Hearing the final bell Cas jumped out of his seat, almost running to his locker where his backpack was jammed. Grabbing it roughly he raced out of the building, starting his car and wheeling it out front. She might have her own car but the least he could do was give her a ride. Rolling down the window he tossed his keys in his hand rythamicly nearvously waiting to she face emerge from the swarm of kids leaking out of the school.

(:3 couldn't get on yesterday, sorry) Despite herself, Lydia was eager to leave the cla.ss. She was one of the first ones out of the door, not even wasting time to visit her locker since she never really used it anyways. She walked out the front doors, scanning the crowd of faces for Cas's. she was surprised when she found it sitting in his car. She smiled, waving and wading through the ocean of people to get to him.

A smile lit his face as he saw Lydia move through the crowd. Man that girl had grace, weaving and moving so quickly she was almost through before he was able to lean over and pop open the door for her. "Is it ok with you if we go to the shop first? We don't have to stay if you don't want to but I have to open it."

Starting up the car he pulled out of the school parking lot juggling his keys nervousely. What if she didn't like the shop? That place meant everything to him...Parking he slid his legs out of the car, hauling the rest of himself up after them. Moving around to the other side of the car he opened the door for her before sliding the key into the lock.

"This one here." he said stepping out and walking over to a store with a banner labling it 'The Dump'. "I made this place with my own money, butilt it from the ground. Its sorta like a dump when you think of it." he said, sliding the key in and pushing open the door. "We got everything here. Pets, food, junk! Whatever you want." |

As Lydia walked through the doors to the shop, her heart leapt in joy. The store was true to its name, it was a dump for everything possible, but that made it a place of endless variation you couldn't find anywhere else. her eyes glittered and she eagerly dug into her bag, pulling out a mini skecthbook and looking around. she looked over her shoulder at Cas, ecstacy obvious in her ex

Cas practically glowed with pride as he slid the key back into his pocket. The tiny bell on the door tinkled as he shut it behind them. "Here, I have some stuff I think you'd like." he said walking over to a sturdy wooden barrel filled to the brim with random objects. Thinking for a moment he stopped before plunging his hand in. He mumbled to himself as he searched. "Somewhere around here...was here this morning.....AAAHHHH!" he triumphantly pulled out a small gaudy sketch pad. The paper was fine and the designs on the front danced like smoke off a candle. "Here, this is for you."

Lydia dropped her mini sketchbook on the ground, so overcome was she by his gift. Her eyes glittered and she stepped forward to hug him. "Nobody has ever given me a gift like this before, I love it! Thank you Cas!"

Cas froze in suprise as Lydia hugged him before relaxing and sliding his arms back around her. Holding her close he could feel her warmpth and be surrounded by a new smell he couldn't place. Lydia. Lydia regained herself, realising what she had just done. Blushing, she released her grip around him, muttering, "Oh, sorry about that. I. uhh, got a bit excited for a minute..." This was embara.ssing. she hated it when she flipped out like that. It didn't happen very often but she was always made fun of afterwards. Would it be the same this time? Would Cas laugh at her? She tried to tell herself that he wouldn't, but, then again, she had told herself that all the other times too. Her blush deepened, turning her face a bright tint of red.

Smiling warmly Cas grabbed her hand, leading her to the back of the store. He loved how her face flushed after being so close, it was just so....Lydia! "Here, I hope you don't mind but I need your help to watch the store for a while until help comes. Then maybe we can go for something to eat." he said, flipping open his phone to call his friend Tom. "Hey, yeah, Tom. Can you come watch the store for a few hours.....Yes I'm going to pay you minimum, I'm not made of money!" he laughed "Get your butt over her soon." Lydia stuck her tongue out at Cas after hearing his comment on the phone. She plopped herself onto a random stool sitting in the middle of the room and looked at the sketchbook Cas had given her. she traced her finger over the unique design on the front. She itched to draw in it. As Cas continued ot talk on the phone, she took note of his unfocused ex
pression. Without looking down, she retrived a pencil from her bag, flipped the sketchbook open and drew. As was her habit, she lightly bit the corner of her lip. A few second later and she was gone, rapidly copying a rough outline of Cas's face onto the good quality paper. Once done, she held it in front of her. She owuld have to go back and erase some, and add shading, of course, but she had gotten it just right, especially his eyes, though they looked better in real life. For some reason, she blushed as she looked at it, glancing up at Cas to see if he was coming or not. showing him the picture would be too embara.ssing, she would need to hide it quickly.

Hanging up the phone Cas saw Lydia looking at him quizzically. She had drawn something in the sketchbook already and he was flushed with excitement that she had liked his gift. Moving into the darkened room the first thing he did was to flick on the blindingly dim ceiling lights on warehouse like back room. There were shelves and shelves of junk as far back as the eye could see, and he knew it all like the back of his hand. ((fail post, cant type much gtg!)) |
