Jay's smile widened. "You're too sweet, Nicole," he said, and kissed her cheek again. "I don't really care what he thinks. I think it's a really sweet thing, what you did."

Nicole smiled at him. "It's no big deal, really.." She lied. She wondered, would he have gotten her name on him if she had asked him to? Or, even, if she didn't.

Nathan slumped down the stairs, turning to see Nicole and Jay. "Oh, you're here.. I mean, you're here?" He asked, Looking him over.

"No big deal, my-" Jay cut himself off just as Nathan came down the stairs, and he put on the same polite smile he mostly only used on the parents of his date, girlfriend, or even boyfriend. "Yeah." he said simply, answering Nathan.

( Oh, my. xD Is there a possibility Nathan could become the second Kurt?

"I can't visit my fiancee?" Jay asked, raising an eyebrow. "I think I have the right. And, at that, why do you ask?"

Nathan raised his hands in the air, like he surendered. He drew his head back. "I was just curious," He said. "Hey, if your marreing my sister, I gues we're gonna be practicly family, eh?" He asked.

Nicole Just sat there, not saying anything. She would have Nathan leave, though, if he tried to start a fight. She just hugged herself closer to Jay.

Jay raised an eyebrow. "Practically?" he repeated, narrowing his eyes slightly. "No, man, we are family. You know, as soon as Nicole and I are married. Papers and all, I mean."

Nathan shifted in his seat a bit. "No need to get snappy," he retorted. "I was just asking a question."

Nicole looked up at Jay. "I'll be right back," She told him, and stood up, walking off.

When she was gone, Nathan looked over at Jay. "So you really love her, eh?" He asked. That would be a bummer, kinda. He seemed cool to him. Probably a bit too cool for being his sister's fiancee.

"Alright," Jay said, watching Nicole leave. Not noticing Nathan, he was a bit startled when he spoke again. "O-oh, yeah..." He rubbed the back of his head, furrowing his brow. "I love her. Never thought I'd fall for a cheerleader, but, y'know."

Jay rolled his eyes. "Not my type," he said through gritted teeth. He blinked in surprise when Nathan said he didn't care much, and exclaimed, "Hey, that's you're sister you're talking about!" When he said that, he stopped, realizing that Nathan reminded him of Kurt. The way he teased, the way he talked, what he said. He took note of all that, gaining a bit of a soft spot for Nicole's brother when he did. Cool. Jay thought irritably. Now, I won't be able to yell at him without feeling bad.

( xD Ah, okay, let's just settle on the fact that they love each other very much, will get married one day, and have some babies. )

Jay furrowed his brow. Damn, Nathan was talking the same way Kurt did when they were barely getting to know each other. "I happen to care about my sister...a lot." He swallowed, feeling his throat tighten. "Either way, that's still a horrible thing to say."

Nathan just shrugged. [If Jay thought his throaght was tight now, wait for itttt] "Hey, you know, me and Nicole were talking about you earlier. You and some kid. Uhm, I think she said his name was.. Oh, I don't remember. I think it started with a C, or K Ah, Kurt." He said, randomly. He didn't want a random silence, and he didn't want to have to talk about Nicole any more.

Jay coughed. It was something that happened automatically in situations like the one he was in now, and served great as a diversion. "Wha...why were you two talking about Kurt?" he asked quietly, looking down. No. He wasn't going to cry, he wasn't going to get upset. He'd gotten over this. Right?

Jay's eyes widened. "Dammit," he spat, looking away. "What the hell did you do, stalk us?" he asked angrily. Okay, so maybe he wouldn't get depressed this time. Maybe he'd just be mad. "Why do you want to know?" Jay asked, looking back at Nathan.
