyone else's I've ever tasted." She looked away from him, trying not to look guilty or grossed out. "Disgusting, right? You can leave now..." She said weakly.

Josh pulled his head back, away from Destery's alarmed at how close their faces were. "Really," he said, clearing his throat in obvious discomfort. "Get off of me now, Destery." His eyes were wide, as he was startled, but the pupils were slits, like a cat's, as usual. There was a stark contrast between his bloody red eyes and his black pupils.

Jason quivered, shaking uncontrollably in his hiding spot, around the corner from where Severin and the scary female vampire were talking. There voices traveled to his sharp hearing, and what the girl had said made him want to run screaming back home.

An ancient vampire, highly dangerous, with a taste for...werewolf blood? His mind was reeling.

Severin raised an eyebrow, then lifted a hand to rub to spot where he'd been bitten...twice. "You like the taste of my blood?" he asked, and then he smacked a hand to his forehead. "Wait, that was a stupid question." he mumbled, and he looked up, brows knitted together. "Well, I don't care. Hell, if you killed me instead of saved me, I wouldn't have cared. Oh, and, that's not disgusting. Not one bit.  You're a vampire, and it's natural to like the taste of blood. So, yeah." He shrugged.

Destery's eyes glittered with some sort of mischievousness, and he shifted closer to Josh, grinning devilishly. "Why? Does this bother you?" he asked, leaning in a bit. Josh smelled...well, like a vampire. But, Destery could peel away the vampire scent and actually smell Josh, not a vampire. Which was unusual, because his senses had become accustomed to smelling only three things: humans, vampires, and werewolves. Anything else was basically unimportant.

( Omg. o.o I thought you just left him alone or something. )

"Yes," Josh hissed, a low snarl escaping him. He bared his teeth, malicious red eyes narrowing. "Get off me, Destery. By the Gods, I will rip your throat out if it kills you or not." He leaned backwards, trying to avoid letting him get too close, but he ended up laying flat on his back, Destery looming over him. Not good...not good...

Charlotte was stunned. "But you don't get it," she argued, snapping her head to look him in the eyes. "I've tasted werewolf blood before. It tasted like..." She frowned, racking her brain to remember. It came to her almost instantly. "His blood tasted distinctly like if I bit into a rotting piece of fruit. But you..." Her eyes flickered over him curiously, pausing only for a moment on his chest, which wasn't covered by a shirt (hee hee). "It tasted...sweet. Sweeter than human, animal, or unicorn blood."

She frowned for a moment, trying to remember the unicorn she'd cornered in Ireland when she was still a young vampire. It had tasted great; but sadly, there were none left, as they had been totally killed off by the humans.

Jason paled visibly, feeling his insides give a terrible wretch. He tried to hold back from puking, and ended up succeeding, but he looked a mess. She was a living nightmare; a murderer, he knew, but a murderer of different races. Unicorn (?), human (obviously), werewolf...and probably even vampires if they got in her way. Just looking at her gave him the creeps.

"Jeez, it looks like we're going at it or something," Destery said, glancing around. If anyone happened to see them, Josh would probably be extremely embarr*censored*ed. But, he wouldn't. He blinked then, looking back down at Josh. "Why did you say, 'gods'?" he asked, leaning over so his face was only inches away from Josh's. "Is there more than one? Is there even one?"

Severin sighed, shaking his head. "Well, maybe it's because of that poison you sucked out of my neck." he suggested, shifting his weight to his leg. "Maybe it sweetened my blood or something. I dunno. But, either way, I don't care if my blood tastes sweet. I could be a diabetic or something, and not even know it, so don't come down so hard on yourself. I-" He stopped, sniffing the air a few times. "You smell that? Smells like..." His voice trailed off, and he gave the air another sniff. "Werewolf."

Jason whipped his head around the corner to avoid being seen, chest heaving as he tried to calm himself down. "They found me, thy found me," he gasped, eyes wide. He trembled, trying not to cry as he imagined the vampire sucking on his neck...

Josh, who had pressed his hands against Destery's chest in preparation to shove him off as soon as he had gotten close, was stopped by his last two questions. "I don't know," he mumbled, staring into his eyes, trying not to look angry, which he was. 

"My father was greek, my mother was british," he grunted. "I grew up believing in the greek gods, because when I was young I thought they had some kick-as,s powers." He stiffened as Destery's breath washed over him, prickling his skin and making the hair on his neck stand on end. "I don't believe in them anymore, as my soul is damned to hell as a vampire, but the ex
pression "by the Gods" sort of stuck." 

