A sword is what exploded on me. They do, in fact, explode, and it hurts. A lot. He rubbed his arms. He really wouldn't be as comfortable having Aslin carry that sword around. the person with the other sword had died from carrying it. He shook his head. He couldn't let that happen to Aslin.

It really is fine. I have coped with it for so many years that hurting barely hurts now. Really, once you get past the hurt, it always makes you stronger. If you want, we can go get my bow and my family sword. He smiled to reassure her. He didn't want her to be upset, it always broke his heart when people cried.

They reached the quarters he had in his castle. They were absolutely pathetic, and he was ashamed for the two girls to see them.
Well, Welcome to my humble abode. Emphasis on the humble.
He opened the door and showed them what had been his house for a year. It was nothing more than a closet, and it even leaked sometimes. He had buckets full of water all over the floor, trying to keep the water from collapsing all over his precious belongings. Photos of his family were plastered all over the walls, especially ones of him and his little brother and sister. They had had so many good memories, until his sister had died of Lukemia and his brother had committed suicide out of despair. Now, he was an only child with two parents that were so depressed they couldn't support themselves, and that was why he had to take this job. He scurried in his room and took his diamond sword off the place where he had hung it on his wall. He proceeded to open his small chest and take his beautiful hand carved bow and arrows out, then get his ruby dagger out and strap it around his waist. He handed the sword to Aslin.
There you go. Please take good care of it, it has been in my family for so many years. Also, while we are gone, can you make sure my parents get taken care of? They, well, they got depressed after my sister died and my brother killed himself. I have been supporting them for years, and while i am gone my pay will stop, and if I don't come back no one will take care of them.
He turned his head to hide the tear that was running down his face. His parents had been the sole purpose of his life for years. To think that him not coming back would kill them, that was just something he couldn't take.

He thought of the black stallion he had been granted to use on weekends at the castle. He wouldn't be able to stand it if he had to leave midnight behind.

He flashed back again to the days he had spent in the forest shooting at targets and pinning flies to trees without killing them. They were the only happy moments he had had for years, most of his life had been spent working to support his parents. He had been an apprentice to so many people, until he had been burned my the magical sword maker. Then, no one would take him, and he had to apply for the job at the castle. His task master still didn't know about his burns. He rubbed his arms without thinking about it.
