Jay chuckled. "I don't know, either," he said, and blinked at the houses by the road. "You know, you rarely tell me anything about your life. It's always been about me, the way I see it. So, tell me something. Anything. And, don't be a smart aleck and tell me you're getting married to me or something like that."

Nicole blinked slowly for a few moments before she answered. "Well, I don't like it when you drink," She started, then paused to see if his reaction had changed. Because, that alone might be 'smart aleck-y'. "but, I do have a good reason." She continued, not looking at Jay. "Recently, you and I were already dating, but not engaged, and my dad was killed, well, died, when he and his friends were drinking."

She paused and sighed, but more for air then for effect. She felt uncomfortable telling him, even though they had been together for so long, engaged to be married, even, but it was too late to stop telling the story now. "They were all drunk," She paused and smiled, "not 'tipsy' like you," she would've nudged him, but he was driving. "And, they had enough sense not to drive home, so they started to walk."

Nicole was afraid to tell this part, because it was so similar to Kurt and Jonah's deaths. "Like I said, they were drunk, stupid, and had no idea what they were doing." Nicole didn't bother brush the hair out of her face, because now, it served as a wall that Jay couldn't see bast to tell if she was emotional or not. She wasn't yet.

"As they were walking home, in the dark, this 'gang' of kids - well, they were like 20 or something, - messed with them, pertending like they were going to mug them or something. But, like I said, they were drunk and stupid, so they got 'smart aleck-y'" She smiled for a moment, "and started to try and fight back. But, it wasn't like they had any money, because they had spent it all on alchohol, so I don't know why they fought back."

Nicole almost waited to see what Jay's reaction was, but she wasn't going to stop now because she wanted to finish before they got to her house, because she didn't want to pause and pick it back up again.

"But, they were a 'gang', so, of course, they had a knife and a gun or two." She stopped. "I think you can guess the ending?" She asked, because if he didn't, he was either playing dumb, or was dumb. "We didn't know for a few days, neither did the police, but we thought that he had just slept at his buddy's house or something. The police didn't know, because they couldn't find his body."

Nicole finally stopped. Hopefuly, that was good enough, and didn't bore him. "Maybe that's one of the reasons I always like being with you, and never let you go." She said, and of all times, that's when she had to bl
ink back tears? "Other then Nathan, who doesn't count, you're the only guy in my life. I mean, you would be even if he wasn't dead." Nicole still didn't look up at him, but crossed her arms across her hips and pressed her hand over her tattoo. she stopped, because she didn't want him to think that that ( that: the fact that he was the only guy in her life ) was the reason she had gotten it. It wasn't.

( I am going to stop now bacause I could be dumb and drone on and on, but I won't. Mainly because I'm to lazy.

Also, when I saw this, I thought, "Is she telling me something from earlier in the roleplay?"
Then I started reading.
My heart rate sped up. xDD At the mention of Jonah and Kurt, and then the story. I was like, o____o )

Jay swallowed audibly. Why did everything have to be like that? Even Nicole had suffered in some way, in a way that reminded him of himself. As Nicole spoke, his hands had been clenching the steering wheel tighter and tighter, until his knuckles had gone bone white. He relaxed when she finally finished, and he sighed heavily.

"I see," he said, exhaling loudly. "How come you never told me, Nicole?" Jay asked, glancing over at her worriedly.

( I went brain dead. o__o )

Jay's hands tightened on the wheel of the car again. "I've already stopped," he said, his throat tight. "While you were gone. While you were gone, I decided to stop. Maybe a drink every-so-often, but not like before. Not anymore."

( I dunno. )

"Was it because of me?" Nicole asked, looking at him, but then looking away. Something about him right now: Pissed off and confused, made him look really irresistible. She would kill to reach over and kiss him, if noting else, to calm his nerves.

( That's terrible, Nicole. You sadist. )

Jay cleared his throat. "Yeah," he said, half lying. "I didn't want to upset you or anyone else anymore by doing things I'm not supposed to." he murmured, and stopped the car. "We're at your house now." he said, looking over at Nicole and trying a smile.

( Nicole: What can I say? ;D )

Nicole looked down for a minuite, but she looked over at him. He was looking over at her, so she took the oppourtunity; She leaned foward, slipped her hand behind his neck, dnd laid her lips to his. She breathed once in and once out, slowly, thrugh her nose before she pulled away, and still silent, she opened the door and stepped out of the car, closing the door behind her, starting foward towards her house.

