Jalang trailed slowly behind Crisis. His tail was droopy and his head was down. ‘Of course the omega can’t hunt by himself.’ he thought. Sighing, he lifted his head up, “I smelt deer over there.” he told Crisis, pointing with his muzzle towards the right. It was a large wooded path lined with trees of every size.
“Then we’ll go that way.” Crisis growled, hiding the anger from her voice. Jalang was always better then her at picking up scents, but he had the worst eyesight out of all the pack. She picked up the scent quickly, it wasn’t too close, but it was there. She began to run quickly, Jalang still behind. “Shh.” she whispered silently once Jalang was at her side.
“Get over to the opposite side and we’ll jump out at both ends” Crisis advised, ducking down low. This deer was huge and it would feed the pack well.
With a nod, Jalang stalked through the dense undergrowth, silent as a mouse. He was keen not to step on a twig and he was at the other side in no time. He waited for Crisis’ signal.
“Now!” Crisis snarled. She and Jalang leaping out in unison and latching onto the deer.
Crisis had a good hold of it’s neck, while Jalang gripped one of it’s legs. The deer bucked madly, almost throwing Crisis off, but she had her claws deep in the deer’s shoulders.
It wasn’t long until it’s thrashes got weaker and weaker. “Up here, Jalang!” Crisis growled through the buck’s flesh.
Jalang quickly let go of the leg and grabbed onto the bucks skull. Jalang had been hurt by the deer, however, in its vain attempts to break free of the duo. His sides hurt from being bashed into the ground, though he had never let go of the leg.
“Good work.” Crisis said, her tail wagging for the first time. “Let’s take it back.”
Crisis grabbed hold of the neck while Jalang took it’s backside and they began to drag it towards the direction of the pack.
