"Alright then," Willowshine narrowed her eyes reluctantly, while Eaglestar's whiskers twitched as he fought back a smile. She swept out of the den, calling to Snowbird. Snowbird let out a faint mew as she quickly polished off the small vole she was sharing with Viperfang. Viperfang hobbled after her, his eyes bright because he was expecting to go into the forest. Willowshine sighed and allowed Viperfang to come as well, wrapping her tail around his shoulders worriedly. His leg had been getting better, little by little, because Snowbird and Willowshine often took him out for exercise. Willowshine muttered something about needing more dock and mallow, and set off immediately, drawing her tail off of Viperfang's broad shoulders. |

Blackstream hated being sick, or injured. No patrols, have to eat or have reeking herbs on youir pelt 24/7 until you were better. The medicine cat never let you go outside, or go and do things. It wasn't that great, but atleast we had a medicine cat now. Blackstream thought. She glanced at Eaglestar, still here. "I had something to tell you." she meowed. "It's about how small our clan was." She felt Whitetail staring at her, and probably listening. Blackstream flicked her tail, and Whitetail darted off. "We have barely over 12 cats in our clan." she went on. "No apprentices to train. There could be a rival clan in this forest." she meowed. "If we ever got in battle---" she paused. "We don't have a very good chance." she avoided saying the words. "Our clan will die in battle." because she sensed Eaglestar knew what she meant.

Eaglestar narrowed his eyes and considered her words. "Yes, I suppose so. Your words have truth. But how will we get new warriors just in the bl
ink of an eye? We can't just sit around like fools and complain about problems in our Clan. We should fix them. However, the number of warriors is not controlled by me, but by how many kits are born. If you want more warriors, I suggest you find a way to have kits be born in the Clan, although that would mean forcing it upon she-cats, many of whom do not even have a mate. You have a very valid point, but what can we do about it other than pray to Starclan?"

Blackstream meowed calmly, "I will not force anyone to do anything. There is no other way to have kits then the way they are born." She looked at the thorn barrier briefly. The only other way we could get kits is kidnap kittypet's kits. But even Thrushsoar wouldn't go there.

Eaglestar narrowed his eyes. "I think I know what you're thinking of, my friend." He sighed. "I just hope we won't have to resort to that." Blinking gently at Blackstream, Eaglestar mewed in his deep, powerful voice, "Maybe we should try recruiting loners. Fireshadow lost his Clan, and already has hunting and fighting skills. He might be a promising start. What do you think?" |

Blackstream held her tounge until she trusted herself to not hiss in disgust. "I don't know. He was a clan cat, so he should already have warrior training." she ventured. "Maybe his former clan had tricks to hunting and battle he could show us." I have to look at the good things, not the fact that he's a lazy old grump. "But can we trust him? There's alot of good things about him. But whether he's going to show loyalty or not."

[[DON'T QUIT. I'll sum it all up for you. Thrushsoar is dead, Blackstream is deputy. Redleaf is also dead, died while fighting Thrushsoar's sprit recruits. That's all over now though. Blackstream and Eaglestar are talking about the lack of kits and warriors. Eaglestar was wondering if Fireshadow should join the clan. D8]]

Eaglestar glanced at the sky. NYANCAT. HOMGLOLWUT?! In donut form! Haaaaaaa.
Eaglestar flicked his tail and glanced at Blackstream. "I want you and Willowshine to go and look for him. Try to recruit him. What you say to him is up to you. If Fireshadow doesn't trust you, he'll probably trust a medicine cat." Eaglestar paused and narrowed his eyes. "That's an order, Blackstream. I wouldn't trust such a delicate task with anyone but deputy. After all, it takes a clever tongue to convince a former member of an enemy Clan to join a different Clan. Fireshadow might feel spiteful toward Stoneclan because we survived and his Clan didn't." His gaze softened as he stared with respect at his trusted deputy. "Before you go, get something to eat if you haven't already, and take a short nap. Tell Willowshine to do the same." He dismissed Blackstream and flicked a paw over his ear, washing away dirt that had clumped around his forehead.
