OOC: hfjrkhryjghtrnj seventy-two degrees?! D8 Wowzers. Hope it doesn't affect you too badly.

We're gonna go see How to train your Dragon with Bear. x3 Looks great, even more so after I watched the trailer. That line - "Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile!" - just makes me think so strongly of... eh heh. Well, y'know <3. Sounds just like the kind of thing he'd say to Kitte, since her Gamertag is dragon-based. x3 And she can be useless, sometimes. But I'm far more unhelpful, no competition. xD

xDDDD It's fabbity fab fab! I laughed out loud, I couldn't help myself. Eh. I wanna do something similar now~

Hokai. :3

OoC: Ohwait. You use Celsius, don't you? xD Well then, I s'pose I should say I'd rather it be negative twelve out than twenty-two. That seem a little less ridiculous? P:
How to Train Your Dragon was epic. x3 I saw it on Sunday.. and I kinda felt like you keep saying you do, during the sad parts. Somehow, I hardly felt sad at all. o3o Maybe it was just how tired I was.. 'cause later in the night I was struggling to hold in tears because of a touching thing a friend told me. Then I just felt like a sentimental sap. xD
Youuuu should make 'Rello do the dear-in-headlights pose. 8D
Hokai. Now I swear, I will get something posted. Even if it ends up sucky and short.

How interesting.. Knives hadn't quite expected a response like that - one that actually took his words seriously, when he hadn't even intended them to be. They were mostly meant to be like the thorns of a cactus, driven into the shifter's back just to see his reaction. Knives could definitely see a disapproving frown settling on Ces' face, if he'd said something so deriding about one of her friends. She was reasonable, but he still found it easy enough to ruffle her feathers.

Yet this stranger didn't let his feathers move out of place, didn't seem to pay attention to the thorns at all. He obviously knew what he wanted - and that was the little puppy who was trailing after Vash. And hey, who was Knives to deny him? The Plant smiled like a snake. "Well then, it looks like we can probably help each other out." He held out a hand, as an offer to seal a deal that could only benefit both of them.

But then, something struck him like a hammer to the head. Maybe even like a sandsteamer. Not only was it a jolt of pain that brought him to flinch back and cry out, slap that offered hand to his face, and collapse to his knees; it was an emotional shock as well, and a horrible one at that. He shook with the effort to keep from letting out a sob. Gladly, it ended up as only a short hiss. But Knives wasn't quite as successful with the tears, as they managed to escape as easily as sand through a man's fingers.

And he knew exactly why it all had happened. There was only one ridiculously huge crybaby who could do such a thing to him. Of course it was Vash's fault - he just had to broadcast his overreaction to the whole damned planet. Knives wouldn't have been surprised if all the towns near that little ma-ssacred ruin had just gone through power surges or blackouts.

"Idiot," the Plant hissed. "Keep your feelings to yourself."

(Hm. Decent. x3 I'll try writing something up for Vash'n'Woofwood later.)

OOC: njfghtotjtnr I just lost  a post I'd been writing up. >( I can't stand it when Kitte distracts me or throws stuff at the keyboard. Either way it was her fault.
Eh, I've always been bad at math and temperatures - but I suppose it does sound a little less mad. xD Still surprised one person I told. ^^
... I should, shouldn't I? xD Or him suddenly spotting a hunter-dood. Or running from a  Knives maniac driving a lorry...
Ugh. Attempt Deux at writing a post.

The Haran had been fully expecting the stranger to slyly decline his offer, or saunter off in some other direction that would put their awkward conversation to a complete standstill. This person didn't seem like the co-operative type. At all. He looked and sounded more like someone who only ever made an effort to make the lives of everybody else harder - just because he could. If he did have a purpose behind his slyness, then the Haran wasn't completely sure he wanted to know what it was.

So when the blade-grower openly admitted that a pertnership was possible, the Haran was a little taken aback. He wasn't willing to completely trust this stranger, more so now that there were no deals or promises fixed. Was he really going to help Berello, just like that? His opinion wasn't shifted, however - more the opposite. He'd work with this creep, alright - but he strongly believed he'd never really grow to like him.

