Name: Francis Collignon Age: 18 yrs old Gender: ♂Species: Wolf
Personality: Very strange as a child and never really grew out of it. He may appear harmless but thoroughly enjoyed gore and horror films/graphic novels before the apocalypse happened. Francis is naturally withdrawn, not even bothering to contemplate if he should become more extroverted. He is infatuated with death, and is one to question the universe and the world around him, often wondering why things exist the way they do. Despite his fascination with the things that go bump in the night, he is very kind to those he finds worth his time.
Past: Before the death of the planet he called home, Francis lived in a shelter for teens who had been tossed out of their homes for whatever reason it might be. He shared a room with three other boys, though nothing else was shared between them. They had nothing in common. And the boys often had things to complain about, as Francis decorated his side of the room with posters from various foreign films that weren't shy about showing what happened when someone was disemboweled. He didn't stay with others for long, and was given his own room, where even the adults tried to avoid contact with him due to his odd behavior and choice of interests. When the apocalypse happened, Francis quickly bailed on the home, finding refuge in the mountains. As of now, he's survived on his own, avoiding the danger of anything and everything.
Family/Relationships: Both of his parents, Colleen and Bridgette Collignon, were very busy women and never had time for their family unless it had something to do with their daughter Emile, who was an active participant in a small French revolutionists group in high school. Despite the family being a third blood French unit, the other half of them divided between Korean and Japanese, they always embraced the French. It wasn't long before problems began to arise in the household. Francis was always holed up in his room and his mothers began to slowly drift apart. His sister became pregnant and ran away with her fiancee, never heard from again. Soon enough, the two women divorced and never came home one night. It was the last he saw from his parents, not that he ever saw much of them anyway. He lived on the street for only a week, until he was taken into a boy's home.Other: Enjoyed art, Japanese metal music, and anything related to horror.Human Form: tle="" target="_blank">LooksAnimal Form: tle="" target="_blank">Looks

{ I'm joining. Why not. What the hell. My roleplaying has to be a bit rusty at this point but I'll do my best! I'll edit this post with my bio in a sec. }
Bio: Mayhem!
Name: Cameron Ropel
Age: 22
Gender: She's a lady
Species: Bobcat
Personality: Cameron is a neutral presence if nothing else. A follower-- She's content to let others lead and make the final calls as long as their decisions aren't utterly moronic, in which case she might end up doing things her own way. Cam enjoys conversing and spending time with other people regardless of if she actually likes them or not, so it can be difficult to discern her true feelings towards others. She is often in a solid state of mind; no matter what might be going on, Cameron typically has no doubts about herself or her moral decisions. They are often based on loyalty. Due to this, she can be a pillar in tumultuous situations.
Past: Cameron lived just with her mother for the first 12 years of her life. It was quiet but genuine; they lived in the suburbs on the edge of a bit city, tending to a garden and working a couple jobs each to keep their life comfortable. A year later her mother married a man and had three children with him--twin boys and a girl. Cam didn't much care for her stepfather, but she was fiercely devoted to her new siblings. She was at a work shift when the first wave of the apocalypse struck, and was filed into a separate evacuation and holding station from the rest of her family. She escaped to reunite with them but an aftershock made that impossible. She never saw them after that, but she never stops looking either.
Family/Relationships: Mother, stepfather, three siblings. May or may not be alive.
Other: Enjoys sparring, whether friendly or otherwise. Has an affinity for meat of all kinds, blueberries, and leaves.

