(('Tis okay, Hawky ^_^ We all make mistakes. I actually had a double account at one point, but I simply explained to a staffie that I was sorry and wouldn't do it again. She kindly banned my extra account and allowed me to keep this account ;D Say, I haven't seen you around the threads. Are you new to Rp'ing? And D'aww, Synpe is so adorable <3)) Haruki's amber eyes wearily waved over the surrounding walls. Captured. Stripped of freedom. And after he'd just regained it. But this was far greater than being a slave any day, and he knew that for a fact. With hesitation, he drifted to the far corner of the pen the 'dogs' had been kept in. He didn't really want to be adopted, so he found it best to retreat from sight. Out of sight and out of mind. At least he was in the midst of others like him. This fact relieved some of his worries. But nonetheless, his troubled mind had allowed him little rest, his tear- shaped eyes wide open for the majority of the night hours. And now he sat there, hardly able to keep his eyelids ajar. The hunger was another problem. They expected him to fend off starvation with dog food. And the wet kind, at that. No way was that slimy, nasty substance coming even close to his stomach. What ever happened to those big, succulent, medium- rare t-bones the dogs in the cartoons were given? His aching tummy hissed at him for the thought. On second thought, perhaps he'd be better off adopted. He mustered up the last of his withering strength, pacing himself to the best- seen part of the pen. Feeling slightly embarrassed for doing so, he gave his best puppy eyes, wrapping his human- like hands in the grating of the cage walls. Unlike some of the hybrids, he'd not inherited claws. He was actually grateful for the space he was given, his pen being larger than many of the others. He wanted to let out a bark, but didn't want to disturb the other hybrids that shared a not- so- homey home with him. He simply wagged his tail, displaying a false grin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Last week was your birthday, honey." Zara's father sifted a hand through her golden locks. "We wanted to get you a pet, but decided you should pick out your own." He handed her an amount of money that I would be more that glad to recieve. "But dad...." She started, not long before being interrupted. "Sweetie, how can I put this...." The man put a finger to his rounded chin, then scratching his silky black hair. "You need a guard pet. You remember what happened to your sister." A lone tear trickled down the rather petite teen's cheek. Little known fact was that her sister was kidnapped by unkown suspects, leaving her a lonely- only child. Her father, in a comforting attempt, wrapped his long, slender arms around her. When he released his loose hold, she backed up a step, nodding in agreement. "I'll get one." She showed a tiny smile, turning and heading for the door. She stepped outside, greeting by the gush of a stone fountain and the sweet breeze drifting off the cherry trees. It was truly a gorgeous property, adorned with exotic plants, statues, and a decently large pond. The pet store was but a couple blocks away on a peaceful suburb street. Even at this distance, the sounds of the bustling city could faintly be heard. The morning sun warmed the area, a refreshing atmoshpere envoloping Zara as she leisurely sauntered down the sidewalk. She arrived at her destination with mixed feelings, a bell chiming sweetly as she stepped through the entrance. Eyes wide with wonder, she took a gander at the sights before her. There was a vast selection of hybrids to choose from. Which one would she pick? Shyly, cautiously, she began to examine her choices, taking a stroll about the pet shop. She was upset by the expressions of some of the pets, seeing many sad faces. Perhaps they just didn't care for the morning hours? ((Can't wait any longer XD))

((YAY!)) Paige had her hack to one of the walls of her enclosure her long slender legs streached out before her. She was looking forward with a blank expresstion hardly blinking. She wasn't new to this place at all. She had been here for a couple months now but she still couldn't get used to the fact that she was to ba a pet. She was human too...or at least part human and that had to count for something such as freedom. She didn't have much of an opinon about wheather or not she wanted to be adopted so she kept her mind fairly open to both senarios. She blinked a couple of times before she brought her legs in to herself to sit up at the front of her cage. She was one of the pets that had a smaller place to live but she didn't mind much. She stuck her finger into the wet food in a stainless steel bowl that sat next to her and ate her food like that. She didn't like the taste but had gotten used to it after her time here. One elbow sat on her knee holding up her head. Her green eyes stared out into the worl beyond her cage longing to escape wheather it by adoption or break out. Kasey walked down the street his hands in his pockets to keep warm. He was bored to be quite frank. He passed by shopes and restarunts not interested in any of them. He was on his way to one store inpaticulare. He had heard about this "Pet" store where they sold mutated teens and he was interested in what the beasts looked like. He found his way to the store and walked in his shoes making a squeek against the lanolium floor everynow and again. He passed by cage after cage peering into them to see frightened, angrey, and blank expresstions looking back at him. The thought of what had happened to them was both frightening and intriging to him at the same time.