When the hand to shake came out, 'Rello was reluctant to accept it it. He stared at it like a deer would at a visible trap, keen to try out the mineral block but fully aware of the danger included. Damn, just shaking hands felt like a challenge. For a second or two he stared at it, unwilling to take it, like he would if he came across something tainted, dangerous or harmful. Like money gained through harmful manners. A weapon that had maimed many. A one-way ticket to a lifetime of running, secrecy, and a prize on your head. He lifted a hand to accept it - better appear coolly businesslike than a twitchy coward.

The stranger's reaction was startling, and the Haran actually stepped back a pace, alarmed and only minutely frightened. Inside, he was also recoiling. The trap had lunged shut and he hadn't even stepped near the block. He slowly let his hand fall as he watched the spectacle proceed, eyes widened. Great. He was dealing with a maniac - again. In an odd way, he felt oddly disappointed. What a crap trap that had been. Strangely, he didn't feel the slightest bit concerned.

He was just about to open his mouth when movement caught his eye. Nervous, he glanced up - and barely stopped himself in time to flinch again.

A looming, spiked figure, dotted with a pair of tiny white, glowing eyes, towered above the canyon. The kentracha's gaze was focused on the unguarded back of the stranger down below, but it was the silence that stabbed caution over and over again inside 'Rello's minds. Hurjad made no noise whatsoever as he watched the newcomer right below him, slowly turning and revealing his obsidiant, msucular forelegs as he considered the idea of leaping down below.

Hurjad! Berello hissed furiously at his brother. Get back!

Why should I? the sneer of a response came. You've been having all the fun lately. Let me have a go-

You don't kow who you're dealing with! This guy... he knows Ces, somehow. Until now, the kentracha hadn't even bothered glance at his younger sibling. But now, hie keen white gaze was fixed on the human-formed Haran, suddenly interested. He could be bluffing, but I'm not sure.

Hrmf. the kentracha replied gruffly. Alright, keep him busy - but I'm staying right here.

OoC: Hurm. Not sure the Doctor'll work at the moment, since Nias is.. missing-in-action? x3 But Vash and Ces and Wolfwood are pretty nearby. ;o Haha.. Wolfwood'd probably be all, 'You again! 8('
Ohmai. Throw something back at her, Wolfeh. ;O Go, Moss!
Yus, yus. Do it Bambi-style! 8D GET UP. GET UP, BERELLOPHONIC. GET UP! But then, we don't really have any other deer do we? Unless Hurjad's Soul-animal is like, the grumpiest deer ever. xD
xDD A maniac and a crap trap. The list of things the Cap'n is just keeps growing, doesn't it?
... I can't think of anything for Vash or Woofwoooood. D: And that's an issue, because I wanna try to spend tonight writing something up for them. Narrh. *thinks*

OOC: She'll probably hit me for telling you, but Nias has a boifrand now. :D It's adorable, really. Now shoot me plz.*bandages eyes*
Ah! - Mebbe Wolfwood hears something coming from Milo's dewds' direction, and darts off - *censored*uming they're survivors of the m*censored*-murder - leaving a confused Plant and Haran behind, all... "... Let's go chase after him, and coincidentially meet up with Milo's dewds! :D" "Yes, let us!"
xDDD Ohmai - you really want a Bambi 'Rello? Fine then. xDD Ohmaigod, an idea - baby versions of all my Haran dewds~ Then you can have a vague introduction to zem all~ 8D I'm toying with the idea of them meeting 'Rello and Hewrad's sister, but... meh. xD I might not. An, oh noes - Hurjad's not a deer. xD Haran siblings don't share the same Soul-Animal form. :3 They could, of course, but only out of pure coincidence. No, I gave Hurjad a heron-like bird, but I've changered my mind. He's gonna have something else. I've got a dog, deer, reptile, and another mammal... Something fishy, perhaps? No, I already have an aquatic Haran... Waargh. I wanna invent another animal again. Iz fuun.
How about, a crap maniac trap? No, wait, that'll give the idea he's crap, but he traps maniacs. No, definetely not... The Cap'n has a tendancy to trap remotely normal OCs.  Ces and 'Rello aren't mentally insane. Well, I hope not.

