Willowshine glanced at Fireshadow, her eyes cold and calculating. She inclined her head slightly in acknowledgement and grasped the vole strongly in her slender jaws. She sprang away, the bushes rustling softly as she passed through them.

"Viperfang, eat this," Willowshine nudged the vole toward the injured cat.
"No," Viperfang replied testily. "Give it to the queens and elders. I don't need it."
"Aspenfur and Icestorm are already hunting for the queens and elders. Some apprentices are out as well. The entire Clan is dedicating their efforts to hunting for the Clan. Don't worry. Now eat the vole!" Willowshine's soft voice was abrupt and commanding.

Viperfang grimaced and gulped down the vole hungrily, savoring the taste. He hadn't had prey since the previous sunhigh, and he was desperately starving. The vole only took the edge off of his roaring hunger, but at least it helped. He dipped his head in thanks to Willowshine.

[[Fireshadow's like a loner, because Rainclan is like, gone. Kittypets have gone back to their homes, atleast their spirits have. o-o]]

Fireshadow crept under a yew bush and curled up. The branches prodded him, but he didn't care. He was to tired to even worry about foxes and badgers. Beginning to snore, he fell asleep.

((I dunno what to post. xD PREPARE FOR A FAIL. owo))

Eaglestar let out a low hiss. He bent over the cold, dirty body of Redleaf, his warrior. All the other cats gathered around him, washing Redtail's body so that he looked presentable for Starclan and his journey to the stars. Once Redtail's pelt was clean and smooth like it had been when he was still alive, some elders and queens gathered lavender and sprigs of juniper. They laid it on his body, making his corpse smell like flowers and berries. Personally, Eaglestar despised this part of the ceremony. He wanted Redleaf to smell like his normal self, like how he was when he was alive, not like the fake, clogging scent of plants and the thinly concealed scent of dark death.

[[Lol pretty air freshener cat. xD]]

Whitetail touched noses with Redleaf's body, before sitting back up. She glanced over at the smushed herbs on Redleaf's fur, covering the tiny spots of dried blood that wasn't washed off. "Redleaf." she mumbled. He died for Stoneclan, that's what matters. The thought struck her. Did he die for the clan, or was it something that wasn't supposed to happen? She shook her head at the forming thoughts and and waited for the vigil to begin.

Fireshadow slept silently as the snow bunched up against his fur. As the snow melted, he became cold. Standing up and ducking under the branches and thorns, he shook himself off and wandered into the snow, following the faint scent of Stoneclan warriors.

[[Should we time skip into mid Newleaf?]]

((YUSH. I hate leaf-bare. xDD))

Eaglestar let out a faint yowl, still mourning about Redleaf. He saw Snowbird, still bearing scars from the fight, and Viperfang. Viperfang had never actually healed. He was still alive and well, but his left hind leg was so useless and mangled he would never be a warrior again. He occasionally helped out Willowshine with Snowbird. Snowbird proved to be an excellent friend to Viperfang. After Viperfang's injury, the now retired warrior seemed to be humbler, calmer than before. He no longer was the ambitious, battle-ready, aggresive, uncautious young warrior Eaglestar once knew.

Blackstream shook out the burrs in her fur after a short nap. The fresh kill pile was running low, and there were lots of voles and mice out in the forest. It wouldn't hurt for a hunt. The hunting patrol has already left with Whitetail and the other warriors. Maybe I should go hunting alone? Blackstream quickly groomed herself, taking a quick glance at Viperfang. He was such a powerful warrior, until the big battle; and now he's unable to continue his warrior duties. She felt the longing to move her legs again, so without a second thought, she slowly walked to the thorn barrier, and went off to hunt.

The forest was stocked with mice and juicy voles, maybe even a thrush or two. Whitetail hopped along, eager to catch something after letting Liontooth get the last mouse she had spotted. "Let's split up." a cat meowed. Whitetail darted off, hearing a chirp of a bird. Thrush! Instinctively, she crouched low to the ground stalking the bird, waiting for it's eyes to move to something else. Now! She launched, and landed clumsily on her paws, but she had the thrush in her jaws, still struggling. Giving a quick bite, she sent her thanks to Starclan before dropping it on the ground. Redleaf would had loved to eat this. The bushes rustled infront of her, as a orange tabby cat emerged. Whitetail hissed. "Fireshadow! What are you doing on Stoneclan territory?" Fireshadow flattened his ears. "Sorry!" he mumbled. Whitetail retorted, "You've been here all along haven't you, taking any prey that you please!" The rest of the patrol had caughten up to Whitetail as they all hissed, "Intruder!" Fireshadow took a pawstep back, but the patrol grabbed him by the scruff, dragging him along. "Take him to Eaglestar!" one of the warriors meowed. Whitetail groaned as she picked up the thrush and followed the patrol back to camp.

Willowshine was out gathering herbs and Snowbird was with her. Snowbird had scented a wood thrush, and her mouth began to water. With a flicker of amusement, Willowshine flicked her tail, signaling that she could finish harvesting the watermint and that Snowbird could go hunt.