Kaz sat next to Skye, the only two in their pen. They were placed together not only because they were similar species but also because they were brother and sister. A sign hung on one of the pen walls, declaring that they were preferred to be adopted together. A plate of fresh salad sat in one corner and the two muched on it silently. Kaz glanced at his sister and whispered coarsely into her ear. "Look. There's a nice looking human. What about her?" He asked as a girl(Zara) walked into the store. Skye only stared hopefully at the human.

Maelen sat within his cage with a growl, ears pulled back as the tiger-boy started crawling around in what space he had, this being his form of pacing. He wanted out of here, and he wanted it now! His tail lashed back and forth as his sharp claws clicked agaimst the floor of his cage. What was the point of this, of turning them into freaks?!

Allen sighed, running his hand through his hair as he moved through his home, a soft frown on his face. His parents were insisting that he purchase a 'pet', and being the good son he was he had agreed. But now he had to decide what on earth he was going to do with the creature once he obtained it. Where was it going to stay, what was he supposed to feed it, and how was he going to care for it? He guessed he would just have to wait and see when the time came.

Shay ran her fingers through her tail. What a boring day. Just like every other day, of course. Did they ever hear of the word "fun" here? OW, knot! Stupid knot. I shall kill you, knot. After a moment with destroying her knot in her tail, she got bored. Grr. Why are knots in this world? They just cause has.sle. Then again, without knots, we couldn't tie our shoes and we'd be tripping everywhere. So knots are useful, too. That's interesting. Oh, yes, this is how most of Shay's day went by. Sitting. Thinking. Yup, that's her routine. WAIT - the food. That's part of it, too. Some days she won't eat it - ewwww, that stuff's crap - and others only a bit. Usually she isn't hungry, though. Shay's learned to last. Plus, without thinking about hunger, you don't really get hungry. Oops. Now she was hungry. Um... yeah. Not eating that today.. Sighing, Shay looked out to the people walking through the store. A blonde girl (Zara) and another kid (Kasey) were looking for a "pet". Blondie and Kid - yes, those shall be her names for them. Wonderful. Now that you know she has names for these people, you should also know she does this for everybody. It's a fun little tidbit that makes things enjoyable. Well, a little enjoyable, anyways. You get to know a lot of people when your life is in a pet store. Blondie seemed like a nice owner. Wouldn't it be nice if Blondie chose her? At the thought, Shay's ears perked up. But they soon loomed down. Her life wasn't meant to be this way! She shouldn't be a pet! It's not right! Kid, then again, didn't seem too bad either. He was OK - in the middle, you know? So was Blondie, in a way, too. Both were.... average. --- Cole gloomily thought about how he was walking to the Pet Store at this very moment. He didn't want a pet. He didn't even need a pet. Yet, his parents thought he did. Anyways, what did they do to make these "pets"? They looked mostly human. Yet they... weren't. There wasn't really a word to describe them, for they are not inhuman but not human either. Just a strange mix. When his parents said they'd get supplies, what supplies would they get? The standard pet food, pet bed, etc.? Or will they go extravagant as always? His parents were so controlling sometimes. Barely would you find them caring and loving. Their jobs were most of their lives - about 85% or 90%. But Cole? He was... the remaining portion. At least, that's how it seemed to him. Sometimes they cared. They weren't heartless monsters, y'know! Anyways, the Pet Store loomed before him. When did it get this tall? It never seemed... heh... this... tall before.. Shaking his head, Cole walked in and saw lots of pets lining the place. Now the question was 'Which one do I pick?

