Crisp fall air blew through the suburbs of Redwaters, a large town with its' own successful college. It's a peaceful place, until the morning newspaper arrives. Cross-worders and "Arts & Crafts" section readers woke up with a start at the headlines.

"A murder at Redwater College! The local Astronomy teacher was found hanging in the greenhouse! Professor Greyson Plumme, or more commonly known by his students as Professor Plum, will be missed, but who could the murderer be?"

Terrible and shocking news to all that knew and loved the teacher. Students that were afraid to come to school. Teachers that were startled, but must go on educating. Surely this was a one-time thing?

"A double murder! Professor Lydia Jayson, the botany teacher, found hanging in the Physics laboratory! Cause of Death is yet to be announced."  

""The killer strikes again! Sue "Coach" Schwimmer, the Pysics professor at Redwater College has been found hanging in the Observatory! Stabbed to death!"

"Not even students are safe now. One of the late Professor G. Plumme's students, Jessica Dawson, was found in a puddle of water in the Astronamy clas.sroom, drowned to death. Will the slaughter stop?"

"Death count of Redwood College is up to 5! Devin Salls, a local botany student, was found poisoned in Lydia Jayson's clas.sroom! Will the killer strike again tomorow?"

The next morning's headlines brought more grim tales.

"A sixth murder has occured!... In step with the correlation between the murders from the past 5 weeks, another has fallen. Just as three teachers have been hung, the late Professor Greyson Plumme, Professor Lydia Jayson, and Coach Schwimmer, then their corresponding students, Jessica Dawson and Devin Salls, one of Coach Schwimmer's students has been found dead. James Peterson was found dead of electric charges, and not natural seeming ones either. Will these murders stop?"

The headmaster stopped reading, his gruff voice seemingly angry. He slapped the newspaper down on the mahogany desk, thick eyebrows furrowed  in frustration.

"God knows why, but there is a serial killer out loose in this college. This is not good publicity children." His bloodshot eyes stared at each of the twelve students. "You've been called to my office for a most peculiar reason. Corrine Thatch." The man glared at the auburn-haired girl's green eyes, shoving a small manila envelope addressed to her into her quivering hands. The eyes of her peers forced her to crack open the seal and pull out what was inside. Immediately her knees buckled and she flipped the pictures upsidedown. Kiri Demure knelt beside her, seeing that the photographs were of James Peterson, the latest murder and Corrine Thatch's late boyfriend. "Don't just sit there and weep, or Jame's death will have been in vain." The principal said briskly, helping her to her feet and bringing out the letter portion, after collecting the other photographs inside and paperclipping them together.

"Read."

"To those twelve whom it may concern,

Congratulations! You've been entered in a sweepstake to be the headline's next hero. Surely you have noticed the murders appearing at this college. Let me tell you they're no mistake. You twelve have been chosen because of your birth. Each of you a different zodiac sign, each a different personality. These will be key in solving the mystery of the Pewter Stars. Sound familiar dearhearts? As in those that lead up to where each professor was hung? Let me tell you how this contest works.

There are a few simple rules you must first follow;

1) Each week you go without solving who I am, another will die, and with him or her, another obvious clue will appear.

2) If you bring anyone but yourselves into this, ten people will die each day, and I will not be choosy about picking you off.

3) Don't trust anyone.

4) These cryptic clues are the only way to stop your dearies from dying as the other six have.

5) Be careful, I am amung you.

A single shudder went through the room as Corrine read the letter steadily, though the girl's hands shook. The timer to the next murder had started.

"The Virgo"- An overachiever who will dump too much stress on themselves, but has a sweet heart.

"The Libra"-A humbler character who rejects all arrogance, hurting others, gossip and such. Unfortunately, they also reject many opportunities to be higher in position and getting farther in life.

"The Scorpio"- A very pas.sionate and opinionated person, though is a bit too headstrong and is a little powerthirsty.

"The Saggittarius"- A very free-floating type person that hates to be tied down, and can be stubborn and difficult because of that.

"The Capricorn"- A hard-working person who struggles to balance their work with time off.

"The Aquarius"- An almost split-minded person who is very ecenteric and ingenious, but can get a little crazy fast.

"The Pices"- Though skilled and mysterious, this person is easily confused by what's going on around them.

"The Aries"- A very spontaneous and outgoing person who trusts maybe a little too much; their naivete often leads them to be betrayed and hurt.

