Creo woke up startled, going to check on everything. His mind was distraught, his body was tired. People were dying, because of their ancestors. He trotted to the lake, tentatively drinking water from it. He when, his shook his immense head, sweeping it side to side, observing the scene around him. He closed his eyes, fighting the demons within. Come one, Creo. You've done it before, just kill them, kill them ALL! The voice cackled, making Creo growl at thin air. "No, no that's not me anymore." He spat through gritted teeth. He ran, ran away from the lake that was just too close to the darkness, to his safe territory, which was farthest from it.

Cere padded back towards the cave she called, taking the long way round, she needed time to think 'Why wont he leave me alone?' She wondered, shaking her head slightly. She trotted past, the pack shaman's den a heard a strange laugh from inside "Are you okay?" She called, setting a paw through the mouth of the cave. There was no reply... Cere took another step into the darkness "Hey, are you alrigtht?" She said, her voice echoing in the darkness. There was still, no reply... "Well, Im coming in" Cere informed the shaman, taking several more steps into the gloom of the cave...

Alcarié jerked his head from the ground and yelped with surprise, expecting to see a ghost or demon from his past. Or mayhap even some of the evil beings that were haunting his pack mates. He'd tried to communicate with them, to ask them what they wanted, he'd even tried to get rid of them. But every time he tried they would seemingly dissipate only to return a little later. They were all very annoying. Looking at the newcomer more closely, he exhaled in delight at he recognized the wolf. "No, i'm not okay, then again none of use are." He whispered, looking in a spot over her head. "Things, bad things, are stirring. Keep close to the others is all I can truly say, perhaps then they will leave you alone." He warned, finally looked at her. "Is everything okay with you?" He asked, letting his fur lie flat.

Cere shook her head "No, not really... There are voices in my head... they keep laughing at me..." She replied, looking visibly distressed. 'You can never escape me...' The voice cackled, swirling around her head, like a toxic mist, seeping into her very soul... "There back again!" Cere whined, looking around, searching for the owner of the voice "Tell me you can hear it too, tell me Im not going insane!" She whimpered, swaying on her haunches "Why is it in my head?" She whispered, looking directly at Alcarie.

Sighing tiredly, the shaman wolf padded over and sat down right on front of thew she-wolf, eyes scanning everything yet seeing nothing. "I did not hear anything at that instant, but I believe you Cere." He grinned half-heartedly. "I'm the last wolf you should look to if you want to know if you insane." He mused, then sobered up, flicking his ears back. "But I do not know, or understand what there spirits are, or why their doing what their doing. But I know their evil, and powerful." He growled, snapping at the air yet again. "I'v tried to communicate with them, but they laugh and dissipate, almost as if their trying to torment us." He sighed, looking down. "I'm sorry I cannot help more, but if you ever see anything, or hear anything more let me know and perhaps I can come up with something." He told her softly, shoulders dropping in defeat.

Cere nodded slightly, her sholders quivering "I-I dont know what to do.." Her brown eyes filled with tears "Im scared Alcarie..." She whispered, then began sobbing, salty rivulets running down her copper brown cheeks 'Why me? Why have the god cursed me?' She asked silently, her head free from voices, for once... "I-Im so scared..." Cere murmed, almost inaudble over her sobs... 'My life is hell...' She thought, shaking uncontrolably now 'I am cursed...'

Silver and black fur rippled over powerful muscles as a wolf ran. This was no particular wolf, this was the alpha female. Dusk, for that was her name, was dragging a small deer as she ran, unable to find any other prey that was not somehow diseased. She carefully placed the fresh meat onto the pile where the other's were and sat down, staring sightlessly at the dead prey. A hazy image appeared in her mind of herself as a young wolf and her parents, when they were still alive. She glared at the picture; she could see what was in her mind, just not what was outside. Dusk tried to push it out of her mind, but it would not budge, it kept hanging in her mind like a deadweight. She shook her head furiously and tried to dislodge the picture, send it back to where it had come from. Water started to flow in the image and it swept away all that was her family and she was the only survivor. The wolf grew and she was staring at a mirror image of herself. She stumbled back, t anybody else, it would look as if she was scared of the fresh-kill, but it was the flood. The flood that she had regretted surviving ever since the day she found out the trruth of why her parents never came back. She needed to talk. To her mate? No, he wouldn't listen, she was sure of it, he would think that she shouldn't worry. Why shouldn't she worry, every time something good happened, something bad happened to counter it. When she had been born and was 6 moons old, her parents were killed in a flood. When she had her first litter of pups, they all died the coming winter. When she had fought the alpha for her place as alpha, the wolf had diedafter becoming beta. Was she bad luck, a bad omen. If she was, why hadn't the shaman said anything. Were the wolves mocking her in secret or forming a rebellion. She dug her claws into the ground and breathed out. She needed to calm down and remember that everbody was not against her.