So they sat there in silence, Josh on his back with his knees bent, hands on Destery's chest, while Destery leaned over him, sitting sattle-style on Josh's stomach. Good thing they were on a roof, where they weren't likely to be seen.

Charlotte blinked, narrowing her eyes as she tried to peer into the darkness. "I can smell him, and hear him," she said, knowing the werewolf was male. His scent told her so. "But I can't see him. I think I might know where he is though..." She started to walk towards Jason's hiding spot, high tops silent against the pavement. 

Destery blinked, then moved Josh's hands away, pinning them down on either side of the other vampire. "Greek gods are no better than humans, or vampires." he said, leaning close again. Although it didn't entirely seem like it, Destery was quite entertained. Josh was basically helpless under him like that, and he could do whatever he wanted. But, if he tried to kiss him or something, he'd probably be punched across the face. Oh, well.

"...Wait, I'm damned to hell because I'm a vampire?" Destery asked, blinking again and leaning back on Josh's legs. "I thought Earth was hell. I mean, it's horrible here. Humans killing eachother off, destroying animal habitats and the Earth, vampires and werewolves running around like nobody's business..."

Severin sighed, running a hand through his hair. The scent was familiar. It was a werewolf, ikt it was a male, and again, it was familiar. Who else could it be? "If it's Jason, tell him to get his fifteen-year-old as.s over here before I kick him in it." he called, glaring in the direction Charlotte was walking in. "I'm definitely not happy. I don't like eavesdroppers. I hate them."

"Of course we're going to hell," Josh said stubbornly, fidgeting unhappily underneath Destery. "We're vampires. Blood-sucking demons that originated in the fiery depths of tartarus." He paused, remembering Destery probably didn't know much about greek mythology, and said again, "er- that deepest, darkest part of hell to say."

He growled, fangs glinting in the light. "Get off of me, damnit. I'm not a chair, you know." He paused and added, "Why don't you go bother that little werewolf you seem so fond of." Again he wriggled, growling low in his throat.

Cold fingers closed on the back of his shirt, and Jason yelped, flailing around in attempt to free himself. He twisted around, trying to get a clear shot at the vampire, but she wasn't that stupid. He gasped as she tossed him, and he landed flat on his face in front of Severin.

"Got him," Charlotte purred, nudging Jason with her foot. She adjusted her tank top, then pulled her hair loose out of the ponytail it was in. It fell in wavy ripples of gold around her shoulders. "Much better," she mumbled, tucking the elastic in her back pocket. 

Destery blinked again, then furrowed his brow. He ignored Josh's complaints, shifting a little on top of Josh to get comfortable. "I don't think that's true," he said quietly, crossing his arms and looking away, lips puckered just a bit. "If it was, everyone would be going to hell, even animals. It's called a food chain, and we're on top." He tried to smile, looking back at Josh. "And by the way, I like you better."

"Nice," Severin commented, averting his eyes. Charlotte looked like some sort of wicked goddess, pulling her long, beautiful hair out of that ponytail and practically glowing in her own beauty... He blinked, snapping out of his little trance. She wasn't that pretty... He squatted down in front of Jason, on eyebrow raised. "What's up?" he said, holding his head in his hand. "About to ditch again?"

No, you're on top...he thought sourly. Josh tried not to look uncomfortable under Destery's keen gaze. "Urmph, Destery," he mumbled, trying to free his right arm from his hold. "What exactly do you mean by that? 'You like me better'...?"

Charlotte smirked, pleased with the effect that had on Severin. Hah, she thought confidently. I've still got some charms up my sleeve. She checked the watch on her wrist. It was half past seven. Her eyes shifted to the sky, which was slightly darker. She couldn't see the sun setting, but she knew it was.

Jason frowned, eyes wide. "No," he said glumly. "I was coming back to apologize for running away, when I heard that-," he stuttered. "Th-that thing talking about how good you tasted." His stomach churned. "But, I am sorry for running away..."

Destery made a face. "What the hell would it mean? I said I liked you better, and it's because I do. That's all there is to it." I'm just teasing, I'm just teasing~ he told Josh in his head, a smile pulling at his lips. He hoped Josh didn't get angry or anything. After all, he was only teasing. If Josh tried to get a better answer out of him, that just meant more teasing.

