"You shut up," Jay teased, wrapping an arm around Nicole's waist. "Let's go pay for that shirt, and then we can go back to my place." he murmured. There was a mischievous sparkle in his eyes.

( And the world comes tumbling down. )

 Nicole blinked, "Alright." She said. She handed the cleark the shirt, along with a twenty.

"Ey!" Jay glared at Nicole. "I said I was going to buy it for you!"

( Lmao. )

Jay sighed. "Alright, whatever. But I get to buy you something next," He said, stabbing a finger in Nicole's face and taking the shopping bag from the clerk.

"Fine, fine, whatever." Nicole laughed.

"That's right," Jay sighed, taking Nicole's hand again and leading her out of the store. "Let's go now," he said, looking around for an exit. Just when he found it, Hideo just happened to walk by. For a second, Jay only blinked, and then he let go of Nicole's hand and went after him. He grabbed his shoulder, and Hideo punched him in the gut.

The most he got out of Jay was a grunt. "Oh, sorry, man... Didn't know you'd be here," he said, scratching the back of his head. "Er, are you okay?"

Jay nodded, straightening. "What're you doing here anyway?" Hideo wasn't paying attention, instead he was glancing at Nicole behind him.

"Hi," Hideo said, lowering his gaze. He looked angry, as if everything was Nicole's fault.

Everything, not just Kurt's death.

"Hayden," Jay said, snapping Hideo out of his thoughts. It was rare for Jay to use Hideo's real name to address him. "what are you doing here?"

"Nothing, nothing... I just felt like wandering around." Hideo said, shrugging. There was a chunk of jet black hair missing from the left side of Hideo's face, which bothered Jay. He knew Hayden often cut huge locks of his own hair off when he was upset, but it was so noticeable...

"Want to hang out with me and Nicole?" Jay asked.

"Depends," Hayden glanced at Nicole again. 

"No, it's just that I was wondering if you would mind if I tagged along." Hayden said, frowning.

"I don't think she would, but..." Jay turned to look at Nicole anyway. "Would you?"

"Well," Hideo yawned, stretching a little as he did. "it doesn't matter, anyway. I gotta go, so, bye, Jay." He waved, and walked off. As he did, he gave either Nicole or Jay a nasty look over his shoulder.

Why do my friends seem to hate Nicole now? Jay thought. In his eyes, it definitely looked like that dirty look was for Nicole, and it probably was.

Jay sighed. "They're just jerks. C'mon, let's go to my place." he said, petting Nicole's hair.
