Rukiea opened her eyes. They were red with anger. She sat up. "W-what happen?" Jakr grabbed Rosalie and pushed her behind him. "No. I willl not allow you to be taken away to my kingdom and my horrible master. The real reason he wants you is to hold you for ransom and eventually kill you if the ransom was not paid in full." His eyes flickered red. "You cannot take me from this place nor can 'master' control my every move." He sheathed his sword and walked over to the two. He took out shards of crystal from his pocket and placed them in Zack's hand. "Tell John, Jake said farewell and that Jake willl get him for all the punishment." Zack griited his teeth and unsheathed a dagger and plunged it into Jake's arm, missing Jake's chest as he hoped he wouldn't have done. |

"Jake!", Leena cried out, as she saw a daggar plunged into him. Unsure where it had hit, she dashed to his side, sighing with relief, but still angry, when she saw that it had only gone into his arm. She glanced at the princess, who nodded, approving of Leena's liking for Jake. She smiled slightly, nodded back, and looked at the two men. "Leave him alone.", she said, fire in her voice.

"Now a maid is getting involved!" Jay said in an exasperated tone. "What the hell is with this castle? You," He directed his gaze towards Leena. "Get the hell away from here and take the princess with you. Jake'll be fine."

"W-wrong move.... Josh! RUN!!!" Josh dashed off but Zack was caught by Jake's hand and he was pulled to the floor. "Jake! Please forgive me!!" Fear in his voice, Jake looked at Zack then Leena. "W-what do you think?" He unsheathed his sword and held it up to Zack's throat. His hand shaking from the dagger imbedded in his other arm. The blood trickling down his arm and poolong in his glove. |

"Send him back to your master with a message.", Leena suggested, her voice colder than it usually was, "Tell him not to come looking for you." "I agree with Leena.", Maybell said, nodding, "Let him live. He doesn't deserve to, but if he dies, all the more reason for his master to come after you." |

Jake nodded and sheathed his sword. He picked up Zack with his uninjured arm and proped him on his feet. "You can go, but tell Master that my job is done and he should not come looking for me if he knows hwat's best for him and his men." Zack nodded and ran into the trees. Tripping over a tree root and looking back at Jake. He met Jake's eyes and quickly ran off again, stumblin guntil he was out of site. |

Jake looked at Jay. HIs eyes red. "Listen, you may be the leader, but you don't know me as well as you know them." He shook his head. "My master knows i can kill him. He wont come after me."

Jake nodded. "Yeah. He's a terrible long range fighter though." Jake grabbed Leena's wrist and began walking insde. "I need to talk to you."

Leena nodded as Jake led her through the doors and, once they were inside, asked, "What is it? Was it something I did back there? I'm sorry if I offended you..." She lowered her head, looking away.

Jake shook his head. "It was nothing you did back there. I'm just needing to tell you something. And plus, i need you to help me with my wound." Jake pulled the dagger from his arm and threw it into his bag. He winced took him hand from hers and put it over his wound. "You... I like you... AS more than just a friend."

Leena blushed and said softly, "So you do feel the same way." She smiled at Jake and took off her apron, tearing a long strip off and handing it to him. "Until the nurse can be summoned.", she explained, "I'm no good at healing wounds like this." She sighed and placed her hand on Jake's injured arm. (Not on his injury, of course. XD) "What happens if your master does return for you? What if he decides he needs you, and it's worth coming here to bring you back? I don't want to see you captured again. I couldn't stand to loose you.", she said, looking into his eyes. Changing the subject slightly, she continued, "Now, how do you propose we get those shackles off of you? Just thinking about them makes me shudder. And they're obviously too tight, and are possibly cutting off the circulation to your hands. We need to remove them as quickly as possible."

Jake shrugged. "Just cut them off. A hammer should do the job." He took off his gloves and removed his bandages. He sighed. "I really hate these things, I broke the chain that connected them earlier.." He looked at Leena. "IF you must, you can hurt my hands. If its to take off the shackles, i don't care if i get hurt." He puts his hand in her shoulder.

Leena felt a pleasant tingling sensation when Jake placed his hands on her shoulders, but she was barely keeping herself from crying at the sight of his shackles. Poor Jake. How long had he been wearing those? "How would a hammer remove them?", she asked, "I'm no blacksmith, but banging on them won't break them; it will only hurt you. And I refuse to let you get hurt in the removal of them. I will not see you injured in this castle if I can help it. Now, let's get you to the nurse so she can look at them, and properly treat that cut of yours."

Jake nodded. "Alright. I trust what your doing. But the hammer and a simple nail can break the shackles enough for Rukiea to help me burn them off without causing myself serious injury. I will get hurt though. And well, i will get hurt again." Jake looked at Leena and smiled. "Can you get Rukiea and I want to quickly get the cuts healed."

Leena gently took one of Jake's hands from her shoulder and held it, looking directly into his eyes. "Isn't there a way to remove them without causing you any pain?" she asked, "I know, everyone has to feel it sometimes, but I feel the need to prevent it from happening to you as much as possible." She paused for a moment, stroking his hand with her thumb, before saying, "I'll go see if she's woken up", and leaving, letting Jake's hands fall to his sides.

When she left Jake's cheeks turned crimson. He was blushing a lot and he smiled. "No, you have to cause pain to me to get them off. They aren't regular shackles. The come off when i'm in pain. And the pain must come from my wrist." He isghed. "I hate beinga slave." Rukiea looked at JaY. "i'm fine. Im soryr for worrying you gys." |

Not hearing Jake's statement, Leena stopped by Rukiea and Jay. "Jake wants you, Rukiea. He needs you to heal him, and help remove those horrible shackles. Maybell, you should probably tell the king about JAke, and his current situation. Hopefully, he'll be reasonable.", she said, curtsying to the trio. "I will do just that, thank you, Leena. Dismissed.", Maybell said, nodding to her maid and making her way upstairs to speak with her father. "Father?", she asked, tenatively as she entered the room. ((Who's playing the king again? XD; )) |
