Jay sat up, sighing. He opened his mouth to speak, just when someone came up behind Nicole. "Hey," he said, blinking up at the male. Then, he grinned. "I didn't expect to see anyone here."

Blake grinned back. "I didn't expect to see you here with a girl. Did Kurt and the rest ditch you?" he asked. Jay's smile barely wavered, but he only nodded slightly.

"That, my dear, is Blake, the only intelligent skater boy-slash-surfer dude you'll ever meet." Jay said, pulling Nicole over to him. "By 'intelligent' I mean by surf-boy standards."

Blake rolled his eyes, reaching over and punching Jay's arm with a grin. "You still hate me 'cause I made ya fail that test, huh?" He looked over at Nicole, still smiling. "And who's this pretty little lady?"

"Nice ta meecha," Blake said, holding his hand out for Nicole to shake. Jay slapped it, and looked away when Blake looked up at him with wide eyes.

"I couldn't help myself." Jay said quietly, grinning. Blake shrugged, then stuck his hand out again.

Blake pulled his back a little, pressing the tips of his finger's to Nicole's. Jay couldn't help but grin. It was that kind of humor that made them friends. "Anyhoo~" Blake sang, standing back up. "I came up because I noticed Jay..." He looked over at him, blinking. "building one of his signature, painful sand castles. In front of a girl, too! What's wrong with you?" He kicked a little sand at Jay, who rolled his eyes.

"I'll do whatever I want in front of Nicole," Jay said, hugging her. "She loves me, so it doesn't matter." He kissed her cheek. "Right?" he asked Nicole, smiling.

"Good," Jay said simply, giving Nicole a little eskimo kiss. He didn't even realize that he used to do that all the time with Blake.

"No. Way." Blake dropped down again, lying on his stomach and holding his head up on his knuckles. He stared at Jay, who stared back, confused. "...Do you know how to surf now?" he asked, brightening.

Jay laughed. "I'm not getting into your surfer dude thing, man. I met Nicole as a skater boy, and forever I will be a skater boy." He hugged Nicole tightly.

"No, he doesn't." Jay said, smiling back at Nicole. "I actually met him here. I'm not very surprised to have found him here again, except that I haven't seen him around in a while. Not even at this beach." He blinked at Blake. "Where the hell have you been?" he asked.

Blake blinked back. "I've been over by those caves over there," he said, turning over and pointing at them. "No one really notices 'em, that's why I store m' equipment and stuff there."

"Oh, yeah..." Jay blinked at the beach. "I know that place. Forgot about it, but yeah." He looked over at Nicole. "You wanna go see?" he asked.

"I...did, too," Jay blinked at Nicole, wrapping his arm around her waist. "I said I met him here. That's, uh, what you want to know, right?" he asked, confused.

Blake snickered. "As clueless as ever," he muttered under his breath, smiling devilishly.

"Well, Nicole," Jay whined, turning her head to make her look at him. "if I didn't answer your question, how can I?"

"Uhm," Jay rubbed the back of his neck lightly, squinting at the ground. "We just met here. I was alone, so was he, and the beach was all vacant and whatnot... We started hanging out after that." He had trouble ignoring Blake's giggles.

"We're friends," Blake said before Jay could answer her. And again, Jay failed to react fast enough before Blake could talk. "At least, now we are. I used to be Jay's boyfriend." He smirked.

And Jay died a little inside. If this turned out to be another whole Kurt-involved situation thingy, he'd kill himself.
