Dagger ran through the forest, weaving between trees, tears stung her eyes. They would neverk now her pain. Never. Her fur wipped in the wind, and she almost let out a howl. Turn back. His voice growled in her head. Him. Ryu. Dead. What kind of Alphess didnt have a mate? The pack needs you Dagger. Go back. She skidded to a halt, looking back toward where the pack would be. She heard their pawsteps after her. She whined, "why should I go back? Wihtout you, I have nobody. They all see me as the demon I was born as." Her red eyes glowed and her odd patterned fur bristled slightly, "you were the only one to see past it." But Ryu's voice was gone. Her love. Her mate. Her partner. Now, Dagger was alone. The Alphess with no mate. The pack emerged from the undergrowth, their eyes were all mixed emotions. Their Demon Alphess, should they follow her even after the Alpha was dead? Dagger held her head high, "Ryu may be gone, but that doesnt mean we should change. Swiftpack will stay strong with me as leader!" A victorious howl ripped from her chest. It masked her pain.

PLOT:

it has been one full year since Ryu's death, and Dagger is still alphess. She believes she is finally recovered from the loss of her mate, and as she sees the rest of the pack's females with pups, it makes her realise what she wants most, a family to call her own.