Fell sat alone beside a large tree, winding roots covered the area around him. He was quite a ways away from his pack, and the subconscious monsters that tormented them. It started not too long ago and he noticed other pack members having trouble with things Fell could not see. With a growl, Fell stood up and began to pace. He shouldn’t be out here by himself, trying to decode his problems when he had none. He should be with the pack, trying to help them. Sighing, he decided to hunt first and then return to the pack. Hopefully things would be better… Running off to his left, Fell quickly caught the scent of rabbit. It wouldn’t be much, but it was something. He scented the air, it was somewhere in the bushes. There was one small shrub near the edge of the clearing with gnarled trees and small pines to surround it. Fell was almost invisible to the rabbit. His dark tawny fur were the fallen leaves on the ground in the rabbit’s eyes. With a short yip he skidded into the bush, clamping his jaws cleanly on the rabbit’s back. By the end of his hunting session, Fell had caught at least three rabbits. They were quite scrawny with the exception of one overfed one. They fit in his large jaws perfectly, but he wouldn’t be able to catch another thing. He held his head high in the air as to prevent one of the rabbits from falling out. It didn’t take long to reach the pack and things were the same, if not worse. With a low growl he threw the rabbits into the pile of prey. Fell could not relate to his other pack members, for he hadn’t been visited by strange demons and he never heard voices like he heard others talk about. He felt almost out of it, as if they all knew something he didn’t and he was angry at himself for thinking like that. Looking around Fell noticed Dusk, the Alpha Female. Padding up to her he hoped to be of some help. “Is everything alright?” he asked, “Most of the pack are a bit edgy lately, I’ve noticed…” He stuttered slightly, he had never been good with words and he wondered if he sounded like a big idiot.

"Fell, everything is fine." She cleared her head of the image and it finally withdrew its hold on her. She sighed heavily and bit into the deer she had caught. She wondered if it would be a bit too self-centered for her to ask whether she was being a good leader. She knew that she was trying, but was she trying hard enough and what was this sinking feeling in her chest. "Hey, do you think I*m being a good alpha?" She asked quietly, lifting her head to stare at him with those blind purple orbs. She blinked, releasing her hold on the ground with her claws. She shuffled her paws in the dirt as if she was a naughty pup again. Her black fur ruffled in the light breeze as she waited for an answer...

Fell was a bit surprised by Dusk’s question. Was she doubting herself? But Dusk had always been a good Alpha. Fell looked thoughtful for a moment before replying, “Of course. Why do you ask?” He wondered if Dusk hadn’t been receiving strange visits from monsters.

"Oh, just.... Its nothing. Thanks Fell." Dusk smiled and raced off, fleeing into the forest, her tail streaming out behind her as she ran. As she raced throguh trees and underbrush, she realized something. Why was she being such a worry wart. Fell had told her that she was a good alpha, so why was she reacting badly. She slowed to a trot and then stopped all together as she reached the waterfall. She dipped her furry, black face into the watre and lapped up some. She quickly stepped back as if a flood was bound to happen any minute and sweep her away like it did her family. She stepped another few steps, her tail tucked in between her hind legs She inched away from the lapping water and when she was about 10 feet away, she started to shoot back to her pack. Why was she reacting to the water, didn't she want to join her family, didn't she want to die? ((Edit, fixed))

Fell watched Dusk go. Was it something he said? Should he follow? Maybe Dusk had just wanted to get away, just like he had. A moment of clarity would be good. After sitting there for a long moment, Fell finally stood up and headed for the pile of prey. He prodded at one of the rabbits he had caught and picked it up. He walked towards his usual spot in the middle of the clearing and sunk down onto the ground. Sniffing the rabbit, he began to gnaw halfheartedly. He wasn’t even that hungry so he wondered why he was eating. It took him quite a while to finish off the rabbit, for he was eating it quite slowly, only taking one bite every now and then. The cold breeze brought the scent of other wolves, though his packmates were nowhere to be seen. He *censored*umed they were all in their dens or, like Dusk, were out hunting or just minding their own business. He looked around suspiciously, i was unusual for the clearing to be so eerily silent.

Dealing with crying wolves was never one of Alcarié's favorite things, particularity females. It made him edgy and feel worthless, he never knew how to comfort them. Finally he sighed mentally and nosed her cheeky gently, murmuring incoherent things. Not just for her own comfort, but his as well. Things were getting stranger and darker, and he had no clue how to deal with them. Every one the pack would look to the shaman for answers and he had none, except that what ever these 'things' were they were powerful. I'm completely worthless at this position, I cant even protect my pack mates who look to me for guidance. Closing his eyes he decided to take this one step at a time, and the first thing was the take care of this she-wolf who was drenching his fur. "I know your scared, but it'll be alright." He whispered softly, almost like a adult to a pup. "Just be strong, and don't forget your not alone."

Cere looked up at Alcarie, her large brown eye wet from crying "I-Its just so hard sometimes... I mean no one wants me around because I turned down the opportunity to be alpha... I feel so useless..." She mangaged to choke out Come on keep it togeather girl...Its not your fault your bad with big responsibilitys... She thought taking a deep breath to calm her self " Do you ever feel like that, Alcarie?" She whispered.
