(( Hm, makes me wonder where the RP is going to begin. :3 Like, maybe they each get a letter inviting them to the camp or something? ))

((I dunna.)) Rope fingered the letter in his jeans pocket as he got out of his grandpas truck. When he had opened the letter with the brochure in it claiming that only a select few young people had been chosen, he had left it on the coffee table for his grandpa, leaving the decision making to him; Rope probably would have chosen not to come to some camp in the middle of nowhere...not that he minded that-he preferred to be away from people if he could. The gravel drive crunched under his boots as he and his grandpa-a rough old man with a cla.ssic cowboy handlebar mustache-made their way to the administrators building, each carrying a suitcase belonging to the boy.

One week ago...
The hinges squeaked as Demi slid the mailbox door shut. She winced at the sharp sound. That needs to be oiled. My ears are bleeding. It was mostly junk in the pile, as per usual. She stood, long brown hair drawn up in a messy waterfall at the back of her head. She could feel the sun beating down warmly on to her back as she sifted through the letters and flyers, tossing them one by one in to the recycling bin. She came to the last piece, an envelope, and paused before throwing it away- it was heavy, as if there were more than just paper inside. Sure enough she felt a small but hard lump as she ran her finger over it.
Curiosity siezed her. The front and back of the envelope were blank, save for her address. Without taking it inside and giving it to her mother as she should have, Demi sliced the package open with her fingernail. A shiny black paperweight dropped to the floor, and she frowned. It was hardly a present. Whoever had sent this had probably put it in there so that the people receiving the letter wouldn't just throw it away without looking at it. At least they were smart.
Demi unfolded the paper. It was an invitation to a summer camp. She scanned it over with her clear grey eyes, her frown getting deeper as she went. It sounded sketchy. Apparently the letter had been sent to a select few, and it was free. Still, she was curious, and it sounded like fun. She was completely unoccupied that summer anyway. Demi turned and walked up the path towards her front door...
A sudden blast of wind tore the paper from her hands. It spiralled up, caught in the air like a dead leaf. "Ah! No..." Demi frowned for a second. What a pain... She tensed for a second, then kicked lightly off the ground. That small little push sent her twenty feet in the air. Before gravity had a chance to pull her back down Demi made a flicking motion with her wrist. A small, direct gust of wind arced from her hand and smacked in to the back of the letter, bringing it in her direction. She snatched it just as she began to fall, and landed lightly with the help of a cushion of air just before she met the ground.
She stuffed the invitation in to her pocket and stepped inside. "Mom? There's something I need to show you..."
~
"Have fun, love." Her mother said to Demi before giving her a quick hug. "I'll see you in a month." "Try to manage. Your cooking has improved." "I'll probably get takeout anyway." Demi grinned as her mother backed out of the gravelly driveway. Her mother didn't know about her ability to manipulate air. Not yet, anyway. She planned to tell her sometime.
Demi blinked and started walking up the path, presumably towards the administrator's building. It was a warm day, with a light breeze. Birds sang sweetly. The scenery was picturesque. After a few moments she saw someone up ahead. Two people, actually. One looked younger than the other, though it was hard to tell from the back. Both were decidedly taller than her. She only stood at 5"2, so really it was hard to find people her age who were shorter than her.
With a frown of determination, Demi quickened her pace, coming up beside the boy and his grandfather. "Have you been here before? I really have no idea what to expect. The letter was kind of suspicious." She glanced at Rope.
(( Uwah. D: Super-long intro. Got carried away. I won't write this much for every post, don't worry. xD ))

((LOL. It's alright. I have nuthin else to read for the next month)) Rope turned to look at the girl while his grandpa opened the door and walked inside. A cool blast of air made a mad dash for freedom. Rope shivered as he answered her question."Nah. I aint never been here before." He shook his head, dark blonde, sun streaked hair flopping around. "I only got the impression that this was a camp for 'gifted'. Whatever that is," He snorted. "Cant be nuthin' worse than most places. Im Rope. Sorry if I get a little scattered. A.D.D. an' all that." A smile flashed Demi's way, white against a tanned face.

Demi followed them inside, letting a shiver run up her spine at the sudden change in temperature. "Gifted?" She said quietly. "Hm. I guess so." She blinked, her face a bit distracted. "I'm Demi. And it's alright, I didn't notice." She smiled in return, although her teeth didn't have much contrast against her pale skin. She was even already slightly sunburnt, even if she had been in the sun for maybe ten minutes. She fell quiet for a moment. "Are you... gifted, then?"

((Feyth, who are the two girls?)) Rope nodded at the younger girl. "I guess I am. But not only the way these people see it." He frowned slightly before turning to his grandpa. The old man was filling a form out, his hat between his teeth. Rope shook his head. An' he's always gettin' after me 'bout my manners...