Snowbird let out a quiet mew of excitement, her faint pawsteps barely making any vibrations or noise on the ground. Her paws barely brushing the forest floor, Snowbird leapt through the air and squarely landed on the large and fat wood thrush, killing it quickly. They weren't on a hunting patrol, so Snowbird and Willowshine could share the freshkill.

Willow took a few dainty bites, her fox-like face calm and content. Snowbird's delicate, triangular face was slim and sleek, her body agile and supple. In new-leaf, the Clan was already recovering from the harsh battle as well as the extreme cold conditions and no prey.

---

Viperfang let out a hiss as Fireshadow entered the camp with Whitetail and the rest of her patrol.

"What is Fireshadow doing here? I thought Sunclan was all dead by now." His aggresion toward the former Sunclan member was obvious. Sunclan and Stoneclan hadn't gotten along very well, although Eaglestar had always managed to keep the peace between the two clans. Foxstar had been a kind she-cat and had been understanding as well. The two leaders had gotten along well enough, but the Clans' warriors had often ended up picking fights, even at Gatherings.

"I was hoping Thrushsoar might've gotten you killed," Viperfang hissed menacingly. "Then out territory would be rid of all your stink, badger-breath!"

Eaglestar shouldered his way past Viperfang and all of the other warriors.

"Leave Fireshadow alone," Eaglestar's command rang out evenly. "Why is he here?" He asked calmly and without venom in his strong voice. He directed this question at both Fireshadow and the patrol that had brought him.

"I---" Fireshadow mumbled. Whitetail cut in, "I was hunting and just after I caught a thrush he came out of the bushes, looking for some prey." Whitetail continued, "You can smell his scent from a mile away, it reeks like fish." Fireshadow hissed, "I hunt fish, not mice!" Whitetail retorted, "There is no fish on our territory." Liontooth meowed calmly, "We should hear what Fireshadow has to say." Whitetail looked at Liontooh, "Haven't you noticed his scent? He's had a chance to speak, and he did. He lives on our territory!" A ripple of hushes meows went through the crowd.

Eaglestar bared his teeth, quiet for a moment.

"Fireshadow is considered a loner, is he not? And haven't we had loners on our territory before? This is the same situation, I believe. But, he has not yet had a proper chance to speak. If I find any intent of malice or violence in his explanation, I assure you I will deal with it."

Eaglestar turned to Fireshadow, dipping his head slightly and giving him a chance to speak.

Fireshadow meowed, "Stoneclan territory is covering some of Sunclan's old territory, and that's currently where I've been sleeping. I go down the the lake to fish. I don't often hunt mice or forest animals, but only when the fish level is low. My loyalties lie with no one, after Thrushstar was killed, I was just trying to fill his proposition, but his words were empty. I used to live in the old twoleg barn across the lake up until Thrushstar came." Oh great. Stupid Whitetail, I could have run from her in time if it wasn't for her big mouth!

Eaglestar inclined his head.

"I do not believe Fireshadow means any harm. Release him. You have my permission to drive him off of our territory when you see fit, but make sure that you do not injure him. Do not hold him captive again either. That is an order." Some cats looked disappointed, a few even angry and furious. But a lot of cats seemed neutral and maybe even approving as well. Eaglestar was kind and fair, and often didn't punish loners like Fireshadow if they were brought in as prisoners.

Whitetail lashed her tail in frustration, but not saying anything. It's about time a cat got their punishment! She noticed that all of the other cats or atleast, most of them didn't mind a loner being sent away without being given something to remember. Wait a minute, they're used to it now! They know how it's going to go! Yada yada yada, I'm sorry, and now you can go. Anger pulsed through Whitetail, but she kept her mouth shut.

Fireshadow dipped his head to Eaglestar. "Thank you." Padding away, he felt eyes watching him as he went. Taking a glance at Willowshine before he went through the thorn barrier, he crashed into Blackstream, who was darting through. "Watch it!" Blackstream hissed, startled. "Sorry." Fireshadow mumbled. Blackstream's eyes went round with shock. "What are you doing here?" Fireshadow scampered off, before he could answer.

Blackstream could guess. But, she didn't act like it. She walked through the now ruined thorn barrier as she dropped two mice. She could almost expect what she was going to hear.

Eaglestar noticed Whitetail's frustration. His eyes glinted and appeared flinty for a second, but they quickly became calm again. It was so fast that no cat even noticed. He stretched and left the camp, telling his warriors that he was going hunting. He paused before going out into the forest. With a flick of his tail, he summoned Aspenfur and Viperfang.

Viperfang hobbled over as fast as he could, leaning on Aspenfur for support.

"Yes?" Viperfang asked, panting slightly from the effort.
"You, Aspenfur, and I are going to go hunting," Eaglestar responded.
"I can't hunt," Viperfang hissed a reply.
"Yes you can," Eaglestar replied gently. "I will teach you how to hunt again."