"The Taurus"- A very withheld person who is strong, cool, and unmoved by most, and often seems snobby or sulky or boring.

"The Gemini"- A mischevious and fast-paced fun lover who wants to do everything, often left by themselves being seen as never having time to smell the roses.

"The Cancer"- Because this symbol is ruled by the moon, this person is very moody, for good and bad.

"The Leo"- This person is very outgoing and their own, not caring about other's emotions sometimes, however, is devoted to loved ones.

Appearance: Shoulder-length brown hair. Green eyes. Generally smiling. Kiri tries to stay happy, or at least appear so, at all times. She had encountered some deep troubles in her life, and isn't always as happy as she appears. She wears tees and tanks, never long sleeves. Her rough and skinny jeans show off the little curves she has, and tight shirts too. However, no low-tops or deep v cuts are ever seen on her torso. She's an animal lover, and has a black cat that she keeps with her at all times possible. The cat has midnight-black fur and green eyes, like Kiri. Kiri will never leave this cat.

Personality: Happy, fun, lighthearted. Can be deep at times. Clumsy xD Kiri is true to her star sign, humble and earthy. She cares much about the environment, and thinks its very important. Her thoughts are always on some other path, and she's taken for stupid, while actually she's thinking more deeply than most of the other students in the college. She never wants to hurt people and doesn't want to say no.

Appearance: A short and small girl who has light golden skin and red-gold hair shot through with black streaks. She has a narrow face with high cheek-bones and almond shaped eyes. Her eyes are dove-gray with black flecks in them. She prefers to wear black skinny jeans and a light blue tank top.

Additional: She has this odd affinity for animals, almost like a horse whisperer, per say.

Name: Corrine (Cori) A. Thatch

Appearance: Corrine Thatch has medium skin with golden undertones rather than pink ones. What does that mean? It means she's averagely tan. Her eyes are green, with a single ring of gold around each pupil, and a darker rim around her irises. Her wavy auburn hair reaches to her upper-mid back, and she wears it up as much as she wears in down, her styles changing variously depending on her mood. She's pretty skinny for 5'8", and has a considerable chest and an average waist. Comfortable clothing includes jeans, leggings, skirts, tank tops, t-shirts, cardigans, and dresses. She has a pretty large wardrobe. He doesn't have any definate freckles, but a few here and there. She often wears makeup, mascara, cover-up, eyeshadow, and depending on her mood and how much time she has, blush and eyeliner. In general, Cori's pretty attractive, though she'd never admit it. 

Personality: Cori is a generally happy-go-lucky person, though she has a bit of a temper. Corrine often over-works herself, and in turn ends up sick a lot, though is always ready to be in action again. She's terribly shy, and only kind of a neatfreak. She has a kind soul and a big heart, so she'll often put others infront of herself. A natural born leader, Cori can get frustrated if things get out of order, and has a strong want to be the one in charge at all times. Another side affect of her natural leadership is why she is majoring in Law sschool, she loves to let justice reign and argues fiercely. She longs for a relationship like hers with James, one where they can be loyal and so totally in love, a hopeful romantic.

Additional: Her boyfriend, James Peterson, was the last of the first six victims. She is Kiri Demure's best friend and majoring in Law School.

Name: Renee I. Asher

Age: 19

Appearance: Renee stands at exactly five feet tall and has been shorter than most her whole life. She has a thin, slightly curvy build with slight muscles from playing softball for the past four summers and her skin is nicely bronzed from being in the sun all the time. Sun-streaked, honey blonde hair hangs pin-straight all the way down to her waist and Renee usually wears her bangs up in a small 'poof' on the top of her head. Renee's most attractive features are her large, brilliant blue eyes and her dazzling white smile, which she is always showing off. Your average surfer type girl. You'll see her wearing layered, neon-colored shirts and jean capri's, usually with fashionable rips in them, and a pair of flip-flops.

Personality: Renee is a very outgoing girl and always speaks her mind. If she's thinking something, she's most likely going to say it whether you like it or not. She usually doesn't mean anything by it. It's just the way she is and always has been. Renee isn't one to lie and always tells the truth, but sometimes this isn't such a good thing. She is a kind person and is very devoted to her friends and family.

Additional: She's majoring in Animal Biology at Redwater College and has been volunteering at an animal shelters since she was in high school.