Mayhem Name: Ira Gerten
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Species: Harpy Eagel "This is often called the most powerful eagle in the world, weighing up to 9 kgs and measuring 105 cms long. Its talons are longer than a bear’s claws, and it has such a powerful grasp, that it could break a man’s arm or even pierce through his skull if it wanted to. In some parts of its range (southern Mexico, Central and South America), Harpy eagles have been said to snatch small children, but this has never been confirmed. They feed mostly on monkeys, sloths, and large birds such as macaws. Iguanas and boas are also taken on occasion. Harpy eagles have a wingspan of around 2 meters, much shorter than would be expected on such a large bird; this is an adaptation to fly in densely forested habitats, where a greater wingspan would mean less maneuverability, and therefore, more accidents. Unfortunately, Harpy eagles are endangered in most of their range, due to habitat destruction; in some places of Mexico, for example, they are so rare that locals regard them as a semi-legendary animal."
Personality: Ira is quite a complex person. While she indulges in sarcasm, she is often quite sensitive to people's feelings, and has a habit of defending people who have no defenders. She is smart and quick-thinking, and is often thought of as stubborn, strong-willed and solid, but quite mature. And she takes no crap from anyone.
Past: When apocalypse first came out, her parents were ripped apart by some savages that had acquired a taste for human flesh and she hid in an abandoned shack for four months, even though she was only a young kid and had no family but her two younger siblings - Ash, who was three at the time, and Lila, who was six at the time. Ash grew sick with disease and Ira had to make a decision that almost destroyed her soul - leave her vulnerable young brother and make a new life for Lila and her, or stay by him and risk catching the disease herself. She left him. Family/Relationships: Lila. She had never been one for making friends.
Other: She has a soft spot for little kids, hates spiders, fears being alone
Human Form: Ira is average-looking. She has beige skin and hazel eyes, which turn slightly greener when she is feeling negative emotions and browner if she's feeling positive emotions. Her hair is thick, curly, and dark brown - short for practicality. Although there's a relative scarceness of food, she's about average weight. Short, though, maybe five feet.

((Thank you all for joining and everyone is accepted of course! I will begin to type up my starter and then everyone else can begin. This post is going to be my starter so it doesn't go to waste so make sure to check back in a little bit to read it.))
The chilled wind ran through the empty forest that once used to thrive with ease, nesting all sorts of animals from danger. Now, they were rotted and bare with their leaves scattered all across the ground, their bark burnt black from the wildfires that seem to start randomly around the land. It were as if the earth had given up and was just waiting for its death to come quickly and quietly. Many people had died, their homes left to survive the apocalypse that they could not and many of their pets had run off in search for a better place.
Two lone figures walked idly down one of the very common unused roads, where cars could be seen left abandoned all over. Each male sighed tiredly as they traveled through the wreck of cars, having to climb over a few before being able to look inside. Anything could be helpful but what their eyes were searching for most was food, any kind, it didn't matter to either one of them. A small snarl moved over the blond male's face as he saw nothing inside one of the vehicles. "This is getting old." Snapped the figure as he growled to himself, ignoring the look he got from his brother standing nearby.
"Everyday we keep going through the same thing. We go down these roads lookin' for food and there's never any left. Why don't we do somethin' smart for once and go down the roads that aren't as easy to find huh? Maybe then there'd be some food left over that someone else hasn't already snatched!" Johann's voice grew louder with annoyance as he spoke and he let his fist slam down on one of the cars, a snarl on his face once again. The slightly larger brother sighed and shook his head in response to the blond's outburst. "We're already going down this road so we might as well look around a bit. Keep it down before you attract too much attention." Markus spoke quietly to him as his cautious eyes scanned around, ears listening carefully for any distant noise that might catch his attention.
In silence they continued on. Johann gripped tightly to the large backpack he was carrying and groaned almost silently as he watched Markus glance through a few vehicles. The road they were on was surrounded in burnt forests and many of the cars were even charred from the flames. A large tunnel could be seen down the road with cars packed tightly inside. Both hungry figures halted in their walking as they noticed it and Markus glanced at the nearby forest. "C'mon let's go around." He spoke quietly to the agitated male behind him. "Oh no are you sure?? Why would we go around?! There's a whole pile up of cars over there don't you wanna peek inside all of them and make sure we haven't forgotten anything?? Maybe we should go back and double check the ones we did look inside of! You never know, we could have missed something worthwhile!" Dark sarcasm was laced through the brother's voice as he mocked the figure in front of him as they started off the road and through the forest.
A sigh left Markus as he tried his best to ignore the ranting brother behind him. This was how it always was when something happened that didn't go to Johann's liking. He was known for taking it out on others or even objects around him but Markus knew not to take anything Johann said to heart. Silence came over the two of them once again and all that was heard were the leaves crunching under their feet. Blue eyes looked around the area and for a moment he saw something dart behind a tree quickly. Narrowing his eyes he lifted his nose into the air but caught nothing. Shrugging it off, he continued on. Often glancing behind him just in case.