OoC: Ohay. I got an idea for Vashers too. Better than just having him mope, at least. x3
And.. I think maybe I just about killed one of my friends when she saw the roleplay, while I was trying to think of what to write. She made some of the funniest noises.. xD Apparently, our posts are about a million paragraphs long.

Vash just went quietly with Ces' movement, keeping his eyes to the night-darkened sand. He felt numb after the shock of stumbling on the horrible sights that he was now trying to ignore, but he still couldn't keep from kicking himself at what he'd just about done. He almost couldn't even believe he had - there weren't many people he would snap at, and Ces was far from being part of that little group. It was like trying to compare her to Knives, who pretty much made Vash want to kick something every time he opened his mouth.

But somehow, that was exactly how he felt. Much as Ces tried to be gentle, tried to be a friend in this whirling emotional Hell, the anger simply surfaced again. Vash's grip on the Haran's arm tightened again for a second, and then it let go altogether. He wasn't really sure what he was going to do; for a few seconds the Plant just stood there, hands clenched. But one thing he did know was that he felt like he could just.. explode. It was a fleeting but fearful thought - one that brought images of the remains of what used to be a city to mind.

For a moment those images brought a bit more sense to mind, dulling the Plant's anger as he looked absently to the side - away from Ces, in shame for his actions. And then just as quickly, July darted from his thoughts, and frustration flared up again. Before he knew it, Vash had whipped a hand to the handle of his gun, which still sat faithfully in its place on his side. A shot cracked the air as a random wall received his fury - six bulletholes in its sandy face, all fired in a split second, and several more attempts that just left an unsatisfying click in his ears.

Vash was tempted to reload - very tempted - but that was enough. He let the revolver's nose dip a little, as if in disappointment, then sent it spinning around his finger and right back into its holster. He turned back to Ces, finally feeling a little calmer, even as the eye of a dead stranger managed to catch his eye and flip his stomach. It was hard to stop himself from cringing at the sight, but Vash tried to ignore it. He looked to the Haran with blank eyes, his face a mask of nothingness.

"Sorry.." he sighed. "Let's go get Wolfwood then."

(Gonna try to posteh for Woofwood later. x3)

Star saw Caine check around the corner of an alleyway and then gestured to Star. She followed, almost on tip-toe. "Where are we going?" Star whispered. She tripped on her own shoe and steadied herself by leaning on a brick wall.

"You'll see!" Caine hissed. Star rolled her eyes and started to memorise everything around her. Stacks of boxes were piled high on the left and a few rats scurried past. A leaky pipe sprayed water onto the ground and a ladder creaked slowly as it swayed in the wind.

"Oh great." Star had turned the corner and ran into a very familiar face. "Wolfwood." She said, and was again consious of her torn dress. "What are you doing here?"

OOC: Stewpid girl. You could've caught fire. So why did you turn it off?
Nt rly. <3 I lobe you and know that if the laptop doesn't cook you, the weather sure will.

Ces wasn't entirely sure how to respond - at least, quickly. She hadn't expected the shootout at all; after the previously soothing - but difficult - silence, the sudden explosion of sound felt like a vortex had burst into being beside them. Having not time to prepare or cover her ears, the booming shots ripped through the air like a furious pinpoint of stored-up energy, and left a ringing sensation in the Haran's ears. She'd been used to the sound of gunfire, but Vash's handgun emitted a completely unique sound, and seemed so much more powerful. The model she often created herself suddenly felt small and feeble in comparison to the Plant's, but she felt no desire to feel jealous.