Kasey passed by acouple of cages with creatures who's tails were wagging furiously tounges lolled out and a broad smile on thier muzzles but that was only a few creatures the others looked bored, andgrey, or depressed. Some looked cute but others just looked like they had been sent through a blender before being taped back together by a three year old who was just trying to finish the project to get a peice of candy. He tryed not to think about how miserable their lives must be like stuck in cramped cage with wet slimy dog food to eat and only solid white walls to entertain themselves day after day, month after month. He continued passing cages seeing which one caught his eye but so far they all looked miserable or had forced smiles plasterd on their faces. Paig stoped eating once she was full and put her back against one of the walls connected to the opening of her cage. Her leggs were fully extended out infront of her and her booted feet her touching the other wall across from her. She was bored so she dicided to create her own form of entertainment. She began to tap her fingers on the floor and her toes tapped the wall to make a pleasant - or atleast to her it was pleasant - Music. She closed her eyes and continued tapping to the rythm of her own song quite content with herself at the moment. Her thick tail flicked back and forth with the beat of her heavy boots on the wall.

Allen let out a light sigh as he stepped into the pet store, eyes closed as he moved towards the cages. The blue orbs reopened a moment later as the dark-haired male moved along the rows. Which one would he choose? A cute one, ir one that was more...fierce? He wadn't sure...maybe he'd know when he found it... Well, this was turning out to be more complicated than he thought.

Kella looked up at her tail, her eyes squinting at it angrily. It wasn't that she was mad that she had a tail, it was a playfull mad. Kella's lips twitched up into a smile, well, a smirk is more like it. She, then, growled lightly and then grabbed it with both hands, making a wierd human, tail, paw sandwich. Then, the claws came out. Kella gave off a slight cry of pain, not too loud though, and let go of her tail. She then swatted at it.
A moment later, the girl heard footprints. But, not the usual half-human, half animal footsteps. These were real-life human steps. Kella instantly pressed her white face upon the bars of her cage, not miding the cold she felt. She just wanted to see the next 'buyers' of the store.
A few people seemed to walk by, and Kella was interested in a few. Well, that's an understatement. Kella was interested in them all. Her life as a human seemed to fail, which is why she was currently a 'pet', not that the girl minded. The whole idea that she would be a pet to someone else intruiged her.
How should I act? Should I smile, or growl? Will they like me? Will I like them? Will I like my new home? Not that I much like this cage.... But it could be worse! Kella's mind raced with thoughts. They went from curious, to sad, to mad, to happy. Her thoughts always ended up being happy. That was just the way she was.
Then, a sound caught her attention. Nearing footsteps. Kella quickly wiped the smile off her face and looked up through the bars. She had no emotion but curiousity on her face. That was her favorite look when it came to humans, or, that used to be her favorite face when she was a human. All she could do now was hope.
~
"Mommy," A voice peirced the silence. The guy who spoke this word walked up to a rather young adult and hugged her.
"Yes, Shawn?" The 'mom' replied, a smile tugging at her lips. "What do you need?" She asked, looking down at the lunch she was preparing. Sandwiches again. Even though the woman was a 'Trophy Wife', she had no senses for good cooking.
"You know those new pets...?" Shawn asked, grabbing a half a sandwich and plopping down on the bar stool in front of his mom. "Well, I was wondering if I could have money to get one!" "Shawn... The last pet you had died within a week! Why should I think you are responsible for a new pet?" The woman's words were critisizing, but her tone was sweet as always.
"But Mom! I was seven and it was a hampster!" Shawn whined, sticking out his bottom lip. That usually worked when it came to this lady. Then, an instant later, Shawn was grinning. He got the accepting sigh from his mother and hugged her as she pulled her wallet out. "Oh, I love you mummy!" He shouted as he grabbed the money, pulling her into a tight hug before running out the door.
It wasn't 15 minutes later, Shawn entered the Pet Shop. The little 'dingle' of the bell made him smile. He looked over each cage, smiling at each of them. Occasionally he would bend down, seeing if he liked one or another. Then, he realized, he wanted a pet that liked him. It would be better if the pet liked him first. That's how it always was for the boy.

