OoC: Sorry about the wait. I haven't felt like posting since college is taking more time than I expected.

Though the rest of the walk had been silent, Kyrian didn't feel uneasy with Cyri as company. In fact, he found it very pleasant. On the whole journey back, he held her hand in a loose grip and would often peak shy glances at her. When she caught him looking he would just squeeze her hand and look ahead again. Now, with the barn in sight, Kyrian sighed. The soft glow of a lantern lit just inside the cozy confines was strangely welcoming to him, since he normally didn't like close quarters or company. He knew that Cyri was the source of this change in his nature.
The barn looked a bit empty and Kyrian thought about how Lyora had lost her way. He felt bad for not helping Adrik find Lyora, but the other avian could be so infuriating that he didn't even bother offering. He's so stuck-up that he would probably just give a snide remark about how great he is at tracking. With a mental shrug, Kyrian gave one last gentle squeeze to Cyri's hand then let go.
Walking up to the barn alone, Kyrian thought about how he still didn't feel comfortable with their relationship, and he definitely didn't want to flaunt Cyri around because she was too proud for that. Never would he act as though she were just a piece of property to show off. Though, he did know that she wouldn't mind a little show of affection in public, but Kyrian knew that he was just too guarded for such displays. All I have to do is hold her hand in front of a few people, he told himself. That's not so bad...Yeah right, and I would rather eat nails.
Pausing just inside the barn, Kyrian rubbed the palms of his hands over his eyes, trying to relax his overworking brain. He hoped that Cyri understood his need to be separated for the time being. He had some emotional stress overload, and Kyrian didn't quite know how to deal with it. Glancing around he spotted Trinity sitting near a stall and a sweet, soft nicker drew his attention to an ebony mare. "Where did you come from?" he softly murmured to the gentle Friesian, scratching just below her forelock. She's a real beauty, must have cost a fortune. I wonder where she came from.
Meanwhile, Zephyra shivered at Silent's words. They were spoken true, but still left her feeling cold. Although, they sparked her inner fire, since Zephyra was a stubborn girl. Then he left without giving her a chance to defend herself, so all she wanted to do was track him down and give him a piece of her mind. Telling him about all the ways she could protect herself for mindless creatures.
With a pouting frown, Zephyra clutched her bowl of berries a bit too tightly. When Lyora dashes after Silent, she rolled her eyes. Of course, she thought, that's what love birds do right? Get each other in a tizzy, then kiss, and make-up. Turning on her heels, Zephyra stomped away.
Branches snagged her tunic but she didn't pay them any attention. Careful of her footing, Zephyra kept a brisk pace back to the barn, every once and a while glancing over her shoulder...just in case. When the barn came into view, Zephyra smiled brightly at the sight of Kyrian. "Brother!" she chirped, surprising herself because of the volume. I never have been the silent type.
Dashing up to her brother, a few berries slipping from the bowl, Zephyra continued to gather him in a tight hug, nearly dumping her bowl down the back of his shirt. "Shot," Zephyra grumbled, "I need to set this down, then you can give me one of those big bear hugs." Pulling away, she placed the bowl on the ground then launched herself into her brothers arms. He caught her with ease, since she was still thin from her sickness, and lovingly crushed her in a bear hug.
In his deep, quiet voice, Kyrian said, "You always find ways to make me embarr*censored* myself, little sister."
"It's my job," Zephyra shot back with a wicked grin, as she watched him shift uncomfortably after the show of affection.
