"Don't tell her," "We're at the beach," Jay blurted, and Oliver laughed. "Not just any beach. The beach with no sand," Oliver said, smiling.

He scrambled to his feet and kicked Jay in the shin, but all he did was flinch. "Look what you did!" Jay shrieked in his face, startling all the rest of his friends. "I don't even know what's going to happen!" "Calm down," Hayden murmured, looking down. "I doubt she'd break up with you over something like this." Jay smacked Hideo on the side of the head anyway. "I'm going to go find her," he snarled under his breath, stalking off. Gage followed, just to calm Jay down.

pression softened when he saw the terrified look on Gage's face. "I...don't think I should," Jay said, looking away from Gage. "She told me not to." "That means she wants you to," Gage murmured, and this time he got a confused look. "...Fine," Jay agreed, taking his phone out and handing it to Gage. "You call her. I'll talk, but... I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to call her without dropping my phone." Gage nodded, then pulled Hayden's car keys out of his pocket. "This if for you," he said just before he dialed Nicole's number.