Towards the back of the store, in a corner all alone, there sat a small cage. The cage, with its bars made of thin steel alloy squished in so close together one could barely get a hand through, was small, so small in fact that it was only around four feet square across and four feet high. On its hard metal bottom there was strewn a bed of what looked very much like wood shavings and on top of that, in the corner of the little corner cage, there sat a boy. His boney shoulders were hunched, making him look even tinier than he already was, for this boy, though according to the sign plastered unceremoniously with duct-tape to the wall beside his prison was in his early teens, looked very much like a child. He sat with his back to the wall and head down, sharp eyes focused on what little he could see of this wretched place. His arms and legs were unnaturally hairy, covered in grayish-black fur, nearly the color of his jet black head. He had been stripped of all but the most needed clothing, mostly to humiliate him he guessed, but was told it was to show off his animalistic qualities. His ragged ears twitched as the sounds of a jingle bell ringing caught his attention. More people were coming! He quickly scrambled foward, kicking up his bedding, as it was called, with his enormous clawed hands and feet and curled his gnarled fingers eagerly around the bars that held him there. Perhaps today would be the day, oh the joyous day, when he would finally be free of this torment. But, alas...He was in the back, alone and out of sight. How would anyone ever find him there? The little bell atop the inward swinging door jingled happily as yet another young adult, looking by her stature and self confidence to be at least in her early twenties, stepped blithely onto the little bone shaped welcome mat and glanced around, her grey-green eyes surveying the place with a critical, yet curious air. She was dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans and brown high-heels that seemed to only further exagerate her already appart vertical advantage. Her shirt was a creamy golden baige, with a large imprint of a stylized butterfly across her full chest. It was there, on the little doggy-bone mat, that she stopped, pausing to examine her surroundings and get a better feel of the place. It did not seem to be very nice place, and yet not a very bad place either. The walls were lined with cages, both big and small, nearly all holding some type of what appeared to be...Humans?? She had heard something about this on the news, something about a new breed of pet, something to replace the nearly extinct animal population, but she had never truly expected...Something like this! Without much further hesitation, the pale golden haired lass marched her way across the hard floor, brown designer heels clacking against it emphatically with every determined step. She would see what those crazy people had done. This was going tobe interesting, and quite possibly enlightening. She had wanted a friend for quite some time now, but no one ever really seemed to understand her. Perhaps these strange human animal half-breeds would find her easier to get along with.

Paige herd a series of ringing bells from the front of the store as more and more potential buyers steoed into the place. Paige opened her eyes and stoped creating her 'music' and whent to the front of her cage again. She was in kneel/sit position like a parent would do to a kid to get to eye level with them. Her hands clasped the cold bars of the cage and peered outside at the people walking past cage after cage with the same exprestion as they passed over the ones they didn't think would be 'Their type'. She shifted into a sit again this time her back against the wall oposite the opening of her enclosure her boots pressing slightly against the door. If they want me then their gonna have to get used to the fact that I'm not a begging kind of person, and what better time to start than before we meet. Paige told herself her arms in her lap and eyes looking forward but not with a blank stare this time. Her eyes looked around the environment outside the cage. All she could see were cages on the other side of the store hidden behind a round table in the middle of the store with a display of treats supposiblymade just for this half human half animal hybrids but Paige could tell they were just the same thing people used to feed their dogs and cats. Paige'sredish brown tail flicked calmly beside her. Kasey crouched down in front of a cage in the back. It was a small cage, a very small cage that held a small scranny little boy. The kid was hairy to say the least and he looked kind of scared and pleading almost. "Hey" Kasey said his voice calm trying not to intimidate the creature inside the cage. He seemed to be part rat from what Kasey could tell. He had a long dark seemingly hairless tail behind him and had sharp claws that were grasping at the bars to it's cage. The creature seemed like it would be a fun one to have around and looked like it needed some careing for. All Kasey needed to know was if it thought Kasey was the right one to take it home.Kasey read the tag on the cage. "So your name is Snype?" Kasey said more of a statement than a question. "Cool" a smile spread on his face admiring the boys name.