(( I don't mind Demi sharing a cabin with Dusk. :D ))
Demi blinked, mulling his words over in her head. She let the front desk know that she had arrived. They gave her her cabin number- Eleven. "I'm in Cabin Eleven." She told Rope as she walked past him. "See you."
She hauled her huge bag on to her shoulder again and started following the gravel path towards the cabins, according to a small wooden sign shaped like an arrow.
A few minutes later she dropped the bag. It was eerily quiet except for a quiet rustle of leaves on either side of her. She glanced back quickly- no one was around.
Demi turned back to the huge lump of a bag in front of her. Then, she breathed in, and made a kicking motion with of her feet. It was a very subtle movement and her foot barely skimmed on the ground. It stopped short of her bag, but from underneath her feet came a blast of air.
Her bag shot forward, then landed maybe ten feet away. She kept kicking air at the bag as she went, and soon enough she saw a break in the trees.
That must be where the cabins are. She thought.

((Rope and Demi are at camp, and I think the boys'll be separate from the girls...ya know? Ropes a boy. And yeah, they can be friends...)) "Bye Gramps! I'll see ya at the end of this!" Rope waved to his grandpa, who grumbled as he climbed into the truck. "There'll be plen'y of work waitin' for ya back home, Roe. I cant do it all myself." He grinned behind his facial hair and waved, backing the beat up Ford back down the road. Rope watched until he turned and twirled the key to his alloted cabin. Cabin 8, on the other side of the camp. So thats what she meant by separation... he mused as he picked up his bags and trudged up the path

Dusk got her cabin number, number 11, and wandered in, carrying two bags full of supplies and clothing. There was a comp*censored*, that she couldn't read, a book in brail, and a pocket knife. She sat down on her bed and hoped that she would be alone in the cabin. The bed squished slightly as she leaned back on it and then resumed its normal form when she curled up. She fell quickly asleep, it was a few hours later when mroe people started to arrive. Dusk snored loudly on her bed with the two girls chatting near her. She blinked open her purple eyes, not that it mattered, all she saw was darkness either way. She felt something crawl up her arm and felt its piercing stare on her face. "Ummmmm...." The girl was at a loss for words. she placed a hand on it and recoiled, it felt hot. She put her hand in her mouth and sucked on it to get the heat off. She bit her lip and touched it again, suprised that it had cooled down so quickly. It had rigid spines and its head was so tiny that it could fit in the palm of her hand. Its tail was long and there was some sort of ice at the end of it. She gasped, it felt like a dragon, the mythical creatures she had only been told of in story books. She doubled back as the dragon-like thing curled up on her arm and flicked out its tongue. She felt it lap across her arm. It nipped ehr sharply and a cold feeling fell of Dusk as if this animal was Dusk and Dusk was this animal...

Demi exhaled lightly, grabbing her bag's strap and hauling it the rest of the way- a few short feet- to the cabin door. A big, gold '11' hung above the frame. With her left hand she turned the rusted handle. It was quiet in the cabin. Quiet, and even more humid than outside. Demi blinked in the semi-dark. However, one girl lay on one of the cots. She was sitting up and seemed to not have noticed Demi come in. Her purple eyes were pale and unseeing. She's blind. Demi realized.
There was something blue sitting on her lap. Demi leaned forward slightly, then blinked. "That's a really pretty dragon." She remarked before dropping her heavy bag on to the nearest bed. "Is it yours?"

"I think so." Dusk's voice was like smoke, floating away on the wind as she said them. "Its name is Mizu, I think" The Dragon whacked her hand. Its not Mizu, its Mee-zoo. The dragon snapped, not throguh its mouth, but in its mind. Its voice was strict, but with a hint of the voice like someone was trying to explain something to a small child. Dusk growled at the dragon in a very feral way and turned back to the new girl. "Oh, hello." She said with a slight smile. As she said these words, a clicking noise went off in her brain and the dragon sent her a picture of what the girl looked like. She was very pretty. "I*m Dusk." she said, recieving another nip from the dragon. You idiot, you act like a child. "Well, maybe its because I am a child." Dusk barked at the small dragon. Mizu puffed out her chest. I am 112, I am older than you. "Young for a dragon from what I*ve heard." She shot daggers at Mizu from her purple eyes and then stared back at the new girl. "And you are?" This statement gave her another sharp nip from Mizu as if i was rude to ask or answer any questions...

Rope flung his bags on the bottom bunk of one of the racks in the cabin. If any other boys failed to come, he would move to the top. How chivalrous, a small part of his mind stated sarcastically as he flopped down to stare at the writings on the bottom of the top bunk. He couldnt relax, however; it was muggy in the cabin. They couldve at least aired the place out. Sitting up, he frowned and placed one of his bags on the ground in front of the open door. In a few seconds, it was a small portable fan, blowing the air out and circulating it. He nodded, satisfied. That'll work for a few minutes,
