Haruki, unsure at first, was reluctant to connect his hand to her own.  He didn't hold a grip for long, but showed an angelic smile.  "Mist."  He tested the name.  It was a pretty name.  "I'm Haruki.  But you may call me Haru."  It'd been a while since he'd let anyone call him by his nickname.  Even if she was just a passerby in a pet store.  He'd nearly forgotten that he was locked up in a cage, no longer a full human, slowly starving to death.  He supposed it didn't much matter anymore.  Unable to stand on his quickly tiring legs, he fell to his knees, still wearing that same smile.

"I'm sorry.  A little weak is all."  He was used to it anyway.  He nearly felt normal now, as if this was just the way things were supposed to be, and always would be.  Half expecting her to continue on with her day, the dog boy flattened his ears, sighing, his eyes displaying a somber glint.

Zara retreated back a few steps, growing cautious of this creature.  He seemed a little aggressive, and perhaps a bit insane.  But how would she feel if she were in his situation?  She'd probably be upset, too.

She began to step in the other direction, only to slow to a dead halt.  She narrowed her honey colored eyes in an uneasy ex
pression.  He seemed lonely.  Nobody should have to be lonely.  Taking her good old time, she paced her way back to the tiger's cage.  At least he wasn't much of a danger behing those thick bars.  The petite young teen sat a couple feet away from his prison, staring at the boy with interest.

"Umm...."  She twiddled her thumbs nervously.  "So....  What's it like being part tiger?"  Perfect question, Zara.  She scratched anxiously at her golden locks.  What a bad question choice.  It was like asking a criminal what it was like to murder someone.

The rat boy watched the other kid leave out of the corner of his eyes, still concentrating on getting his own battle of water open with his teeth. When he finally got the cap off, he spit it spitefully at the worker that had thrown it so rudely at him with a small snicker. That'd show im'. 

He sipped at the drink luxuriously, trying out his voice at intervals, but could not get much out. When the other boy came back, he looked up, opening his mouth to try and say something but was met with a collar to his face as it was shoved roughly over his greasy head. Hey! What was this guy doin'?? "Ak!" He choked as the leather rubbed against his sore neck. Go home? Wait, was he being...adopted?

Snype pulled at the thing with both his hands, going immediately for the clasp, but could not get it off. They had human-proofed the dreadful things! At any rate, he would try to escape again. There was no way he would go to be a slave in some rich kid's house! 

Mist nodded courteously at the name she was given and shook his hand. He did have hands, not claws like many of the other pets in the store. "It's nice to meet you, Haru." She said with a small smile. She thought for a moment that she could get to like this one. He seemed so human. 

But when he let go of her hand and fell to his knees, she gasped with alarm and backed away. what on earth? was he sick? She couldn't buy him if he was sick. She had no idea how to take care of an invalid. Oh, no this wouldn't do at all. "Goodness!" She breathed, a hand going to her mouth indignantly. The poor thing.  

Paige hummed to song she hadn't quite forgoten the tune too yet still lookng to the world beyond her cage. She dicided to close her eyes again thinking that no one else was in the store to pay any attention to her besides her humming. She wasn't terrible at humming but she wasn't rock star matierial by any means and she knew that but she liked humming and there was nothing any one could do to stop her from doing it. She remembered one of the workers had kicked her into her cage when she firsts got here because she was humming on the way here. Apparently he didn't like songs but he got a what he disierved when she grabed onto his pant leg and pulled his heel into the cage and bit down into his leg biteing through the mans pants and part of his shoe. She could remember loud and clear the mans screams of agoinny and she couldn't help but smirk as she continued to hum to herself.

"Come on and I'll get you some real food" Kasey said walking out of the store and twords his car. He put the supplies into the back of the truck and helped Snype into the back part of the cab. He went around to the drivers side and got in. He turned around to Snype, "My place isn't far from here so you wont be in here long don't worrie. He buckled up his seat belt and turned on the engin. He oulled out of the parking lot and began to drive home.

Shawn paused to listen to the animal ramble, and of course, he only listened to the very last sentence. He tapped his fingers on the shelf that he was leaning on. "Darlin', that's why I'm getting this lovely assistant to put it on you!" Shawn chuckled to himself. Though, a little pang of pity snuck itself into his brain. -Was this animal considering herself as a slave to him?- Well, by 'this animal', he meant all the ones in there. Certainly not Calyx, as she had a mind of her own.

"Oh, fine. But you have to wear tags of some sort," Shawn finally gave in. "You can wear it in a bracelet, dogchains, necklace -not collar-, or anywhere else you might want it." Shawn mummbled something unaudible under his breath, then made a noise that reminds me of a man-giggle. So, Shawn indeed man-giggled at his own joke.

Calyx glared at the human. After all the long noghts of no sleep, scaring children who came to her cage, and refusing to eat....all for nothing. She dug her nails into the floor, leaving small marks. "I'll bite him to!" She snarled. Her tail was at maximum fluff-ness, and it seemed to take up all the room in the cage. All for nothing, she repeated to herself.

She curled up in a small ball, ears flat. She mumbled illedgible words. "I am no animal, so I am in no need of tags!" She snapped.

Calyx glared at the human. After all the long noghts of no sleep, scaring children who came to her cage, and refusing to eat....all for nothing. She dug her nails into the floor, leaving small marks. "I'll bite him to!" She snarled. Her tail was at maximum fluff-ness, and it seemed to take up all the room in the cage. All for nothing, she repeated to herself.

Snype resisted at first, despising the thought of wearing a collar, and of being someone's pet. Nobody owned him. He wanted to be free! But then seeing it was no use he scrambled after the red-haired human, using all four limbs to catch up, because his sore neck refused to let him hold back. Couldn't the guy tell he was hurt? He let out a few squeaks and growls, all very scratchy and painful sounding. Why was he dragging him along like this??