She physically jumped back, and her hands flew up to hover by her grimy face, instantly alert and - instinctively - as-suming Knives was back to finish the job. But there were two points to note that the wickeder of the Plant pair was absent - the gunfire was coming directly from Vash (and he wouldn't actually shoot out at anybody without warning... wouldn't he?), and the Plant hadn't yelled out and leapt forwards to shield her (like he'd been known to do in the past). In a moment she had calculated these odds, and was surprised - as well as ticked-off a little - to see that the Plant was not shooting at something deadly and useful, but a wall.

Taking his anger out? Most likely. Ces allowed the Plant to proceed without protest, but felt a trickle of doubt and shame spread itself into her mind - like the roots of a sapling beginning to settle, but sped up and more menacing, twisted and dark. Had she annoyed or infuriated him so badly he'd had to resort to a weapon he barely used? Seeing him hold a weapon, even if it was his own, and staring at her so blankly and lifelessly made her feel oddly... accused.

He wasn't the kind of person who'd weigh down his friend's feelings by directly blaming them. And he probably wasn't doing that, right now. But Ces felt as though she'd angered or irritated him to the extent where his patience had run completely dry. What startled her even more was that it actually mattered to her, and in a very negative way. She felt like the dog that had failed to fulfil her master's orders, or uphold her loyalty to him in some way. Damn the Spectre. Damn her soul-form. Damn every link she had to a dog's mind, and the influence it had on her!

Nodding once, she turned halfway from him, this time agitated to get going. Then she noticed that he wasn't holding onto her anymore, shrugged inwardly, and turned her back on him, partly just to hint that the night didn't last forever, and partly because she didn't want to look at those dead eyes anymore. Vash looked just about as lifeless as those scattered at her feet, and for the first time, a humane feeling feeling of remorse tugged at her throat, threatning to break her barrier against grief completely, just as her foot accedentally tapped the fingertips of a young woman, no older than twenty-five. Ces considered pausing to stoop and close her eyelids, but froze when she came to a final stop in mid-pace. Had her eyesight been superior again, Ces would've spotted the subtle, almost nonexistent dapple of stars that gently reflected back on the human's eyes, mirroring those above in the sky. But the Haran imagined that they were there, and decided not to close them. At least, let her lie there gazing up at the stars, instead of succumbing to overwhelming blackness. Diamonds against a blue-black cover up ahead was much better than an infinite darkness. At least stars provided peace, and the Haran walked on towards Wolfwood, suddenly calmed a great deal, and oddly harmonious too, and convinced herself that no matter what the agony of death looked like now, the town's dead were at peace, forever able to see the night sky until survivors decided to shut it out forever. Besides, closing one pair of eyes would be oddly futile, utterly dwarfed by the other countless pairs of eyes that were available as well. Ces proceeded onwards and didn't glance backwards or downwards again.

OOC: Eh. A bit sobbish, but... eh. xD I wanted to exaaggeerrraaattte~

Bah. The thought of being cooked by my own laptop isn't a very pleasant one. xD It's plotting against me!
... Now I feel bad for going with such an unemotional conclusion, instead of having Vash offer a hand or something like I'd been tempted to. x3 Her reaction kinda tears me up inside..  OoC: Nuh. My little joke didn't end up as amazing in writing as it is in my head. x3 But.. eh. It still gave me a good laugh.
Aaaand Cap'n still doesn't get a post. I do have an hour and a half before I can actually post this (it was four-thirty then) but I really don't feel like thinking of more. *braindead* Guess at least I actually fulfilled my promise though. :D
And gladly, I don't feel dead this time. xD Go weekends.
... I never got what the knock-on-wood thing means~ x3 /dense
xD He'll survive it. He's a fighter - a fighter with a ridiculous chameleon-tongue and creepy noodle arms. Hurhur.

Wolfwood began walking again, seeing that the pair was just standing there. It wasn't all that surprising, considering how much Vash was probably freaking out by now. He could easily hear the guy's whining in his head; 'Why did this have to happen?' he would cry. By no means did things like this make the priest happy, but Wolfwood probably got more worked up over Vash's fits for them than he did about the actual things. He was a little caught up between being a good friend and trying to be a comfort, bad as he was at it, or just letting things go their own way as long as he could and making his way slowly.