( Kurt never really drank, that's why. o__o He was the responsible one while all the rest of his friends were drunk; he drove them all home.
The whole "I'm not gonna drink >:U" thing started when he met Jay. o3o )

Jay kissed Nicole back, and then furrowed his brow when she left without a word. Maybe the fact that she had just told him a bad part about her life was what had made her so quiet and grave. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and leaned back, looking at the road. Was it just him, or did they just ruin a perfectly good atmosphere?

( I guess he liked him the whole time, huh? o____o )
( It was mainly her. But, yes, you did. )

Nicole quickly changed into her swimsuit, throwing her clothes onto the bed. She grabbed a towel from the shelf in her closet, wrapping it tightly around herself before she slipped back into her sandals and back out towards the car, still silent. She opened the door and slipped back into the car, "Back," She announced.

( xD No. Just...don't get me started. )

"Welcome back," Jay chirped, and then leaned over, giving her a small kiss. He started the car again, and drove back onto the road. This was going to be an awkward car ride, he just knew it. Might as well try to break the silence. "Umm... So...?"

Nicole figured she would get this over with, and make it awkward now so it was over with. "Jay, I have to tell you something. Completly serious." She turned to him with an ecpressionless face.

( She figures he deserves to know that she wants kids.
Then, she will deserve to know that he purposely crushed her hopes and dreams, and therefore breaking her heart used a condom. ;o; )

Jay's eyes widened a little, and he looked back at the road, clearing his throat noisily. "Ummm," What could she possibly want to ask? "alright. Shoot." he said, and felt like he'd regret it the second Nicole spoke again. He was just that pessimistic.

Nicole pulled the towel tighter around her shoulders. "Jay, this is about to get very awkward." She pointed out. "And, you might think I'm crazy, but hear me out, okay?"

Jay looked at her. Did she not bring her clothes along? "Well, all right..." he mumbled, trying to focus on the road. What could she possibly say that would cause him to slam on the brakes? Hopefully, nothing.

( Mhm. )

Nicole bit her lip for a minuite. Whever she wanted to tell him something, he always got tense and upset-seeming. But, why? He should know she would sooner kill herself then break up with him.. or something. "I love you, Jay. A lot. More then I've ever loved anyone else, and more then I'll ever love someone else." She didn't look at him. Sounded like a legit break up. Deffinatly not. "Like I said, it's crazy," She paused, "But, not to me. Jay," she was dragging this on and on for some reason. Her throat tightned at the thought of how he could respond.

"Jay," she repeated. "I really, really want a family." She blurted. Nicole wouln't end it there, "I have for a while. Just," She paused. "Oh, I don't even know," she pulled at her hair. Why did she tell him? Nicole didn't have the heart to go on, to tell him she just wanted one kid.

( Wait, whut? )

Was she breaking up with him? No, that can't happen! Once again, his hands clenched on the steering wheel of his car, the rest of his muscles contracting along with it, but the relaxed slightly when Nicole said she wanted a family. Good... Wait, what!? Jay looked at her, eyes wide. "You want a kid?" he asked incredulously.

( The last two were to Jay. xD )

As she suspected, she had regretted it. "I knew you were going to react that way!" Nicole cried, pulling at her hair again. Why did she even tell him? She could've kept at least that dream to herself. Nicole knew she wasn't ready for a kid, but, she wanted one. More than anything.

Jay's eyes widened further. "Whoa, whoa, Nicole! Calm the hell down!" he exclaimed, pulling one of her hands away from her hair. "I just asked you if you wanted a kid! I didn't say no, damn!" Maybe saying yes would calm her down. "I-I mean, I do want kids, but, I didn't think you would." he said honestly, face flushing in embarr*censored*ment.

( Wow. That'll calm her down. )

By that time, Nicole was taking in and letting out very sharp breaths. "Yes, Jay, I do want I kid." Nicole rolled her eyes, "But I didn't expect you to freak out when I told you." She wasn't looking at him anymore. "I thought you'd know I was serious about us by now. This isn't just some highschool romance anymore."

( Oh God. A fight. n___n )