Everyone, all the other hybrids that is, stared in surprise and indignation as the little trouble maker was walked out of the store. He was the worst behaved of them all. A thief, a cheat, and a liar! Why was he being adopted and busted out of this horrible place and not them?? It just did not seem fair.

Snype, now getting rather used to the idea, and excited about leaving, gave them all a proud sarcastic grin that said -Ha! Look who's laughin' now.- He was keeping up quite nicely, so he stood erect and walked beside his new 'owner' as they exited the shop. All of them knew he would try to escape the minute he had the chance, and they were all terribly jealous of him. 

When safely up inside the cab of the truck, the scawny rodent hybrid coughed and clawed pitifully at his collar. As long as the leash wasn't being pulled at, it did not really hurt, but he thought that perhaps he might be able to persuade his new 'friend' to take it off if he acted cute enough. He rasped, managing one small word. "Off..."

The car started right as he did however, its engine cutting him off and making his damaged voice inaudible. Having not put his seat belt on, he fell to the side, hitting his head and nearly sliding to the floor. What kind of maniac was this kid?? 

Kasey soon pulled into the driveway of his house. It wasn't quite a mansion it was more of a Mcmansion. It was a bit smaller than a mansion and didn't have all that much land attached to it. He parked the car and pulled the key out of the key place thing(fail XD) and got out of the car. He opened the door for Snype and got a hold of the laesh and collected the other supplies and started walking into the house.

He set the things by the door and walked up to his mom. He huged her. "This is Snype" He said. His mother had a slightly frightened look on her face but forced a smile. "Are you sure it doesn't have rabies?" she asked a little uncertain although she knew Kasey wouldn't answer the question. "Well...go take him out into the back yard because thats where he will sleep and he can only come inside if he needs to. "Ok mom" Kasey said grabbing the things again and taking Snype out side. "And you should give him a bath too" his mom saide as he closed the glass door behind him.

Kasey set down the stuff in a shady area by a big tree in their semi big back yard. It would be sutible for a couple of dogs to run around and play in and in fact Kasey was planing on getting a dog hybrid but Oh well. He got a tub and filled it with water. He got some soap and made sure ti was Ok if Snype for some reason dicided to eat it. "Ok time to clean you up. Can you do that by yourself?" He asked unsure what to do.

Paige was getting bored of humming again so she began to eat the disgusting food in her cage just to amuse herself. She stuff was slimmy beyond belief but there was nothing else to do. She watched things go on outside her cage but nothing fun was happening out their either. She sighed and slumed over her hand proping up her face as it was standing on her knee. "Man this place is boring" She said to herself.

Snype looked around, going wide eyes as the entered what looked like a rather ritzy neighborhood, full of houses the size of a city block. Okay, not really that big, but to kid that had grown up on the bad side of town, it looked that way. The streets were all newly paved, and the lawns all neatly mowed. The houses were perfect. There were children playing in the street. He had only heard about places like this, never actually seen it. 

An evil grin began to creep up his spotted face and his nose began to twitch. He could make a killing out of this place. He bet the red-head beside him had enough for him to hock and live off of for the next twenty years. Maybe he should stick around...Play the nice little doggy boy, even though he was a rat. Who knew. Maybe this was like being adopted into foster care. Maybe he would get put back in some cage. This guy looked like he could afford better.

 When they arrived however, his ears went back and he froze in his seat. Already? Now he was nervous. Why was he nervous? Maybe it was from being trapped in a cage for so long, maybe it was the art side of him, but the though of entering a new place, with new smells, and new sounds suddenly frightened him. He stared up at the big house, feeling a sudden yank on his leash as the door on his side opened. The boy jumped out, landing on all fours, but quickly standing. Grabbing the leash in his  own hands, he pulled at, keeping it from scratching at his sensitive neck.

When the boy hugged his mother, Snype was temped, for his mischievous little min would not be still, to go up and hug her as well, for standing he was below five foot. A curse, some might say, but he found it perfect for getting at the more female parts of the body. With a small chuckle, he gave her a smile, and contented himself with waving instead.

Now forced out into the back yard for a bath, Snype rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. There was no way he'd be able to sleep out here. He wasn't an animal! Okay, so he was, but he was human too! All hopes of being treated like family temporarily dashed, he swiped the bar of soap from the kid and sniffed at it cautiously. -Duh!- he wanted to say, but his voice still refused to work, so he merely gave him a withering look and nodded.  

"Ok then I'm gonna get your...room I guess I should call it, Ready." He felf same letting go of the leash in the yard becuase there was no where for Snype to go. No porches the hide under, the fence was too tall to jump over and the wood had a slipery finish on it so it's wasn't climbing material. Kasey took the stuff and started setting up Snypes bed. It was a dog bed but it wasn't bad.

He set it out in the large enclosure him and his father had built before Kasey had left to go buy his pet. It was maybe a little less than a fourth of the yard so Kasey though Snype would like haveing a bigger place to be in while Kasey was out and didn't take him with him. It had multiple wooden platforms and had a house kind of in the corner where Kasey put the bed.There were plenty of blanckets in the little house just in case Snype got cold. He had put his old tire swing in the area thinking that maybe the creature would like it but if not her could take it out.

"Those are both indeed true statements."  he managed to say back.  They were getting along well.  But what to say next?  'Hi, I'm going to adopt you now, let's go'?  No! That wasn't going to go very well.  So what?  Rummaging around through his brain for more options, he finally found one.  But he wasn't sure if it was the best choice.

"Kella, do you want to leave this place?"