"Mmm," Severin sat back onto his butt, crossing his arms and blinking down at Jason. "you're forgiven, I guess. I'm not really mad anymore. Charlotte's not as bad as she seems." If he heard her say that she liked how my blood tasted, then he was there to hear my say that I don't care. he thought, tilting his head a bit. Good. He wouldn't have to explain...would he?

"You like her," Jason squeaked, then, sensing that wasn't the best thing to say, he add on, "Anyways, why'd you let her suck your blood, huh? Did she attack you? pin you down? Tell me all the gory details!"

Charlotte tsked quietly, rolling her eyes at Jason. "He reminds me of a Mr.Destery Hale I met earlier," she muttered, running a hand through her hair as she stared at the sky. "Dark soon," she said softly. "That means hunting."

Josh freed his right arm, and grasped the front of his shirt, narrowing his eyes with a frown highlighting his cold features. "I told you to get off," With a quick shove, he was the one sitting ontop of Destery, pinning his arms against his sides in turn. 

Severin made a face, his nose wrinkling a bit. "No, I don't like her," he hissed, glaring at Jason. And then his eyes widened, blinking at the younger werewolf. He hadn't expected him to hop onto another subject like that. "I was attacked by another vampire, and he poisoned me. Charlotte sucked the poison out of me, and apparently," He looked over at the vampress, raising an eyebrow. "sucked some of my blood out, too."

Destery's eyes widened, surprised at first, and then he smirked. "You know, I like having you on top of me, pinning me down like this. Very *censored*ertive; I like that." He was afraid that he was going to fall off the building earlier, but, as it turned out, Josh only wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. Unfortunately for Josh, it was like getting candy instead of "medicine."

Charlotte rolled her eyes, shrugging off his look as he wandered over to a store that contained sparkling pieces of jewelry. She thought longingly of buying a pretty necklace, but decided that she didn't need it and started slowly back towards Severin and Jason. She wasn't in a hurry.

"Awe," Jason squeaked. "she likes you back!" He danced away from Severin, keeping out of striking distance. He beamed, hair poking out in random directions as he bounced away from the older werewolf. "Are you gonna invite me to the wedding?" He was only poking fun, though, of course.

~

Josh released him, standing up so he could run a hand through his messy black hair. "So," he said slowly, staring out over the rooftops. The sun was sinking lower in the sky, dying it a deep orange color, while the small amount of clouds around started to take on more of a purplish tone. "If you don't mind me, I'll be leaving,"

He turned around, and started to walk across the roof away from Destery in silence. He wouldn't be suprised if he followed. 

"Ugh!" Severin pulled at his hair, clenching his teeth. "There isn't gonna be a wedding! Now, get back here so I can bite your head off!" he snarled, pointing down at the space in front of him. Jason was like a freakin' little brother. Severin wanted to chew him out, but he wasn't going to. He looked up for a second, blinking at Charlotte. She hadn't been there a second ago. Where did she go?

"And I'll be following~" Destery said, walking after Josh. He walked with a spring in his step, as usual, and he was contemplating jumping on Josh's back and forcing him to give him a piggyback ride. He was a little sad that Josh had let him go, but following him and bothering him would make up for it. It wasn't like he was just going to leave him alone.

"I figured," Josh muttered, growling lightly. "Are you ever going to leave me alone? Despite popular belief, I have a life, you know." His pupils widened as it started to get darker out, so he could see better.

"What if I don't?" Jason teased, smirking. "Are you gonna sick your girlfriend on me?" With a cackle, he continued to back away from Severin, having fun with his new-found game. He frowned, unhappy, when he noticed that the older werewolf wasn't paying attention to him anymore, but had turned to look at Charlotte.

Charlotte smiled, leaning casually against a brick wall. "Something bothering you?" she asked, blinking a few times as Severin looked at her with a peculiar ex
pression on his face. She could tell he was curious of something, though what about she wasn't sure...

"Doing what?" Destery asked, clinging to Josh's shoulder and peering down. It looked like he was staring at Josh's shoes, but he wasn't... He just wasn't. "And, no, I'm not going to leave you alone. Not for a wihile." He grinned at the othe vampire. Hopefully, if he really did have a life, he'd let him tag along and see what it was like. He got bored of his own life pretty often.

Severin tilted his head. "Where did you go...?" he asked, his brow furrowing. Then, he blinked at Jason, and pounced on him, catching him in a headlock. He looked unhappy, so he figured that if he paid a little attention to him, he'd be so frustrated that he wouldn't want to be paid attention. "You were there for one second, and the next, you weren't. The third time I look up, there you are again."
