Miri gave a sigh of relief as she sat down on her bed, The move had taken all the energy out of her and her half brother and sister. She'd been lucky that some of the guys from the station had been willing to help move stuff too. The house was quiet. She knew she couldn,t replace their parents she'd do her best to see they were happy. She'd been lucky that she'd planned to have kids in a few years when she'd bought the house.
Jory had taken the attic room as his own, saying it was a good place for him to star gaze and the like with his telescope. He had been quiet most of the drive to Forks but soon as he saw Miri's house he laughed and relaxed.
Zoe was in the bedroom closested to the second bathroom. She'd put up posters of various boy bands across the walls in her room first thing after gettng her cloths in the dressers she owned. Zoe hadn't said much other than thanks for not making them go to child services.
Miranda wouldn't have done that. Her parents will had named her guardian and she'd accept that as part of family. Sophia's extended family lived in Toronto Canada and her father's family had pretty much disowned him. So Miri was it for taking care of the twins. They'd not been close but they'd never gotten into many fights either.
Miranda sighed again as she flopped back on her bed. Her room was the masterbed room, had it's own bathroom and walk in closet. The main colors in the room were deep green and dark golden hue. Like the forest around them on a sunny day. At least that is what Miri had thought when she,d been painting. She'd left the other room unpainted for now. After school she'd take Jory and Zoe to the hardware store to see what they wanted to change their rooms too.
She still had a week of leave then it was back to work.

Jory looked out the telescope's lense towards the moon, he'd never say it aloud but he really was glad Miri had agreed to take him and Zoe, the idea of being in child services made his skin crawl. He knew too many kids that had been in child services and only a few had nice stories to tell. He turned to the star map and started looking for Mars. It was supposed to be visible for three days(nights).

Zoe hummed along to the music on her Ipod as she laid out her cloths for the next day. The moved had been alright in her opinion. It was a shame that Miri had to trade in the motorcycle. It had been REALLY nice. She figured later Miri would get a new one. It wasn't like their parents hadn't put money aside for them all encase they'd gotten killed but Miri was nothing if not responsible.
She made sure their college funds got transfered okay and handled the funerals, Even suggesting to the twins to take the time away. Instead of going to the funeral. They way they'd have only the fond memories to keep. Zoe and Jory had stood by her at the funeral hall though. Family needed to stick together. Good and bad.

Miri dropped the twins off at school, they'd insisted on going to the office and everything on their own. "Good luck you guys. Text me if you need me to sort anything."
Jory snorted as he got out of the car he pulled his backpack on without further noise and waited for Zoe to get out. He was wearing a green polo t shirt and black jeans with his sketchers sneakers.
Zoe leaned forward giving Miri's neck a own armed hug. "See you later Mir." she slid out of the car pulling her backpack on after she closed the door. She was wearing a teal long sleeve scoop necked t shirt, grey pants and sandles. Her toenails were painted teal and rose pink, matching the polish on her finger nails.
Miri watched them head towards the school with a sad smile. Today was going to be rough on them but she was such they'd make it okay. She waited until the cars around her were saftly stopped before she backed out and headed for the house...