Of course, he chose walking slowly. Vash's new friend was there with him, so Wolfwood figured maybe he could let her try to take the job. Probably not very good for a best friend, but he shrugged it off. Things should be all right. Instead of rushing to the Plant's side, he just sauntered along on the dusty road with his hands in his suit pockets. For once, he didn't have a light burning under his nose; for now he just occupied himself with the night sky and his own idle thoughts.

But they weren't idle for long. Within what seemed like seconds of his decision to let wolf-girl handle things, Wolfwood found himself jumping into a fighting stance, looking around for some armed enemy that needed to be given a good shot in the face. At first he'd thought Vash was doing the same thing, as he glanced in that direction - until he saw what the Plant was aiming at. And again, he found himself aggravated. The guy was shooting at a wall. Wolfwood could only imagine the reasons why, but all of them seemed pretty stupid. Apparently, wolf-girl had failed miserably.

"Why?" Wolfwood sighed to the sky, like maybe the moons could help. They didn't. With a grumble, the priest started toward Vash and his friend - at least, until he felt a strange sort of feeling that made him want to stare into the alleyway that sat pretty much right next to him. "Priesty.. senses... What?!" He definitely hadn't been expecting to see her again. "You?"

Not only had Starlett suddenly come back, but her questions seemed pretty ridiculous. "What am I doing here?" he asked, giving up on the gentleness he'd attempted with her the first time. "What the Hell kind of question is that? You're the one who ran off while I was trying to help - and now five minutes later you're suddenly here again, looking fine and dandy and asking me what I'm doing here? I'd say there are about ten iles' worth of things wrong here."

Vash just stood there for a second as Ces moved on, the Haran now seeming impatient and eager to get moving - or maybe to get away from him? He wasn't entirely sure how to react, or even if his guess was anywhere near right. He wasn't sure if anything in his thoughts could be right, at the moment. But even with Ces' cold response, the Plant tried not to let anything rip through his mask; he'd finally gotten a little bit of calm, and if he let anything reach out, everything else might just come with it. He wasn't sure he could handle that.

Finally, he sighed quietly and followed behind, head down, like a starving stray with its tail tucked. It was hard to ignore the nagging thoughts of how empty Ces' face had looked - probably a pretty close mirror to how his own must have looked to her, now that he thought of it. He just couldn't stop messing up, could he? He was so focused on his own emotions that he'd forgotten hers - and in the process he may as well have actually snapped at her, have shoved her away and shouted in her face. No.. this wasn't right.

But Vash couldn't think of anything to do - not anything that wouldn't ruin his emotional blockades and possibly send it all raging again. And not only that, but it felt like Ces might just be the one who should blow up now - like with the lightest touch she could go off. She definitely had every right to, at this point. And worse yet, he feared that she might not do anything at all. Suddenly the Haran's back seemed more frightening than anything Knives could throw at him, and Vash just about broke into pieces. Those few new tears that fell as he tried to reach a hesitant hand toward Ces, feeling blocked by some unbreakable barrier, probably didn't look like much on his already tear-streaked and grimy face.

Then at last he broke through, feeling like he'd just somehow avoided drowning in a neverending sea, even though he couldn't swim. "Ces.. wait," he choked out, quickening his pace to catch up, then catching her by the shoulder with that raised hand. Sadly though, he couldn't actually feel the contact; this time it was his left, nothing but unfeeling metal. He tried to find something to say that hopefully wouldn't seem pointless or insensitive. Not much came to mind.

The surprised and aggravated shouting that suddenly came from Wolfwood's direction didn't help either.

