"I don't care. It's better this way. No one can touch me. I've been thinking about whether or not i should keep it that way." She choked up tears, which was hard for a ghost to do. The clear tears rolled off of her cheeks and faded before falling into the burning flames. "Dusty, just like you i have a secret. My parents don't know. Not even Jackie." She sniffed.

Dusty paused for a second. He hadn't been expecting that kind of response. Finally, after he had chosen his words carefully, he responded. "I don't think you should stay like that." He looked down and picked up another mouse bone, running his fingers over it. "Being able to touch things is important to humans. Even if you don't think you are one, your brother, your family, they'd miss being able to hold you." He dropped the mouse bone into the fire. "I'd think you'd miss it too." He wanted to say more, but he couldn't find the words to do so. He gave her a sad look, knowing their conversation was taking a dark turn.

"I don't know anymore. I can't..." her words drew to a blank and she let out a sigh. "You know how when you really want to tell someone something, but you can't really get it out?" She looked at him, hoping he would be able to answer. "I sort of feel like that. I feel bad that i can't even tell my brother. It hurts to keep it inside." She looked up at the trees, debating whether or not she should return.

"Yeah, I do," Dusty said, "The best advice I can give is that actions speak better then words." He sighed. "But you have to understand that you don't have to feel guilty about your brother. He'll understand if you can't tell him something. Like with Rune, I haven't told him my secret and he never asks, but we're still closer than brothers. People who care about you...well they just understand." He gave her an apologetic look, wishing he could be more help.

Leah stared at her hands for a minute. She reached her hand out and brought it through the flames, not feeling anything. She smiled back at Dusty and floated over to him. She returned to her human form and sat down beside him. "Thanks for trying to help. I can be really stubborn sometimes." She put her hand on his shoulder and then brought her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. She rested her head on her knees and stared at the fire.

"Any time," Dusty said, blushing slightly. He shifted his position to mirror hers and threw another mouse bone into the fire, a new nervous habit he seemed to have picked up. He stole a glance at Leah before returning his gaze to the fire. "So... what do you want to talk about?"

Leah looked around." The weather is... never mind, i can't tell because of the trees. Hey, you know where everyone else is? I started making the fire when you woke up and i wasn't really paying attention to the others. Which reminds me... there was this... cat up there last night." Leah looked up to the branches above them.

"Oh, that was probably Splash, Rune's cat." Dusty chuckled. "I'm sure he's off hunting for something to eat by now." He looked up and a wave of anxiety went over him. The sky was completely blocked off by the trees. No way to check the sun or moon. He tried to remember the last full moon but couldn't. "Do you...um...know when the next full moon is?" he asked, finally admitting defeat.

Leah looked at him. That's right, he's a werewolf. She cleared her throat. "It's only been... one day, right? I think... it's only in a few days. Hopefully we get out of here by then though." An idea sparked her mind. "Hey, i'm a ghost right? That means i can go through objects and stuff? That means i could go fly up to see the sky and be able to tell what time it is! Maybe i can see the moon." She laughed at her brilliant mind.

Dusty was silent. A few days it was so close and he didn't even have an exact number. He shivered and pulled his knees closer to his chest. "Yeah, you could." he said quietly, looking over at her. He knew his fear showed in his eyes, but he couldn't hide it. Plus, he trusted Leah enough to not hide his emotions around her.

Leah transformed an blasted as fast as she could through the trees. She pas$ed through the leaves and was above the forest. SUCCESS! She looked around but the sun was only just... setting? She grimaced and looked over to the moon. It seemed extremely close. She felt like she could reach out and touch it. Right, check for... Leah tried to fly up further, enjoying the freedom from the forest when she bumped into an... invisible wall of some sort? She wasn't able to pas$ through it. She was a ghost. This was very bad. She descended back down Dusty, a sad look upon her face. "It'll be full in about another day. Then, it isn't morning right now. It's almost nighttime. More importantly, we're stuck in a bubble. This forest is surrounded by the bubble. I don't think we're getting out anytime soon." Her face darkened.

"A bubble?" Dusty gasped, standing up. "But that's impossible. I know you guys woke up here but me and Rune were in the forest surrounding my house, there's no way--" he cut himself off. It didn't matter how they got here, what mattered was figuring out how to get out, but right now that seemed impossible. He slumped to his knees, on the verge of tears. If only the full moon wasn't so close. He didn't want to go through that, not in this forest, not in front of Leah...

Leah crouched beside him, human once again. " We'll get out soon enough. Don't worry. And... I think I know what's coming... but don't worry about that either." She cast him a smile. She didn't want him to feel so much pressure. So to lighten the load, she gave him a hug and stood up. "I don't know where Jackie or the others are, but i don't think you should worry so much. What's going to happen is going to happen. You can't change it." SHe laughed, walking oover to pick up more firewood.

Dusty jumped slightly when Leah hugged him but didn't pull away. He knew what she said was true, but it didn't make him feel any better. Still, he smiled and stood up, walking over to Leah to stand beside her. "Well, Rune's still conked out over there and your brother would of used that weird telepathy you guys have if something was wrong so that's two less people to worry about." He looked over at Rune, who had curled up at some point, and smiled. He had two people he cared about with him, maybe things weren't as bad as they seemed.

Jackie walked over and sat between Dusty and Leah, his jacket full of dozens of typed of berries. He smiled, feeling accomplished. Leah stared at him, slightly confused. He placed it in front of them and set it all out. “So, is everything okay now?” Jackie asked. “Yeah, pretty much. I’m not completely dea--er, not, I… forget I said that. Where did you get all those things?” Leah asked him. “I went berry picking. I had some spare time on my hands.” “Berry picking? You?” “Well… the rabbit didn’t agree with me. I didn’t really want to eat the squirrel either.” He sighed as Scratch squeaked on his shoulder. “Are those all edible?” Leah eyed them. She could tell what some of them were, but others she had no clue as to what on earth they were. “Um… I really don’t know.” He laughed, a little caught off guard. “Dusty… you feeling better?”

((Laggy computer is lagging >_<)) Dusty stared at the berries, none of them jumped out as being poisonous but he wasn't exactly the best at identifying. If only his sister was here. He sighed. "To be honest, I'm a lot worse than when I woke up...but I'll live." He looked at the berries again. They didn't look appetizing and Dusty wasn't very hungry in the first place. Maybe he'd go hunting with Rune later.

Leah looked over to Dusty, wondering whether or not they should tell him about the bubble surrounding the forest. "Um... listen Jackie, we kind of have an issue. Something about this forest..." Her words faded. "Yeah?" Jackie asked.

"We're trapped here. Some weird bubble is keeping us in." Dusty finished. 'And the full moon is only a day away.' He added silently. "Someone, or something, wants to keep us here, although I haven't figured out why."

"We'll probably be stuck here longer than we think. Hopefully, there's lots of food out here. Anyway, it's good you got back." Leah hugged him. She turned to Dusty. "You think Rune'll be all right?" she looked over at the body, curled asleep on the ground. (brain <.< lag)

"He'll be fine." Dusty answered confidently. "He just sleeps a lot." He crawled over to were Rune was sleeping and shook him. "Hey, wake up." Nothing. Annoyed, Dusty picked up Rune's hand and bit it. "Yeouch!" Rune cried, sitting up quickly and pulling his hand out of Dusty's mouth. "Have you people forgotten how to wake a person up or do you just enjoy inflicting pain on me?!" Dusty laughed and pulled him back to where Leah and Jackie were. "I just thought it was time for you to wake up." "You're an animal, look you drew--hey are those edible?" Rune asked, staring at the berries and totally forgetting about his hand.