For a moment, Viperfang appeared hopeful and excited, almost like an apprentice again. But then he resumed being his dejected and tired self, dipping his head confusedly.

---

Personally, Snowbird didn't mind Eaglestar letting Fireshadow go. After all, she didn't see anything wrong with Fireshadow straying into their territory occasionally. After all, loners did it all the time. She was confused by how angry Whitetail seemed. Shrugging, the young warrior always was a little difficult and aggresive. Snowbird waved to Eaglestar, Aspenfur, and Viperfang with a flick of her tail, and visited Willowshine to help her organize her herbs.

Whitetail padded into the warriors den, and fell asleep quickly, too tired to notice the fact that she was awkwardly splayed out on her side. A cat nudged her as she opened her eyes groggily. It was Blackstream. "What do you need?" she groaned. Blackstream curled her tail over her paws as she meowed. "Why were you so mad at Fireshadow, do you have a crush?" Whitetail hissed, "Of course not! That useless piece of foxdung would have to mate someone that was more him." Blackstream purred. "Hiding something?" Whitetail cuffed Blackstream on the ear, "Of course not you mousebrain!" Blackstream rolled back and held her paws up as she meowed, "Okay okay, you win!" Whitetail yawned as she meowed, "What did you want anyway?" Blackstream meowed in a hush tone, "Do you long for a mate?" Whitetail's eyes went round. "Why do you ask?" Blackstream replied, "Lately I saw how happy cats are when they have kits and are mated. I want to be one of them." Whitetail meowed, "So do I, but you can't go out and ask a cat to be mates!" Blackstream's whisker's twitched. "I know. I was wondering if you felt the same way. I've seen you eyeing Viperfang." Whitetail flatted her ears, "What are you, a spy?" Blackstream purred, "I knew it!" Whitetail purred. It was good to talk with her friends every once and a while. "I'm going to sleep now." Blackstream teased, "I'm going to tell Viperfang!" Whitetail put her paw on her nose as she mumbled, "Don't you dare!"

((NYEEEH. Hehe. xD))

Viperfang let out a yowl as the mouse escape him for the fifth time. The abundance of prey in new-leaf allowed Viperfang to try again... and again... and again... and maybe again again.

"Viperfang, shush," Aspenfur said quietly and gently, but firmly. "You'll scare all the prey off with your racket. Stretch out your leg so that it doesn't hinder you, but you don't have to put weight on it. Take your leg and start stalking like how you did before your accident. Don't drag your leg on the forest floor, and stop it from moving as you move along. Like this," Aspenfur stretched out her leg and glided along smoothly using only three of her paws. She pounced on a leaf, catching it between her front paws.
"And then when you pounce, you just rest your leg on the ground and catch using your forepaws."

"It's easy for you because all of your legs are strong. My injured leg hasn't had any exercise at all," Viperfang pointed out mildly. Eaglestar was watching, occasionally hunting and occasionally chipping in. At one point, he had taken over and taught Aspenfur and Viperfang the way for Viperfang to hunt that Aspenfur was already excelling at now.

Blackstream let Whitetail to sleep as she watched the clearing. It used to be buzzing with apprentices helping the elders and kits would be clumsily playing. It was all dead now. Only a couple other warriors were out in the clearing, including herself. I'm going to go and hunt. Again. Padding away, Liontooth caught up to her. "I'll hunt with you." Blackstream meowed, "Sorry Liontooth, I'm going alone." Liontooth seemed slightly offended, but he understood as he went into the warrior's den. Blackstream sighed as she scampered out of the clearing.

"Foxdung!" she hissed, shaking out her paw. This was the second time she let prey go. She never learned hunting perfectly, and never knew how to land, so she always would land clumsily on her paw, which from time to time, she would tear a claw or sprain her paw. Mumbling a couple of curses, she saw an eagle, soaring over the forest. Maybe it was for good that we didn't have any kits. The eagle dived, and taking the mouse that Blackstream had missed. "Showoff!" she hissed. The eagle landed in a nest, right infront of the clearing. Oh no. Not again! She remembered the last time an eagle made a nest near camp. Three kits died from the eagle, and even a warrior was taken away. Blackstream looked up at the eagle, gulping down the mouse, barely a morsel to the bird. She sniffed the tree, to see if it was the same tree. "Screee!" The eagle swooped down, digging it's talon in Blackstream's cheek, trying to grab Blackstream. Blackstream let out a yowl, trying to scare the eagle away, but the eagle flapped it's wings, stirring up the dirt in Blackstream's eyes. "Help!" she yowled, stunned and eyes watering from the dirt. "Scree!" the eagle called. Oh great. Not another one. The eagle was trying to grip her side, but she was fighting with her eyes closed, she couldn't see, and her cheek was bleeding heavily. The eagle gripped her lower neck, and letting go as it flew off, not caring anymore. Blackstream was exhausted, and out of camp range. The eagle was far from camp, atleast that was cats considered, but it was considered a couple of wingbeats to the eagle. Blackstream faded out of consciousness, bleeding out of her cheek and lower neck,