(Walking toward Woofwood sure is an eventful time. 8D)

OOC: Duude. xD Vash's response was good - unexpected, but interesting. :D F'nally, a bit more gun-action, even if the target was unresponsive~ And I'd like to see how the friendship between them both fares when there's gunfire spitting from both sides. No nuclear warheads just yet, just a bit of mucking about that will add some essence of twisty-turny-plot. Most roleplay relationships are too smooth, too perfect. 8( Let's give ours acne!
xDD Plant Soda. Friendly to your ferns, too! :D
It's not just the arms and the tongue that unnerves me. It's his eyes, he looks like a goldfish. OMG is he a Haran too? :O Plus the terrified... things at his feet give him an air of tyrannical dominance. Watch out, Stalin. You haves a competition!
It sure is. ;o I imagine what things would be like just walking to the corner shop. Crossing the street would errupt some kind of disaster, too.
Edit later. Daddy and his friend are having a bonfire outside right now and I wanna play too.

Ces only had time to absorb her friend's words before something grabbed at her shoulder. The sound and contact had been so unexpected she almost jumped, but she guessed it wasn't just because she hadn't anticipated the gesture. She felt strangely vulnerable, twitchy, confidently trusting her instincts but secretly doubting them too, like a fox certain of his tricks and abilities but all too aware that he had more enemies than friends. She was aware of the gaps and cracks in her stronghold, the little crevices and flaws that were normally easy to fill, understand and avoid. Now, however, the damage was everywhere. Not to the point of extremity, where she'd disintegrate into a mental breakdown, but enough so that her senses were blunted and the world around had felt like it had sharpened without consulting her. It was taunting her, prodding her with new little tricks to keep her from resting, like wolves. Keeping its distance but always moving in, nipping at the moose's heels every time it tried to lie down, drink, or eat. There was only one solution - escape.

She could leave this place, right here, right now. Just for a while. Transform and just run, or fly. Find a place to stay for a few hours - just to get her strength back. Sleep and eat, then find them again in the morning. No problem. Vash and the others would understand; they were good in that respect. They'd realize she wasn't being traitorous. She was a Haran, with two minds in one head. She'd been obeying her human side for a while now, for the sake of her friends. Staying close and acting sympathetic. Now her wolf half needed a go to be the leader, and its first new law would be to leave, by any means possible. The idea was incredibly tempting...

Temporarily pushing Vash aside in her mind, she ignored his hold on her shoulder and froze in mid-pace. Straightening her back and her head, she glanced upwards as a few small, brown feathers, black in the darkness, slowly crawled out of her arms, crackling quietly and distorting the folds of her clothing. Fingers lengthened, flattened, and became flight-feathers. Her short, tacky hair became smooth and sleek, although they were a little ruffled. Her back became a sea of feathers, writhing and twisting against itself as her anatomy changed.

But before her mouth became a beak, and her soft eyes became angry, she stopped herself before she could continue. She hadn't yet increased in size to the giant eagle's stature, but her eyes were more level with the Plant's nose now; she was definetely taller. She turned halfway around, meeting her friend's gaze and allowing the nape of her neck to smoothen into skin again, until only her arms and back were birdlike. Pity swarmed in her mind like water filling up a dry crevice as she drank in the details of Vash's face. He looked agonized, damnit. Who'd look after the idiot if she left him? She still considered Shade, but the Fera had new company now. Ces would never dream of replacing her sisterlike friend, but for once, just for now, she put Vash before the crazy kid.

A small smile tugged at her torn-up lips as a large, dark shadow, the outline of a wing, cast itself between the pair and the moons up above. She stepped backwards a pace so that her newly deformed limb settled itself around her friend, coating him in a long, feathery cape stretching from his shoulders right down to his ankles. Ces was grateful, for the first time in a long time, that no matter how much she modified her wings, they were nearly always large enough to shelter her friends. Her other arm, she shortened a little, to prevent it from dragging across the bloodsoaked sand.

"I wish you'd make up your mind about what goes through your head," she murmured quietly, taking control again and proceeding forward with the Plant firmly tucked inside her wing like a coccoon. She wasn't really expecting to shelter him from physical danger - just from lack of reas-surance and strength. Her citadel was still standing, and it was going to provide shelter for anyone who needed it.

