Demi's clear, beautiful grey eyes widened at his words, and she stared at him just as hard as Tomix had.
"I..."
That was all she could get out before Max walked away, Tomix close behind him in his human form. "Hold it!" She said, splashing through the water after them. She ran out of the cool lake, sand sticking to her feet, until she reached Max and Tomix.
"I said wait. Why did you leave like that?" She scowled slightly, then realized she must have looked angry.
"I mean-- Thanks. For what you said." She swallowed once, her eyes trained on Max. "I'm... glad you don't see me as one."
It was stupid that he would, because he also had a power like her, but even so. It was the first time she truly realized there were people who could accept her.
She looked at his ex
pression. "I'm not angry." She huffed. "Did you think I was?"

"Goin to my cabin. Thats what I was doin." He waved and turned. "See y'all later!" Rope strode to the door and to his cabin, walking along the path one first one side, then the other.

Demi blinked, then glared at him.
"What the hell's wrong with you?" She snapped. "Why are you acting like this? I thought you would be happy that I wasn't angry about what you said. Guess I was wrong." She hissed before turning and walked off in the opposite direction. Back towards the dining hall.
She was halfway up the path when she heard footsteps. She looked up, realizing that she hadn't even noticed Rope coming up the path.
Crap. She tried to wipe the scowl off her face, the angry red cheeks, but it probably still showed.
Seeing Rope was already getting her mood up anyway. She smiled slightly and fell in to step beside him.
"Is Niamh still back there?"

Looking up, Rope blinked, then grinned. "Yeah, I think she is. I forgot what I was doin a second." He was balanced on one leg and put it down on solid groud, deciding to walk normally now. "So, whats up? Havnt seen ya'n ages." He had a feeling she was down, which mad him down, seeing as he seemed to pick up the emotions of the people around him...not his power, just his personality.

Great now she hates me next thing I know Tomix is going to turn on me Max walk towards the apple tree he had been in before and climbed it he sighed Tomix walked around camp clueless of what he could do |

Demi's face lit up in a grin. Talking to Rope really was nice. He had that sort of contagious personality. If he was happy, others around him were.
Ages? More like twenty minutes. She shrugged it off.
"Nothing much. Someone just got on my nerves and I burst out at them, so I decided to take a little walk to cool off." She blinked, then glanced at hers and Rope's feet, which were undoubtedly moving back towards the clearing.
So much for that walk.
"Guess I'm sort of being carried back to the cabins, huh?" She stuffed her hands in her pockets and lifted her head slightly, staring wistfully at the fast-moving clouds, which were starting to gather over the campsite.
"I don't mind though. Talking to you is as good as that walk." She socked him in the arm lightly.

pression darkened at the sight of him, and her posture immediately stiffened.
"Well, hot damn." She snarled sarcastically. Her grey eyes held a cold anger. "Could you give me some time to calm down before you come running to apologize? Unless you want to get yelled at. In that case keep going."

Demi watched him go, her face relaxing slightly when he was out of sight.
"Sorry." She said sheepishly to Rope, looking up at him. "I wish he'd cornered me when I was actually alone." She rubbed her forehead with her palm, then kept walking, letting the forest's sounds and the feel of the wind soothe her.
"Do you think I'm overreacting?" She asked wryly. "Be honest."

Rope looked between the two of them. He had been clutching his arm in mock pain, but now dropped it. "Hey, uhm, whats goin on?" He asked, attempting a smile in a try to lighten the mood. ((So braindead))

True. I haven't explained. Demi remembered. The sighed quietly. "It's pretty stupid really. Me and Max were talking about... our parents. I was going to tell my mom about my powers, and he said how stupid he thought that was clearly enough." Her eyes narrowed.
"Then he said that he couldn't see how anyone would think I was a monster. I thanked him, but he got all sullen and acted as if he had been ignoring me and didn't hear a word I said." Her fingers clenched around the loose bottom of her tank top.

"Oh." Rope blinked rapidly a few times before tilting his head. "Well, you cant let things like that get to you. I've come across the same problem, believe it or not." He shrugged. "You get desencitized after a while an' it dont bug ya near as much...like a horse." After a moments pause, he went on with his wisdom "Only...kids are a lot more messed up."

Demi grinned and giggled. "That's a nice way to put it." She struggled to compose herself, and managed a half-smile as she tried to be serious.
"Yeah. They are. And you're right. I knew it myself, but... I'm just confused. Why did he act like that? He walked away at first because he thought I was angry. I saw his ex
pression. So why was he angry when I wasn't?" She shook her head. "I just don't get it."
