Rukiea looked at Mallick and smiled. "Right... Anyways.." She hopped up into a tree and grabbed Mallick's shirt collar. "Don't be stupid. Coem on.. I don't want you to run into the trouble i can see." She began to pull on his collar.

Don't tell me, I bet it's the rest of Jake's army, coming to avenge their master's death. Or they might be coming to celebrate his death, noting how Jake had been treated."

Jay watched as Jake and Leena left and shook his head slightly. "He's going to get himself killed if he doesn't rest." He muttered, sitting down on the bed. He sighed and looked at Maybell. "I still don't get it. Why do you suddenly trust Mallick? What did he do to earn it?" He was still angry but he was trying to calm down. Getting angry wouldn't help anybody.

Leita glanced between Maybell and Jay before quietly leaving.
"Jake, yes, although he's stupid for walking around after getting injuried. But it's Mallick I don't trust." He sighed again. "I guess I would feel better about this whole thing if you had just asked Rukiea or I about it before releasing him. What if it was just a trick and he would have attacked you right after he untied you?"

"Jake and Leita backed me up on it, and the only one in the room with a weapon was Jake. Besides, can't he read emotions? Jake would have been able to sense his lies." Maybell said softly, shaking her head, "Why are you unable to trust my judgement?"

"Yes. Jake is gifted but his gift is more useful than anything i've ever seen. He can feel emotions of others and sence lies, love, and true eviness. I guess I should trust the princess's judgements since Jake was there too. He didn't say you were lying." She looked at Mallick. "Come on." She walked across the thickest branch and hopped into the next tree.

"It's not that I don't trust you judgement, it's just...past experience has taught me to be so trusting towards people like Mallick. You capture them and then they tell you that they want to help so you relesh them. Then it turns out it was just a trick to escape or finish a job."

Jake looked at Jay. "Psh... You have no expirience liek I do. I was forced to trick innocent people in order to finish up a job I hated. But i' dbe whipped if I didn;t finish it. I have stained my hands with enough blood, trickery, and guilt."

"I'll try..." Mallick said, sucessfully walking across the branch, but falling when he tried to leap across the gap. He crashed to the ground before the troop, hitting his head on one of the tree's roots and falling uncontious.
"Yes, well, I trust Jake, and Jake trusts Mallick, therefore, I trust Mallick." Maybell said, standing, "But I am still wary of him. Having him as one of my protectors will put him under more scrutiny from my father than having him as a regular guest."

Damn you! She jumped off the branch and threw down smoke bombs. The troupe was dazed and couldn't see. Rukiea began to kill them off one by one and tried to keepMallick safe as well. "Mallick! Get up! Mallick!!" She saw the smoke had cleared and one man remained. He looked more built than Jake and she was somehwat trembling at his size.

Mallick's eyes blinked open, hearing Rukiea's cry, but he couldn't see a thing. He yelped in pain when his senses returned, hand flying to the left side of his head. He was still unable to see, but his hair was damp and his hand sticky with blood. Despite his poor condition, Mallick stood shakily, drawing his sword. He was blind, at least temporarily, but Rukiea didn't need to know that. He walked uncertainly to her side, moving into a fighting stance, ready to take on anything.

Rukiea looked at Mallick and quickly removed a vial from her pouch. Sh ekept her eye on the man approaching them. She put some on Mallicks wound and it began to heal right away. She grabbed a bandage wrapping and wrapped it around his head. She wiped his face and threw the bloody wet napkin behind her. "Mallick, are you okay? Can you fight?" She looked at Mallick nervously. The man walked up to tehm and grabbed Rukiea by the throat and held her up to the tree trunk. He smirked and looked at her. She was struggling to get free. she had her hands on his hand and was pulling on it despreatly. He squeezed a little tighter. "M-Mallick... P-please Mallick!!" She was struggling more and her feet were trying to kick the man in his gut, but alas, she was too short to reach. She was loosing air quickly and she couldn't breath as much. Her vision was a bit fuzzy now. She could only make out the vague outline of the man holding her neck and Mallick. "M-Mallick....." Her vision was going black. |