The two men were being much too loud; they were scaring away all of the food that the crow could have otherwise gotten. Not that it was much, but still--just one worm would taste like heaven to the near-starved bird. The crow blinking its unnaturally red eyes and alighted n one of the deserted vehicles on the road the two men were traveling on. The men took no notice of the bird, continuing on their way and bickering rather loudly. Over stupid matters, too, the crow noted. There wasn't going to be food on ANY roads, it would all been salvaged by humans. The only hope for food was live bits--not that these two men seemed capable of hunting. --- Scarlett Summers ducked down under the wheel of the car, hoping desperately that the two men would see her. Instinctively she shape-shifted into a rabbit to conceal herself. A small brown bunny would be much less noticeable than a teenage girl with bright red hair. Oh, please just go on past, she thought desperately. Ever since the apocalypse started Scarlett had been afraid of other humans. Nobody bothered to take care of her when she was sick, for fear of catching a disease that didn't affect them in a world that wanted them all died. When she was in human form, everyone left her--she 'wasn't worth their precious resources'. Rabbit form wasn't much better, either. They all wanted to kill her.

((Oh my goodness it's been years since I've roleplayed on this site. Please bear with me, I'm a little rusty x3 It's mayhem out there.)) Name: Charley Conrad Age: 26 Gender: Female Species: Reindeer Personality: Sharp and a bit cynical, Charley has grown to be harsh over the time she's spent in such a hostile world. A very private person, she's slow to trust others, and is quick to point the finger of blame. In spite of this, she's usually the first to laugh, make rather dry jokes, and will cover the weaker when there's danger around. Despite having an herbivore shapeshifter, she will eat meat. Past: A normal housewife before this all began, with a loving husband and 6-year-old. When the world began to fall apart, she was working, and by the time she fought her way home, both members of her family were gone. She still believes they are alive, and searches with all her might for them. Family/Relationships: Anya Conrad : daughter Mike Conrad : husband Other: She's a skilled tracker. Human Form: Animal Form: Charley wanted to scream. The deer she had tracked for all those miles, killed and eaten by some other creature. Throwing her skinning knife into the ground in frustration, she sighed, a dark smile flitting across her already dark features. A deer hunting a deer, how... ironic. She pulled the knife from the dirt, attaching it to the belt at her waist. Her anger sated somewhat, she examined the bloody carcass with cold eyes, staring into the depths of the creature's now-empty sockets. Human bite marks. Charley suddenly lowered to the ground, whipping her knife out again in an often repeated motion. They ate it raw, disgusting. Probably a savage. It's fresh, too, not an hour old. She stood still, taking in the sounds of the forest before relaxing somewhat, standing up and dusting off her knees. It won't be far, but I haven't been attacked yet, so that's a plus.
Charley continued on her way, hunger setting in. The crunching of leaves was her only companion under the bleak, naked trees. There were no birds singing; the ones that hadn't been eaten already were huddling in their nests, waiting for death to come, blessed relief for a creature that can only wait in terror until teeth rip their flesh and break their bones. Another companion raised its head- several crashes, and loud human voices wafting through the stagnant air. Charley listened in, curious. After a few moments, she chuckled darkly, taking out her knife. No need to be on guard, these idiots will be easy pickings. I might leave them with a few supplies, just to be nice.
The voice became louder an louder, until there was a sudden silence. Charley continued in the general direction of the voices, dodging behind trees and making as little noise as possible. There they were. The two imbeciles. One blonde, the other grey haired. Evidently brothers. One had a large backpack, most likely filled with supplies, maybe food. Charley grinned. These two idiots are just begging for death. Good thing they ran into me, not a cannibal. Stepping out from a dead tree, Charley put herself in plain view of the brothers, this time taking a gun out of her belt, holding it lazily. "Hello," she said, stepping closer, a peaceful look on her face, but a threatening aura surrounding her, "got anything edible to spare? I'm just dying for some food." She stopped at a safe distance, eying them up and down. If they threaten me, I'm shooting the grey-haired one first, She thought, smiling, I'm not one for the shy approach. She fingered the trigger of her Zastava, waiting for a reply. The longer she looked at them, the more they reminded her of her husband. But maybe she was just going crazy. She hadn't seen a sane person in ages, let alone her husband. Besides, they seemed too young.

