"Fine," Nicole said, blinking slowly and looking at Jay with a small smile. She reached over and toutched his hair. It looked so silly when and pushed in different directions. This pretending that everything was fine and not awkward was really awkward.

( Wth. xD ) Jay grinned, and pulled her hand away from his hair, kissing it lightly. "Weirdo," he commented. "Touching my hair." He shook it out, grinning. "I know it's wet, leave me alone. I'm a guy, I can get my hair wet and not freak."

Nicole swayed back and forth a little but, sitting up, too. "It's hot, don't worry~" She chuckled, commenting on his hair. Fu.ck. Of course that wouldn't be how he took it.

Swallowing audibly, Jay forced a chuckle out of himself. "Yeah, it is," he said, and glanced up at his window. "It's summer now, too..." He sighed loudly, lying down on his bed and staring at the ceiling.

Nicole, blanket clutched around her, glanced at Jay. She had spent Senior year with him, and now that it was summer... ? What was he going to say. She stayed quiet, hoping it would make him go on with his thought.

Jay's eyes flickered over to where Nicole was, clinging to the blanket as if it would save her from falling into a pool of hungry sharks. "It's going to be hotter now that it was before..." he added slowly.

( What are you talking about? xD ) Jay blinked. "Oh -- ah," He flushed, and then sat up straight, looking away. "it's sort of...an anniversary. Of a sort. A depressing sort, I guess. Zooey says it's good to remember this sort of day, or something of that...sort."

"Well, she snapped at me as soon as I opened my mouth," he said, slumping down into a chair that was often piled with clothing. Today was no different. "I guess she doesn't care. What do you want to do?" he asked, looking up at Nicole.