OoC: Ohlard. You have me grinning like a sappy idiot. xD At first I was all, 'Noooo don't fly away. DDDD8' but now I'm just.. 'Awwwe.'
And pretty much all of your OoC had me iggling my head off. Relationship-acne? Stalin? Lard, ily wummin. xDD And for the goldfish-eyes thing, I did once see someone say his face looked like something out of Silent Hill. It made me iggle.
Hurr, it's like the butterfly effect. They take a step; something explodes. Or like, if Gunsmoke had ice cream stands or something.. xD They go to get ice cream, and right before they get there, a sudden Toma stampede barrels right through it.
... Suddenly I really wanna make Vash's left arm get ripped off. I'mma have to do that the next time we have a big conflict. 8D Except, I have no idea how he'd replace it, unless I wanna force a field trip to the ship that still flies. Maybe not. x3

I'mma wait for a Mousehhh. ;o

OoC: Y'know. Maybe I should post for Sir Cutlerz. I've been sitting here doing nothing all day, and poor Knives hasn't even gotten a post in more than a week. x3
Also. Lard, I've been ridiculous in the past couple days. For once I really wanna roleplay, and it's killin' me when I can't posteh. xD So I've been just.. really distractered and emotionally spazzy. Feeling horrible over things like the song Death of a Martian and Neytiri's whole, 'OMG YOU'RE NOT A PEOPLE 8(', and laughing my head off at the stupidest things.. And reading lots of Trigunz. Doesn't much help with the spazzemotions thing, especially with how much I already tend to laugh like an idiot at it. |D
Harr. /fail

Knives sighed roughly, closing his eyes and trying to let the waves of emotion fall away. It took a bit of effort, especially with how Vash just kept throwing off more sadness, more anger, more just downright being a sentimental fool - as he always was. It was like a relentless pest, determined to keep nipping and biting even as he tried to swat it away. Finally though, the waves did die down. It was hard to resist sending back his own nasty regards - but that probably wouldn't be much help for either of them.

He was about to speak as he looked back up to the shifter, not caring about the tears that now streaked his face, but he stopped upon noticing that the shifter was looking up as well. And it was obvious where he was looking, since there was a pair of pure white eyes staring straight back down at them. The Plant couldn't tell much more about the figure, just a spiked silhouette against the moons' light, but he was sure he knew who it was. This was the other one he'd seen as the first ran away - it had to be. There would definitely be no one else in a place like this.

But rather than calling out the other, he decided to play things low-key. Calling the figure out may just make it retreat back into the shadows - it might even scare the first shifter away, if they were very touchy. And that would definitely make this whole thing a wasted failure of a trip. So, he simply got to his feet and ignored the eyes that watched him from behind.

"Sorry about that," Knives said, yet again sounding completely level despite his appearance. "Brother's being a little annoying. Something must have happened; maybe I shouldn't have left him with your wolfy friend. But..." Again, the hand was offered, although this time it had no smile to go with it. Just a hand. "We still have a deal?"

Star took one step back in shock and Caine stared at Wolfwood hard. “I... I couldn’t stay out in the open. I didn’t know… I didn’t know you were helping me. I – I wasn’t supposed to get distracted.” Star’s gaze drifted to the ground, where she stared at her shoes and tried not to scream out in frustration. Why was this man angry all of a sudden? Why was he so nice to me when we first met? Now he is so different. Star finally decided that she didn’t like this priest, not one bit. But she still needed help. Someone that could look after her. Caine couldn’t, as he was a ghost. Star nodded at Caine and he nervously took a step back, and faded into the background.

Star faced Wolfwood and stared into his face. “I’m in trouble. I need help. Caine isn’t strong enough... I’m – I’m running away from my town. My family are after me. They’ll kill me. I need somewhere secret to stay. Do you know a place? Do you know anyone that could possibly help me?” She knew that she was possibly putting her life into this stranger’s hands, but somehow she knew that he could help.

OoC: Lol. I hope you don’t mind having to change a bit of your plans for Wolfwood, Yosheh. o3o that’s probably the most I’ve written these entire few pages that I’ve been on this roleplay. x3