He awoke with a start, hand pressing to the cold, soggy earth as his body went to lift itself off of the ground. The back of his once bright yellow sweater was damp and covered in bits of the forest which clung to his clothing like limpets. Standing shakily, the youth dusted his blue hair free of dead leaves and dirt, not bothering to do the same with his clothes.
The air was brisk, even his breath was visible when he yawned to wake himself. Rubbing his arms to gain warmth, Francis took a moment to familiarize himself with the area he had chosen as his sleeping spot the previous night. It was the first bit of sleep that he had gotten in a while. Safety was a priority, yet he had been so desperate for sleep that he jumped at the chance the moment he found a secluded spot, ignoring the fact that danger could be lurking close by.
Francis didn't stand idle for long, his tattered old tennis shoes carrying him over the land with as much ease as could be expected. The youth sniffled and wiped his slightly runny nose on his damp baggy sleeve, sighing as he got tired of walking over fallen branches and upturned trees. It surprised him when he reached the edge of the small forest he slept in, though he was thankful that no one was in sight.
If it was one thing Francis disliked, it was confronting or being confronted by other people. He much preferred it on his own. That way, he would never have to worry about anyone else. He'd never have to look after anyone but himself. It was annoying to be confronted, before the apocalypse even. Luckily, he never had experienced such an unfortunate thing after the "end" happened. Keeping away from any roads was a sure way to steer clear of looters or cannibals, who travel on the main roads looking for any lost soul who had stumbled onto their path.
Despite his belief to stay away from the roads, Francis stepped out into the open, feeling the gravel and concrete conversing beneath his tennis shoes. Scattered on the road in the distance were few parked cars here and there, abandoned and damaged from nature and man alike. Sniffling, Francis decided that the road looked safe enough, and started his walk once more. Perhaps somewhere deep down, he really did want to find others. Whatever the case, curiosity or hope of finding creatures like him, he'd never openly admit it.

Leaves continued to crunch under the weight of the two brothers as they walked, doing their best to follow the direction of the main road they had previously been traveling on. Each one carrying their own backpack that was full of blankets, cooking supplies, batteries, an old flashlight and other small things that they happened to find on their way. Neither figure carried any sort of human weapon. Both males were equipped with their own hunting and defensive resources that they could use if need be.
A strange scent soon carried itself to the pair, catching their attention instantly as they halted to a stop. Johann's fair hair seemed to bristle slightly in anxiousness as he became alert and watched his rear, blue eyes shifting quickly around him. "What is that?" The voice was quiet, almost silent as the blond grit his teeth together. Markus didn't reply as he concentrated on his own senses, trying his best to keep his instincts calm. Whatever they were smelling was close and the elder figure narrowed his eyes at a dead tree that wasn't too far away from them.
Hearing the crunch of leaves, Johann's head snapped around to see a figure step out from behind an old rotting tree. An instant snarl appeared on his face as he removed the bag from around his shoulder and took a step forward but the youth was forced to stop as Markus held his arm out in front of him. The dark haired's gaze was calm and collected as he noticed the gun held by the figure before them. "We don't want any trouble." He stated in a clear voice while carefully watching the female.
The snarl on Johann's face grew into a wide grin as he gave a curt laugh at what the stranger had asked. Blue eyes were still filled with hostility towards the being as he narrowed his eyes at her. "To spare?? No one has anything to spare! And what the hell makes you think we have food huh?!" The blond haired male snapped with a slight threatening tone to his voice. "Easy.." The brother attempted to keep the hot headed male calm and he shot a quick glare back at him. "We don't have anything for you. Look somewhere else." Markus replied in a stern voice, not wavering his gaze towards the female. He didn't want things to turn ugly, though it was proving difficult with Johann's unstable temper.
Growling lowly under his breath, the slightly younger brother let his predatory eyes move from Markus to the stranger, stepping aside from his brother's arm. This newcomer had a strange scent, unlike one belonging to that of a human and it piked his curiosity. There was about three feet between him and Markus now and the male stopped and waited for the female's next move, preparing himself for anything that might happen next.