The boy, now sitting fully erect with his hairy back arched and black eyes snapping, pulled away, surprised, not by the fact that a regular human was there, (He had heard him perfectly) but at the fact that he had stopped. No one ever stopped at his cage, at least not for very long, and certainly never to talk to him. He stared, greasy black hair falling in his eyes and fuzzy ears twisting backward, making him look very much like a horned monster. Snype. Yeah, that was his name. The name those other kids in the prison had given him. At first, he had liked it. It made him feel special. the great snipe, after all, was the famed monster that could never be found, and never be caught. It fit him well. But then, the scientists came, pulled him out of that awful place and put him in a worse one, one filled with the kind of things you only see in a gross horror movie. It was there that he had forgotten his real name, and been given the one that stuck. Snype. Snype let out a strained cry, opening his mouth to reveal a set of large yellowed insicors and long pink tongue. His breath smelled terrible, having obviously not brushed his teeth in weeks, if not months. The cry, though barely audible, sounded like not much more than a squeak. Coughing angrily, the boy put a gnarled boney hand to his throat and tried again, but it was no use. He could not speak. -C'mon, man! Get me outta' here!- He wanted to scream. He wanted to wrench at the bars, knock the wretched cage over, reek all forms of havok, anything to get him out! He was a human being! Jail, he could understand, but this? Instead he held perfectlly still, eyes wide and pleading. Just keep up the act. Act cute. Act cute and he'll bust you outta' this joint. That was what he kept telling himself.

"My God! Why did I ever agree to this?" Kohaku sighed. Out of all the things that had to of been in style. Pets? He put a hand to his forehead. He'd been through smoking, mohawks, reptiles, and even liquor. But pets? He repeated over in his mind over and over again. Kohaku wasn't really into any animal, let alone a hybrid! "Agh!" He snapped. He grited his teeth. "Might as well get this over with. They won't last for long. I'll get rid of it as soon as they are," He thought outloud, opening the door and awkwardly walking in with his eyes shut closed. He opened them to see some sort of petstore. Some hybrids were begging at there cages, walking around, and some were being stupid; such as hiding in the corner of their cell. He wanted something easy to take care of, such as a cat-hybrid. Or mabye a Hampster. He rubbed his hands together and looked for something small. He'd lock it up in his closet later, and only let it out when needed to. --- Calyx paced around in her cell. well, most of it anyway. If she stretched out, she's touch the sides. Though she was fortunate for having a good sized cage. Most hybrids' cells were tiny. Her ears were slicked back on her head, her tail sticking right now. A casual 'leave me alone of I will kill you' position. This young hybrid had no plans of being 'adopted', as they called it. She called it a death sentence. she growled at everyone who came by. She'd rather die than be some pet. She leaned down and scratched her sandy ears with her hand.

Mist ran her long slender fingers through her pale golden hair as she bent down to look at the strange selection this shop had to offer. She had no idea of what sort of 'pet' in particular she had in mind, as she had never owned one. They had always been near exstinction as far as she knew. She was just bored, and a bit interested as to what it would be like to have, no not only have, but own a friend. The thought was disturbing, yet...tempting. Her dull green eyes swept slowly and meticulously over all of the many hybrid creatures. There were a few cats, dogs, some things with horns in a cage together. They all looked so pitiful. She wondered briefly if any of them could talk. After all, they looked human enough. Did their vocal chords work? But they all seemed silent, bored, or frightened, or worse yet, angry. Perhaps it was the cages. Or all the strange people? Cautiously, though with a determined air, she stepped up to one of the cages. In it, was a small, well relatively small compared to most of them, light haired boy with large amber eyes. He looked a bit timid, but friendly enough. "Hello, there." She said plainly, hoping to get his attention without seeming too curious. OOC: She's at Haruki's cage btw. No promise of adoption, but still. He's the first one she came to