(Is it alright if I write in first person, present tense? ) "Lila? Lila!" I whisper-shout, my voice weak and hoarse from lack of food. Her sleep-sand clotted eyes snap open. "Ira?" she croaks. "We need to get up," I tell her. "Look for food." She nods sleepily, and yawns as she straightens up in the rotting barn which is our shelter - our home. My stomach screams at me, and I double up from the pain, trying to breathe deeply. For a few days we've had nothing to eat but leaves, which are obviously not adequate - and I've given most of them to poor Lila. Lila touches my shoulder, her eyes wide with worry. "What is it?" she asks, alarmed. "I'm OK," I assure her. Who am I fooling? Not her, and certainly not me. I found an old map that we missed when looking around. Says there's a river near a road from here. We could fish." I can tell from her ex pression that questions are buzzing in her small head, but she knows questioning me just makes me even more anxious. "It's a bit far, really," I go on, arm round her. "Twenty miles." She stares at me. We never venture out to places too remote, and always steer clear fom roads. There are people who would be more than happy to kill and eat us. I would cover the distance much quicker if I shifted - but Lila isn't a shape-shifter. "Pack up, use the toilet" - I almost laugh - like we didn't take all the water from the toilet when we got here; like the electricity still works - "If we leave soon we'll be there by evening."
My stomach roars in protest. It wants fish at this very moment. "I think it's time to use the emergency food," I say, my voice strained. "Emergency food?" she echoes I forgot that I didn't tell her. "Yes. I saved up some food in case we really, really needed it." Her eyes are bright. "How much?" she asks excitedly. "I can't remember," I reply. "Come see. She follows me as I exit the barn- careful to cast a cautious look around our countryside surroundings - and go round it's barely upright planks of wood, until I find the spot I buried the stuff six onths ago. She's holding her metal shovel - good. I've drummed into her for a long time to always carry a weapon - just in case. "I need to dig it up," I tell her, and she passes me the shovel. "Keep a look out," I instruct as I get a firm grip on the tool and bury it in the earth, then glance again at the area around us.
"Ira?" "Yeah?" I lift up some of the dirt and toss it behind me. "Why did you bury it?" I insert the shovel in the ground again, wriggling it as deep as I can. "I would be tempted to get it when I was only a bit hungry. The thought of the work I'd have to do would stop me." "Oh." Grunting, I prise another clump of earth off. My breathing is already becoming laboured - I do not have much energy. I repeat the motion, my stomach ripping my insides to shreds, my shaking arms aching, my head pounding with a ferocious headache. Finally, I feel the shovel head touch something hard and unyielding. I drop the tool, and sit down abruptly, breathing so heavily, I don't think I can even stand it. "Can . . . you . . . get it . . . out?" I pant. Lila turns round and complies. She's very tall for her age - clears five and a half feet- so she manages to pull the box out. With hands motivated by the prospect of food, she snatches it out of the ground quickly, then tries to yank it open. "Key..." I remove it from my pocket and hand it over. My heartbeat isn't yet back to normal. "You don't trust yourself very much, do you?" she murmurs, putting the key in the lock. No, I don't. She finally opens the plastic container, and removes the contents. There are two bags. She opens one and reaches a hand inside, ready to eat immediately . . . I badly want to grab one and devour all the food, but I must be responsible. "Wait. We might have to ration - or take it slowly." "I'm hungry, Ira." She turns pleading eyes towards me. "You're twelve. It's time you start thinking responsibly." I remember with a pang that my parents said the same thing to me before they . . . "Hand them over," I say abruptly. Anything to stop the memories. "No." She sticks her hand in and comes out with a fistful of crackers, and stuffs a whole one in her mouth, jaws overworking to manage the sudden intake of nutrition. "Lila," I say, irritated now, but so, so hungry/"Please listen to me-" But before I know it, five crackers are making their way into my mouth with quick succession. * Each bag contained ten crackers, ten strips of dried beef, two hundred grams of dried fruit, and a tin of baked beans. I make Lila save the baked beans and the beef, and myself, too - they go in our packs, which also contain a knife, a sleeping bag, a one litre bottle of water, and a whistle, and in my case, the map. "This way," I say, pointing north-east. We're deep in a forest, so we should be safe, for now. Most animals have been killed for food but it wouldn't hurt to meet a rabbit or something. "Tell me if you feel you need a rest," I tell her. "Mmh." We set off.

Kylie woke up and yawned softly, her blonde curls bouncing into place. She opened her once bright blue eyes that now have become dull with stress. Getting up from the pile of leaves which she called her 'bed' was comfortable. She looked around at her sightings, bare and black. Movement caught her attention and she realized it was a small bird, changing into her fox form she killed it and crunched it happily. Food felt so good in her stomach, she hadn't eaten in a long time. Changing back into her human form, she walked back to her 'bed' and lay down. She couldn't fall asleep again so changing into her fox form she hid under the roots of a tree. Her ears flickered as she heard voices and the sound of feet on a road. She stretched and hopped out her hole. Dragging her back pack into the hole and moving all the leaves in the hole, she went to investigate. Her paws crunched on the ground below, so she moved off the leaves where it was quiet. The voice got louder and got uneasy. Kylie flinched as the voices turned ugly but kept walking when she heard a calm voice. Trotting closer the sight scared her. Two men, most probably brothers, were staring at a woman holding a gun. Kylie backed slowly and silently as the gun scared her. A twig behind her snapped and Kylie cursed under her breath, what's going to happen now?

The crow stood on top of the car hood, still unnoticed, although by this time several more people had come to the road. It was like a metropolis for all the survivors. Oh, for goodness' sake. the crow thought. And perhaps part of her wanted to by found. No--part of her definitely wanted to be found. Perhaps she would be more visible as a human. -- Scarlett carefully came out from under the wheel of the car. Looking out the window, she saw crow. Maybe, she thought. Maybe I could get food from it. Even meat would be fine at this point. Anything! But how? Scarlett looked down at the gravel road. I could throw a rock at it. Carefully, Scarlett transformed back into a human and opened the car door. She picked up a large but still throw able rock and looked up, prepared to throw it at the bird. But instead of a bird, an older girl with black hair was sitting on top of the car. "You!" Scarlett exclaimed. "You're a shifter!" "So I noticed," the girl replied dryly. "It's not as if you've never seen one before." "Huh?" Scarelett said confused. "Did you seriously think that I didn't see an innocent brown bunny turn into a tall red-headed girl? Please. People these days."

My arm goes out, catching Lila in the chest. She turns to me, and I place a finger on my lips, listening intently. I thought I heard something . . . Yes. I did. Voices. People, I mouth at her, then point north-west - so they're on the road, if I've got my bearings correct. I hold myself completely still. We have learnt to fear strangers. "What should we do?" she whispers, her voice infused with fear. I listen closer. "Sounds like there's quite a few, " I whisper back, still not moving so much as I limb. These people could be dangerous - cannibals, thieves. "We-" "Could we maybe . . . see if . . ." I shake my head vigorously, very against the idea. "You know what happened last time." She bites her lip. We escaped, but not unharmed - I received a painful, albeit shallow knife cut to the arm and she bruises and cuts. "But if we could just look, and they're OK, we could team up-" she tries again. "Lila," I sigh. Sometimes being the kind, patient big sister isn't such a nice job. "Could you just change into a bird and go look?" Lila pleads. I don't know why she's so eager to go meet potentially murderous people. "I'm not leaving you alone!" I say, careful to keep my voice low - just in case. "Come on, let's go." I begin to walk, gingerly, in the direction of the river, tugging at her with my hand. But Lila tears off in the direction of the road. "LILA, NO!" I yell without thinking.

"Freeze," the other girl said. "Be quiet. Tranform." Scarlett obeyed, although she had no idea why. The crow pointed her beak towards two girls who were running towards the road. The girl that was trailing behind seemed a bit hesitant, and seemed to be trying to avoid the road. The crow transformed back into a human. "It's alright. They seem sane enough--and just as scared as we are, if that counts for anything. I'd be careful, though. You never know."
